Speak Up!
Is there anyone out there who cares about the ramp closure on Pelham Parkway West from City Island? When this happens, we are going to have to stop at a light and make a left turn to go onto the same ramp as people comto Section 5 is going to be closed. It really is going to cause a headache when we are out on City Island during the summer.
community is opposed to something, the powers that be just do whatever they want. Do you know why they don't care about what we say and feel? It's that way because we act like we don't care about anything. It's a shame. When will we learn to speak up about what we oppose?
Stern Punishment for Union Square Rioters
hattan was right on point. Parents need to do a better job supervising their adolescent children. In my opinion, one huge problem nowadays is the absence of a father in many households.
It shouldn't need to be a police problem when so many youngsters gather together. Throwing objects at police and standing on people's cars are serious crimes. The persons who commit these heinous acts should be punished sternly.

The Prime Directive
The Project X plan has been juggling ramps to allevigoal. Its prime directive Ramp C already does that.
An old study shows only 50% of Ramp C users, from either the north side of westbound Pelham Parkway (from City Island) or from the south side of eastbound Pelham Parkway (from the zoo) via the Turnnorth.
Some use Ramp C as a detour to bypass part strictive signage (to Hutch N/Palmer only), road markings (dotted line on one side, solid line on the chances of success for the project. Ramp C ing the Project X prime directive at all. That parts of the project.
One part involves the I-95N 4th Lane work-in-progress extension. Another part, none operators!)
With all that, Project X’s success is still not a guarantee 4th Lane extension would only lessen their chance of success.
So, for all you DOT people trying to make
sense of the mess you’ve inherited, now’s the time to cut your losses. Go back to the drawing board. Leave Ramp C alone Fix the Turnaround

Cooperators Acting Out
Can you imagine someone living here with allegations of shoplifting from all of our supermarkets? Moreover, what if there were allegations that they went into a store and made violent threats against a worker? Well, those allegations were made against a cooperator here. Therefore, our police force arrested this man.
Now, unfortunately, some people don’t care about consequences when they go into some stores to shoplift. Therefore, without a care in the world, they’re going into some stores and trying to steal as much merchandise as they can. For instance, a guy went into a store in Dreiser. Thereafter, an employee stopped the guy. Then, the employee allegedly pulled out a tremendous amount of items from this guy’s clothing and placed everything onto a checkout counter. And, included within all of those items was a pineapple. Yes, surprisingly, the guy somehow managed to tuck a pineapple within his clothing.
Similar crimes have occurred at other stores here. For instance, some thieves were seen in the Bartow mall going into a discount store. Thereafter, they walked out of the store as though nothing happened. Then, unfortunately, some young adults have gone into this same store and ran out the door with unpaid merchandise. And, hey, they thought that they pulled off something good.
But, some merchants have wised up to this foolishness. And, now, they’re taking aggressive action against shoplifters. For instance, some popular stores some potential shoplifters should know what’s going to happen to them after they get caught.
Then, some merchants are so fed up with shoplifters, that they’re taking matters into their own hands. For instance, a man allegedly went into a popular store in Stockton, Ca. Then, using violent threats, this man allegedly started removing lots of items from the shelves and placing them into a large garbage can.
June 2023 Management Report
So, a worker tried to stop the man. The alleged shoplifter then engaged in a struggle with the worker. another worker ran up on the scene with a huge stick. Then, it was on! Thereafter, well, let’s just say that the alleged shoplifter will probably think twice before going into this store again.
Animal Shelter on Bartow Avenue
Work recently began on a 50,000 square foot animal shelter at 2050 Bartow Avenue, near Red Lobster. This shelter will have veterinary services, wildlife education, and areas for people to adopt pets. This shelter is expected to be completed during the summer of 2025.
Jobs
Can you believe that Riverbay had 48 available positions under recruitment at the end of June 2023? There were 11 management/administration jobs, 36 union jobs, and 1 temporary job available.
Bottom line: At times, some cooperators will complain to me about their family members that are still at home and are not working. But, look, we had 98 available positions at the beginning of June 2023. So, please tell them to look through this newspaper City.’ Then, they need to go online and apply for a job. No excuses!
Outrageous Calls For Services
Let’s go through some of the calls that were made to Public Safety in June. There were 32 calls about Animals. Look, dogs cannot exhibit wild, violent, disruptive, and aggressive behaviors here. So, community complaints must be issued. There were 2 calls for Criminal Trespass. Therefore, please do not go on the roof of any apartment building here.
There were 47 calls for Disputes, 28 calls for Harassment, and 241 calls for Noise. Can you imagine some of your neighbors acting out and threatening one another? Horrible! Then, what about ex-mates going after each other? Fighting? No! Look, you deserve peace, love, and other good things. So, if necessary, please get some legal or other professional assistance to settle everything with your ex-mate. Then, please
move on.
excessive noise conditions at any time of the day. complaints to those cooperators. Next, we need to start having sharp legal conferences with cooperators that are making an extreme amount of noise in their apartment. Thereafter, legal agreements need to be made to resolve these excessive noise complaints here. Violations? Housing Court! Then, you will see that a lot of foolishness that goes on here will stop.
Bottom line: As you can see, there’s a lot of nonsense that’s going on here. So, it’s time that we encourage everyone to live better here. Nevertheless, we must be willing to enforce our rules here.
Close
We’ve had way too many complaints about some cooperators that are making excessive noise in their apartment. So, now, it’s time to put a stop to this foolishness. Therefore, we should start having legal department. Thank you.

Environmental Issues – Over the weekend, I had to email Riverbay Board President Sonia Feliciano. I needed to know how we could get the area around choose to throw their trash on the sidewalk? Pick up after yourself and teach your children to do the same. And why is someone still leaving bags of trash in child! If you are leaving open bags of trash in there, are you also doing this in your home? Take a look in the compactor room after your child takes out the Co-op City further in a direction we do not want to go! Remember, no roaches and no mice! And, if you see something, say something. If we can get everyone on board, just imagine what Co-op City could be like.
Thank You – The board would like to thank the shareholders who do try out there.
Ramp C – How many of you know the ramp leading to 95N and Section 5 make a left turn at a light being installed, cross Pelham Parkway East and use
for things together, the better the outcome. Let us try it and see what happens. Upcoming Events – If you know about upcoming events in and around the
ticle in the Co-op City Times gmail.com.
Personal Note – If you are suffering from a loss or if you are experiencing you in our prayers.
Take care now and walk good.

Hope everyone is having a great summer and staying safe.
On Friday, August 4, 2023 you should have gotten a Nomination Ballot for our Building 6 Association elections on your apartment door knob. The Nomination Ballot has Building President and Building Vice President and Building Treasurer and Building Secretary on it. If you didn't get one, please contact Mrs. English of CSO at 718-320-3300, press 4, to get in contact with her. Please be on the look-out for when the voter meeting will be held.
As Building Association president, I work together with our Building Maintenance Supervisor to make sure our building is clean, and with our CSO Manager Mrs. English about any problems in the building and things that need to be repaired.
On Wednesday, August 2, I met with the Assistant Executive General Manager of Co-op City. We did a total walk-through of our building from the roof make sure they closed and opened properly; checked all the compactor rooms making sure everything is working right and that they were clean. Now, I have a great communication with our Assistant Executive General Manager, too. I plan to do a walk-though of our building every month with the Assistant Executive General Manager to make our building one of the best in Co-op City, hopefully to make everyone proud to be a shareholder of Building 6.
I have already spoken with many people in our building asking them their ideas of what they want to see in our building. The Association is always open to ideas from residents in our building.
We have events for Thanksgiving when I dress up like Santa for the kids during Christmas and collect candy and give out candy during Halloween and dress up, too.
Some of the many things the Building Association has accomplished:
• Hosted Family Game Night
• Secured Andy Soto as our permanent Lobby Attendant
• Collaborated with other Section 1 Building Associations to plan trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods bus trips
• Secured PPE supplies and distributed them to residents in our building to keep us all safe during the Covid pandemic.
With the support of a complete board and continued shareholder participathe Building 6 Association so we can all work together to make our building a pleasure to live in.

Church Hurt: My Friends Hurt Me
We carry ourselves too highly and are prideful when we fail to realize that we are not better than Jesus. He was betrayed and we will also be. However, our response indicates our spiritual and emotional maturity. Do you leave a church because someone offended you or do you seek reconciliation and provide forgiveness? Are you too thin-skinned?
(Zechariah 13:6) “If someone asks, What are these wounds on your body? they will answer, The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.”
Jesus only did good things for people and even so, a close friend betrayed him. We should not be surprised when people we trust, even in the church, fail to live up to our standards of friendship.
(Matthew 26:48) “The betrayer had arranged a signal with them: The one I kiss is the man; arrest him. Going to Jesus, Judas said, Greetings, Rabbi! and kissed him.”
Jesus preached a sermon that was unacceptable to many and they began leaving. Jesus felt their disappointment and asked the disciples if they would stay faithful. Even he sought companionship but was not tied to it. Be careful of overextending yourself.
(John 6:66) “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. You do not want to leave too, do you? Jesus asked the Twelve.”
We must understand that people often seek their own comfort and are not always concerned about someone else. Our expectations of others can be too high and set us up for friendship failure. We have to learn to walk alone to be better in community.
(John 2:23) “When he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs he was doing. But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people.”ships. We are prone to hurt because we need communion and seek emo-
What is the solution: (Luke 23:34) “Jesus said, Father, forgive them because they don’t know what they are doing.” (Galatians 5:16) “So I Walk in harmony with God and you will be able to build wholesome relationships.

Focus: The Effective Fruitful Christian
11 Peter 1:1-3
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
Becoming a Mature Christian
We become a mature Christian as we develop the qualities of virtue, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. These qualities will develop in our growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
In a letter to the believers in Ephesus, Paul addressed the topic of spiritual growth and maturity in Christ Jesus. Ephesians (4; 11-19)
And he gave some Apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers.
For the perfecting of the saints, for the edifying of the body of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and from, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that he henceforth walk, not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart, Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
Continual progressive spiritual growth is a normal process for all spiritually healthy Christian believers. As individuals continue to grow in Christian character, their reverence and respect for God continue to increase. This process of growing spiritually brings a believer to full maturity in Christ. God has given to His church the gift of ministry in all its aspects and dimensions in order to perfect this process of spiritual growth for believers. We should continue to grow spiritually every day.
