Evidence-Based Argumentation Webinar http://www.ccsoh.us/sswebinar.aspx This Recorded Webinar session will provide teachers with tools to implement evidence-based argumentation and Common Core writing in social studies. We will review the three parts of an argument (claim, evidence, and warrant) and logical fallacies. Participants will receive templates, organizers, and sample lessons to implement evidence-based writing in their classrooms.

Unpacking Learning Targets for Social Studies State Tests Date: October 7, 2015 Location: Linmoor Education Center Time: 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. This Train the Trainer session will help teachers make learning visible, and prepare students for success on the state social studies tests in grades 4, 6, HS American History and American Government. Curriculum Math Textbook and Resources Professional Development The Math Leads selected by each building to serve as trainers and supporters for the math textbooks and resources will provide professional development to teachers and administrators. McGraw Hill Webinars and Videos Every mathematics teacher in the district will have access to recorded webinars and training videos through their ConnectEd accounts. Teacher will go to http://connected.mcgraw-hill.com/connected/login.do and use their assigned username and password to login. Then go to the PD tab. Discovery Education Streaming Explore how Discovery Education Streaming Plus provides concrete tools and practical resources that empower educators to meet the demands of CCSS with digital content, instructional strategies, model lessons and assessments that are designed to increase academic achievement. Exploring Book Flix, PreK-3 eBook Resource In this session, participants will learn about all of the exciting features of BookFlix that teachers and families can use to enrich reading time and motivate young readers. Supporting Emotional Needs of Gifted Webinars Live and recorded webinars on a variety of topics related to gifted education are available at www.sengifted.org. The focus is on social emotional needs. There is also an extensive free article library related to twice exceptional students and counseling gifted learners with information appropriate for educators and parents. GT Ignite GT Ignite is a collection of online courses related to gifted education that can last from 1 to 6 hours. A subscription is being purchased to allow up to 600 hours of training districtwide. Classes can be taken individually or as a group viewing the videos and engaging in the discussion. Access information will be posted on the Gifted & Talented Confluence space once received. ESL Best Practices Part II This thirty minute webinar provides strategies to differentiate for LEP students to assist in their learning and retention of academic vocabulary and content. ESL PD Now! These learning modules, from The Master Teacher Š, provide a strong foundation for teaching English Language Learners. There are 17 modules to choose from, with a quiz at the end of each. From Basics of Online Safety to Digital Citizenship Learn about Learning.com's EasyTech Online Safety curriculum, provided free to all Ohio schools and districts jointly by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Regents. The EasyTech Online Safety program employs a positive - not fear-based - curriculum, based on current research to help students learn safe online habits and behaviors. The course provides students with the skills to be safe, ethical digital citizens as they use the Internet and communication technologies. It also includes resources for teachers and parents, and supports users with engaging and effective interactive lessons, resources and guides. Document Cameras in the Classroom A document camera is one of the easiest and quickest ways to integrate technology into your classroom and actively engage students in the learning process. Visual learners will benefit from the use of a document camera by seeing small items, text, and demonstrations in a much bigger way.
