It feels good to give back. And together with our generous customers and employees, Macy’s averages more than $1 million a week to initiatives important to you and your community – arts, education, the environment, HIV/AIDS, and women’s health and wellness. It adds up to $69 million a year. It’s a good feeling we can all share, and to us, that’s the magic of giving.

Ah, Wilderness!: A Comedy of Recollection in Three Acts is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC. DIRECTOR’S NOTE In Ah, Wilderness!, Eugene O’Neill provides a loving, gentle look at a life he wishes he might’ve lived as a young man. Subtitled “a comedy of recollection,” O’Neill takes a day (July 4, 1906) in the life of the Miller family of Connecticut and uses this as an opportunity to spin a coming-of-age story that is poignant and sweet, yet at the same time infused with a certain sadness. In the hands of a lesser playwright, the material could easily become maudlin and overly sentimental. O’Neill, however, manages not only an artful dissection of the tribulations of young love, but also incorporates problems of the era into the story: alcoholism, prostitution and intolerance are but a few of the more serious topics touched upon in the play. Though extremely popular in its day and used as the basis for movies and a musical, Ah, Wilderness! is not among the best-known of O’Neill’s works and stands as his only comedy. CCM Drama is proud to offer this wonderful play to Cincinnati audiences, and on behalf of the entire production team we hope you enjoy this foray into poetry, politics and passion. R. Terrell Finney, Director

Friends of CCM Board Member, founded The CCM Harmony Fund: Challenging Hate and Prejudice through Performing Arts The Harmony Fund was created as both an acknowledgement of the continuing existence of hate and prejudice within this civilized world and, more importantly, the ability of the arts to help us better understand and transcend these emotions.

JOHN HARRISON John Harrison is the founder of The CCM Harmony Fund: Challenging Hate and Prejudice through Performing Arts. The arts are truly a language that all people speak; they cut across racial, cultural, social, educational and economic barriers. The CCM Harmony Fund was established to celebrate the language of the arts, encourage conversation and advocate compassion. The fund supports our incredibly talented students and faculty at the College-Conservatory of Music in the media and performing arts in creative and unique ways to promote culturally diverse audiences, and fight hate and prejudice. Mr. Harrison has made provisions in his will to support and continue the mission of The Harmony Fund.

THE VILLAGE NEWS ALUMNI APPLAUSE After receiving accolades at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival for his lead role in the feature film I Am Not A Hipster, alumnus Dominic Bogart (BFA Drama, 2000) returned to the festival this January for the world premiere of The Birth of a Nation. Bogart appears in this biopic about enslaved preacher-turned-revolt leader Nat Turner alongside Nate Parker and Armie Hammer. According to Variety, The Birth of Nation landed the biggest deal in the history of the Sundance Film Festival: a $17.5 million payday from Fox Searchlight for global rights. A native of Piqua, Ohio, Bogart was the 2012 recipient of CCM’s Julia Winter Cohen Career Excellence Award. Alumna Nicole Callender (BFA Drama, 1991) is an actor, regionally and OffBroadway, as well as a stuntwoman and fight choreographer. She recently doubled Michelle Hurst in the acclaimed Netflix comedy-drama Orange is the New Black. She also performed stunt work on the CBS crime drama Golden Boy. As an actor she has appeared as Kat in All in the Miming at Vital Theater (New York) and Ensemble in Anton in Show Business and The Laramie Project at the Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre (Summit, N.J.). An accomplished film and television actor, alumnus Keith Pillow (MFA Drama, 1989) has had recurring roles on TV’s Judging Amy, The Shield, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Awkward and Pretty Little Liars. He has made guest appearances on The Mentalist, Glee, The Goldbergs, Law & Order L.A., The Closer, Nip/Tuck, Hot in Cleveland, 24, CSI, Cold Case, The Young and the Restless, General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful, to name but a few. A classically trained singer and actor, Pillow was the 2015 recipient of CCM’s Julia Winter Cohen Career Excellence Award. In a recent Washington Post profile, alumna Angela Ammerman (BM Music Education, 2006) was hailed as a “music teacher prodigy.” A teacher at the Annandale High School in Fairfax County, Virginia, Ammerman was also recently named the Virginia Orchestra Director of the Year by the American String Teachers Association. She is a member of the Music Educators National Conference, American String Teachers Association and has been a guest conductor in All County and All City Orchestras.

march 22 – april 10, 2016 #Annapurna Regional PRemieRe dRama. What if you had experienced the defining moment of your life—but couldn’t remember it? Twenty years ago, Emma walked out on her husband, cowboy-poet Ulysses, in the middle of the night. Now, hearing he’s in dire straits, she tracks him down to the wilds of Colorado in a grungy trailer. He’s working on his magnum opus, hooked to an oxygen tank, and cooking breakfast in the buff. Their reunion, charged by rage and compassion, is a story that rides the fine line between tragedy and comedy.
