Welcome to CEA “We understand that global competence is an increasingly valued credential in the era of borderless careers and global markets. Indeed, the pursuit of global competence is a lifelong journey that begins with the experience of study abroad.” - Brian Boubek, Chairman & CEO
Dear Students & Parents, In the past 12 years, CEA Global Education has helped more than 20,000 students realize their goal of acquiring an international education through the opportunity and advantages of study abroad. We are proud to continue in our commitment to offering you a variety of innovative academic options as well as the highest level of personalized support and guidance. We understand that global competence – the consequence of cultural awareness and intercultural skills – is an increasingly valued credential in the era of borderless careers and global markets. Indeed, the pursuit of global competence is a lifelong journey that begins with the experience of study abroad. At CEA Global Education, we’ve helped thousands of students take that important first step toward acquiring global competence through hands-on, interactive cultural experiences. To that end, we continue to expand our Global Education Network, which offers more than 100 academic options in 24 cities around the world. Whether you wish to take courses in English or a foreign language, courses that count toward your major or general education requirements, or electives that help you explore new interests, our programs are intentionally designed with students’ diverse academic needs in mind. This year, I’m pleased to share with you CEA’s newest Global Campuses in Shanghai and Buenos Aires. With China’s emergence as a global economic power and Argentina’s incredibly diverse population and vibrant culture, Shanghai and
Buenos Aires make ideal destinations for study abroad and exciting additions to our expanding network. Other ways we’re improving access to study abroad include our recently reorganized Web site, which makes it easier for students and parents to find useful information on our programs, services, value, sources of financial assistance, and health and safety. We’ve also expanded our Academic Affiliate program for universities and colleges, making it financially possible to connect more students with the benefits of study abroad, and easing credit transfer. As always, our team of admissions counselors, financial coordinators and site specialists remain dedicated to providing one-on-one assistance to students seeking global competence through a meaningful study abroad experience. We are proud to be a leader in helping students like you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in an increasingly global job market. I invite you to consider the many ways in which CEA Global Education can help you achieve your goals.
Sincerely,
Brian J. Boubek Chairman & CEO

How is that possible? Your CEA admissions counselor is assigned to you based on his/her familiarity with your college. We’ve spent a lot of time on campuses across the U.S. and know many of your faculty and study abroad advisors on a first-name basis. You’re On The Path to Success “Education abroad brings with it a career advantage when students are able to articulate how, through their international experience, they have developed value-added knowledge, skills, and abilities required by an employer. Survey research demonstrates that many employers – whether a private company or an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) – value the intellectual and personal assets developed through study abroad.” - Martin Tillman, national leader on Career Development and Education Abroad
Laying the Groundwork Study abroad has laid the groundwork for many successful careers in industries ranging from technology and sciences to education, media and communications, according to some of CEA Global Education’s own alumni. Recent polls show more employers are increasingly seeking out graduates with the kind of skills that come from successful international experiences.
What skills can study abroad add to your resume? • Foreign language proficiency • Ability to navigate multicultural differences in a workplace setting • Comfortable with diverse, unfamiliar and changing environments • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction or oversight So you see, the benefits of study abroad don’t end when you return to campus. That’s when things are just getting started! Study abroad can be the first step to a lifelong journey of learning and exploration, and a leap ahead of other candidates competing for careers in a global job market.

Dan Thompsen (2004, London):

Liz Newitt (2003, Aix-en-Provence):
My travel and study abroad experience in London was a huge plus on my resume for my current job at Expedia.com. As a leader in travel, they look for people with a great travel background across the whole company.
I graduated in 2005 with a degree in Economics and French. I am now an analyst with the U.S. Census Bureau. Studying abroad greatly improved my French-speaking ability, which helped me write my senior thesis in French, which impressed interviewers.
I graduated from Ohio State University with a BA in French and Psychology. I am currently living in Nantes, France teaching English to primary school kids. My year abroad with CEA in Aix really opened my eyes to all the possibilities and I couldn’t wait until I found a job teaching over here.

Buenos Aires offers students an ideal setting to study abroad, having retained its many old, European traditions while emerging as a political, commercial and industrial center of Argentina. The greater Buenos Aires area boasts more than 13 million people – only 3 million within the city limits – and is famous for its diverse, multi-national population, rich landscape and vibrant culture. The city’s residents exude a warmth and friendliness that invites you to hone your Spanish language skills while engaging in your surroundings. As a CEA student, watch and learn how to dance the Tango, Argentine’s national dance, or debate politics in a neighborhood café. Don’t forget to check out Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada or the Colon Theater. Explore the country’s vast and dramatic landscape from subtropical north to the sub Antarctic south. Take advantage of the city’s access to numerous modes of transportation and explore even more of Argentina, including Iguazú Falls, Bariloche, Mar del Plata, Tigre and Cordoba.

A diverse population of 140,000, Cairns is much smaller than Sydney (CEA’s other Australian destination) and offers much for the outdoor-loving student. These special environments provide living laboratories for your studies. When you add the lower cost of living and the friendly Queensland lifestyle, it is easy to see why Cairns is a popular destination for students from around the globe. Main industries in Cairns include tourism, shipping and agriculture. Engage in your surroundings with courses that take you out of the classroom and give you hands-on experience with the laid-back Australian lifestyle and surrounding natural beauty.

Sarah Maynard: Time flies faster than you think, so don’t wait to make plans for big trips or nights out. Research some specific items you would like to do before you get to Australia, that will make it easier to keep from missing out on things. Enjoy as much of the country as possible. And most of all, have fun!
Joe Reinke: CEA was great! The kids in my building were always jealous that our program had trips planned every weekend and their program just dropped them off and said ‘Have a good time.’ While you’re there, don’t waste a minute sitting around the TV. There’s always something to do and good people to explore with.
Ellen Skow: CEA’s program was well organized and they helped me through the whole process of studying abroad. My advice: Immerse yourself in the culture, make new friends, and try new things. Opportunities like this don’t last forever: jump on the chance while you still can!

Considered Chile’s premiere seaside resort, Viña del Mar provides a great stepping stone to a semester or summer of Spanish language and Latin American cultural study. A short drive from Santiago, Viña del Mar is more laid-back and friendly than Santiago, Chile’s capital city. Viña del Mar is conveniently situated and gives visitors easy access to Chile’s many natural wonders. The country’s topography ranges from the Andes Mountains and arid deserts to sandy beaches and lakes. Viña del Mar also offers easy access to Chile’s many natural wonders, including the beautiful coast. Home to a large number of parks and gardens, as its reputation as the Garden City promises, the city is also known for its annual Viña del Mar International Song Festival, held in February. Hone your Spanish language skills while experiencing and absorbing all the Chilean culture has to offer through hands-on excursions to nearby Santiago, a trip into the snow or a tour of the Valparaíso Wineries and the grape harvest.

A Cultural Perspective: The Chilean Riviera If you love sun, sand, and surf, you will love Viña del Mar. This beautiful city is known for its relaxing atmosphere and beautiful beaches. The warm Mediterranean-style climate has earned the city the nickname the Chilean Riviera. It also is referred to as the Orange County of Chile because of all the high-rise condos, American style homes, and surfing enthusiasts located along a seaside highway not unlike the Pacific Coast Highway. There are so many amazing beaches in Viña del Mar, it will be hard to decide which to visit. The large selection of restaurants and shops along the sidewalk make Playa Renaca one of the more popular beaches. If you enjoy swimming, the calm waters of Playa Cochoa and Playa Caleta Abarca make these beaches ideal. Travel farther away from the center of the city and enjoy unique and less crowded beaches like La Serena, which is famous for its black sand. Playa Renaca - Photo Courtesy of Jordi Cubero

If you are in Viña del Mar during the third week of February, you won’t want to miss the International Song Festival, the most popular music festival in Latin America. This fun and exciting event began 51 years ago as a platform for emerging stars to showcase their talent. The format of the event has shifted from a traditional musical festival to more of an awards show. There is a pop song and folk song competition, where the audience, known as “The Monster,” decides through their reaction of Franz Ferdinand, Performing at the 2006 International Song Festival cheering or booing if the performer wins an award or is taken off stage. International music stars from around the world entertain the audience between the competitive performances. Some stars who have performed in the past include Journey, Nelly Furtado and Earth, Wind & Fire.

As China’s “Gateway to the West,” Shanghai boasts an ancient history tucked under its iconic skyline. With a long history of trade as China’s leading port town, Shanghai is considered a golden land of opportunity for many Chinese in the 21st Century. Its young, trendsetting population is known for its fascination with everything hip, and ultra-modern, but the city’s colonial past is not hard to find as you explore its many green spaces, park bridges and interlocking canals. Shanghai is the ideal place to observe the making of China’s future first-hand. Its economy once based primarily on fishing and textiles, today the city has flourished as an important center of commerce between the East and West, and has become a multinational hub of finance and industry. Learn some of China’s traditions through hands-on CEA activities. Practice early morning Taiji alongside locals, learn and participate in a tea ceremony or try your hand at calligraphy.

A Cultural Perspective: Pudong District and Old Town Shanghai
Yu Yuan Gardens with View of Pearl Tower
The Pudong district is home to iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, and many other modern buildings. Prior to 1990 the Pudong area was mainly countryside and farmland. Now it is a major financial hub and home to trendy restaurants and night clubs. Pudong is just one example of how quickly Shanghai is modernizing. Beyond Shanghai’s contemporary buildings and up and coming technology, you will find Old Town Shanghai, a town relatively unaltered by Shanghai’s rapid modernization. Enclosed in 1555 by a wall to protect it from Japanese pirates, today the path of these walls is preserved by a circle of streets constructed after the wall’s demolition in 1911. As a CEA student you will be taken on a guided walking tour through Old Town – passing by busy lively markets, ancient architecture, and locals playing cards. Search for the perfect souvenirs to bring home to family and friends at the Yuyuan Bazaar. Enjoy the beauty of the Wenmiao Temple, the only Confucian Temple left in Shanghai. Don’t miss seeing the beautiful gardens, a perfect place to read a book or sip tea. Experience the old world feel of this unique town and discover why Old Town is considered the “Shanghai of the Chinese, not the foreigners.”

Serving as a major economic and cultural center of the Czech Republic, Prague is a modern city that still retains the original allure of a former age. The Velvet Revolution of November 1989 saw the overthrow of the communist regime. On January 1, 1993, the Czechoslovak state was peacefully divided and the independent Czech and Slovak Republics were founded. The formerly centralized state system has since been transformed into a parliamentary democracy and market economy, with the Czech Republic joining the European Union on May 1, 2004. Today you can walk to school every morning through a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the Baroque Mala Strana quarter, Anglo-American University offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in both a Czech and international higher education setting. Participate in AAU activities, sports and clubs, or explore the city with new friends. Don’t forget to check out the Strahov Monastery, Petrin, or the cubist House of the Black Madonna.

A Cultural Perspective: A City in Celebration Czech is not the only language you’ll hear in Prague these days. From its comparative isolation during the period of Communist rule, Prague has resumed its role as a cosmopolitan center of arts and culture. Whether it’s Indian film, Japanese fashion, or African food, you’ll find an international festival, conference, or event for it each year in Prague. Each fall sees an international design and fashion show roll into town, bringing some of the world’s top designers and their newest creations with it. A Bollywood film festival showcases the year’s best from India and Hollywood’s biggest stars come to the Czech Republic each summer for the international film festival in the historic spa town of Karlovy Vary. The Bohemia JazzFest offers jazz concerts in Prague’s historic squares for free in the fall, and an annual summer writers’ festival attracts names like Margaret Atwood, Paul Auster and Iain Banks. For the rest of us, the Fringe Festival each summer offers, well, something a little bit different. Whether you favor rap, rock, reggae, or Rachmaninoff, you’ll find it being played under the open skies somewhere in the Czech Republic in summer. Just a little later each spring the Khamora festival of world Roma culture takes place, highlighting the music, dance, language, and culture of the peoples the world used to call “gypsies.”

A Cultural Perspective: Provence’s Tradition of Wine Making Wine has been produced in the Provence region ever since the Greeks settled there in 600 BC! Throughout Provence’s history many cultures have flocked to the region including Romans, Gauls, Catalans, and Savoyards, bringing with them diverse groups of grapes. Over the years this has led to the production of a variety of unique wines. Sixty-five percent of the wine made in appellation Coteaux d’Aix en Provence is red, 30 percent is rose, and 5 percent is white. With dozens of wineries across the country to visit and tour, you are sure to learn the role wine plays in French culture. CEA students can learn about a variety of wines from different regions of France while sampling cheeses and French cold cuts. Not sure how to sample wine? Galway has more of a small-town and university feel to it than Dublin, and offers easy access to more of the traditional landscapes students might associate with Ireland, including the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and the Aran Islands. The Irish language thrives with folk in Connemara still speaking Irish as their native tongue. The arts thrive in this bohemian city, as music, theatrical production and literature are among the elements that contribute to this decidedly studentcentered city’s humble appeal. Nicknamed “Ireland’s Cultural Heart,” Galway offers students the ideal opportunity to explore traditional, yet vibrant, Irish culture through numerous festivals, celebrations and events. The city hosts the Galway Arts Festival every July, drawing more than 150,000 people for its international celebration of performing and visual arts. Other events worth savoring include the Galway Races in August and the Galway International Oyster Festival in September.

Niki DiRosia: Deciding to study abroad in Galway was by far the best decison I have ever made. I made unforgettable friends, saw breathtaking sights, learned both from my campus classes and traveling experiences as well as gained a better sense of who I am. If you are considering going abroad, stop thinking about it and go for it. It is worth all the effort.
Vicki Brooks: If you’re on the fence about studying abroad: do it!! It will be one of the most amazing and enriching experiences in your life. There’s no way to experience a culture the way you experience it while studying abroad, which makes it a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Robin Trachtenberg: We had weekly events, including going to see Irish music and dancing, dog racing, and more. All of this was included in the program price. I made very good friends and even though it had only been six weeks, I felt like I had known the people I met a lot longer. We still keep in touch!

Florence, Italy
A Cultural Perspective: Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore The dome of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, just two blocks from the CEA Global Campus, became an icon and symbol of the city upon its completion in 1461. From the Renaissance era to today, Florentines proudly say that they were born “in the shadow” of their beloved “cupola”. Florentine Filippo Brunelleschi, the dome’s architect, designed and personally oversaw its construction. Recognized immediately as an architectural and engineering feat, the dome was the largest built since antiquity, and is today one of the largest cathedral domes in the world. Scaffolding for the construction of such a massive structure proved to be a major challenge, but Brunelleschi turned this potential difficulty into an opportunity to make himself a name in history forever. He not only built the dome, but he also developed a way to construct it without any interior scaffolding. Furthermore, the dome’s design embodied a tenet central to Renaissance thought: the integration of art and science. The dome is thus a fitting symbol of Florentine genius.
Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore As a CEA student in Florence, you will be able to climb the 463 steps to the top of Brunelleschi’s masterpiece, weaving between the two “shells” of the dome. From the top, you can enjoy one of the most remarkable views of the city below – Florence in the shadow of this Renaissance marvel.

Live and breathe history in Rome, also called the “Eternal City.” Rome’s history of global power and cultural leadership spans more than two millennia. Today the city is a hub of contemporary culture, cuisine and fashion, and is one of Europe’s major capitals of politics and commerce. Romans themselves are at once friendly and gregarious, and their love for their history and culture is often contagious. Although host to a rich religious Catholic culture and the home of the Vatican and the Pope, Rome’s history before Christianity is also evident in every angle of the ancient city. CEA courses enhance your experience of the city, highlighting for you Rome and Italy’s past and current importance in such fields as archaeology, history, business, and politics. To study in Rome is to take advantage of an educational environment unavailable anywhere else.

Rome, Italy
A Cultural Perspective: Rome’s Colosseum The Colosseum in Rome is one of the most recognizable monuments in the world, and the most impressive to modern visitors of the Eternal City. Those features that still invoke awe today – the structure’s incredible size and clever design – were actually part of its function during antiquity. The Colosseum was the entertainment center for the Ancient Roman public, where emperors could showcase in their capital city the political and economic power they held throughout the entire Roman Empire. Before roaring crowds, gladiators battled one another, and prisoners were pitted against ferocious wild animals from foreign lands.
The Colosseum in Rome
The Colosseum is a 15 minute Metro ride from the Rome Global Campus. As a CEA Rome student, you will have the opportunity to visit this magnificent ancient structure and to imagine the spectacles it hosted centuries ago. A tour will also encompass a visit to the spaces underground and “behind the scenes,” where gladiators would prepare, prisoners were kept, and animals were caged before they made their grand entrance on the arena above. CEA’s expert staff will help make the ancient spectacles come to life around you – an experience you will never forget!

Its wealth of rural tradition is now complemented by modern industrial development and commercial expansion, making Guadalajara a major center of commerce and business in the country. Even as Guadalajara continues to grow, it has held onto its rich culture through markets, museums and events. Students can explore its culture through the numerous marketplaces selling local handicrafts and regional cuisine and wander the streets regularly filled with citizens enjoying the plazas, outdoor concerts and theater performances. Guadalajara is home to artisans like Jose Clemente Orozco, whose murals are displayed throughout the city, and Ballet Folklorico, an internationally known dance troupe that performs traditional dances and interpretations of stories.

Traveling, volunteering with the youth of the townships, becoming friends with the locals, the sight of majestic mountains and coastlines, visiting game reserves and going to cricket and rugby games are all part of an incredible experience you will never forget. I absolutely LOVED South Africa and can’t wait to visit again!
Laura Weiss: I was constantly surrounded by students from all of the world (France, Sweden, Zimbabwe, South Africa, etc.) and was able to make some amazing friends. Kristina Lum: CEA is a great program because it gives you a lot of independence along with the feeling that you´ve got a family and got things to do. You´re not pressured to do certain things that other programs would make you do. Curra and Begonia make you feel welcome the second that you arrive and it´s great to have that feeling.

A Cultural Perspective: Real Madrid Soccer Nothing screams “Viva Spain!” louder than its soccer fans! This summer, CEA students enjoyed experiencing what it’s like to root for the home team while visiting beloved Madrid and watching Spain win its first-ever World Cup. The World Cup 2010 Finals proved truly exciting this summer in South Africa as both teams were playing for a first-ever World Cup trophy for their country. After both teams failed to score early on, the finals went into extra time with Spain’s Andres Iniesta dramatically kicking the ball mid-air into team Netherland’s net. The following award ceremony proved emotional as Spain now holds both the European championship and World Cup trophies! CEA students in Madrid can continue to enjoy the excitement of Spanish soccer (fútbol) while watching the local team, Real Madrid, play at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (pictured).

With a population less than 1 million, Seville offers you a small-town feel compared to Madrid and Barcelona. Located in Southern Spain, Seville is considered the guardian of all that is traditional Andalusian culture. Seville has a very centralized historic district, the largest in Europe, which is very pedestrian friendly. Renowned as the birthplace of flamenco dance, Seville also is home to stunning architecture, including the world’s largest Gothic cathedral, La Giralda, and the Alcazar – a 14th Century palace. Engage in true Seville culture through a myriad of traditional Spanish entertainment, including bullfighting, flamenco dance and festivals, such as Semana Santa and Feria de Abril. Lining the streets are terrace cafés where people meet to enjoy their afternoon café con leche. Relax at a local tapas bar to enjoy good food and conversation after a day of strolling through the shaded, winding alleyways of the Barrio Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter.

Begin Your Journey Check Your Eligibility All CEA Global Education programs require that students are at least 18 years of age and are high school graduates. Additional requirements vary by location, session and academic institution, all of which are listed online.
Review the Transfer Credit Processes While most students are able to transfer academic credit from a CEA program back to a home institution, all students should discuss their plans with a study abroad office representative and academic advisor. Study abroad policies and procedures differ at each university.
Planning Tips ;; Apply
Early
Applying well before the program closure date allows you time to find competitively priced airfare, confirm a space in popular programs that may reach capacity early, submit priority housing and course requests, and have plenty of time to obtain a passport and student visa (if necessary). CEA will accept applications 12-15 months before programs begin, so start yours today! ;; Consider
Multiple Programs
Participating in more than one program is a great way to extend a stay abroad, earn more credits and receive discounts! You can combine as many CEA programs as you wish as long as the dates do not conflict. Your Admissions Counselor can help find possible program combinations.
Consider Your Financing Options Many students use federal financial aid, student loans, scholarships or other types of funding to help pay their study abroad program fee. For assistance in financing study abroad, take advantage of CEA’s Student Finance Coordinator, online financial resources and CEA Scholarships.
Review CEA’s Policies When students apply to CEA, they also agree to all CEA policies, viewable at www.GoWithCEA.com/Policies.
Complete Your Application CEA will accept the paper application provided on the following pages, but applying online is much quicker.
Submit All Required Application Materials Required materials vary by program, but general items include a $95 non-refundable application fee and a copy of the most recent official or unofficial transcript. Some programs require additional documents. Applicants for summer programs must also submit a $300 non-refundable program confirmation at the time of application.

Agreement & Release 1. I understand that my participation in a study abroad program (“Program”) organized by CULTURAL EXPERIENCES ABROAD, INC. This agreement is a legally binding contract. 3. I acknowledge that I may engage in activities that involve risk of loss of property, personal injury, illness or death. I hereby assume all of the foregoing risks and I release, waive, discharge and agree to hold harmless CEA and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any loss or liability in any way relating thereto. I unconditionally release CEA from any claims for damage, injury, loss or expense of any nature resulting from events beyond its control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, strikes, crime, terrorism, sickness, or quarantine, government restrictions or regulations. This release also applies to any losses arising from the use of any vehicle or from the selection of, or from any act or omission by, any housing agency, host family, travel agency, transportation provider, hotel or excursion provider, host institution, company or individual. 4. I understand that I will be traveling to a foreign country, with different customs, standards, laws and risks than I am unaccustomed to. I understand and acknowledge that (a) I may become sick or injured while participating in a Program; (b) I may be arrested or imprisoned if I do not conform to local laws; (c) there exists crime in foreign countries and that I may be a victim of crime; and (d) I may not agree with local customs and standards. I accept the above-described risks and other risks associated with travel in, to and among foreign countries. I understand that as a Participant in the Program, I will be residing in housing arranged by CEA. I also understand that during the Program orientation, housing practices will be explained to me and a housing contract will be presented. I agree to abide by the terms of this Agreement and Release as well as any additional agreements or contracts required during the pendency of the program. In particular, and with respect to housing, I acknowledge and understand that I am solely responsible for my own possessions and safety of those possessions and, that CEA is not responsible for theft or burglary of my possessions, nor is CEA responsible for lost or misplaced possessions of mine at any time. If CEA incurs an expense on my behalf that is not covered by insurance, I agree to make immediate repayment upon my return. I also authorize release to CEA, through my signature below, protected health and mental health records, such release expiring on completion of the Program. By signing below and providing this release, I understand that: • I can revoke this Authorization at any time by giving my written revocation to the Disclosing Provider/Covered Entity. My revocation is not effective as to disclosures already made and actions already taken in reliance upon this Authorization. • I can refuse to sign this Authorization, and the disclosing provider/plan may NOT condition treatment, enrollment in the health plan or eligibility for benefits on whether I sign this Authorization. • I am authorizing disclosure of information protected under federal law. I understand that my participation may be terminated if I am expelled from school, deemed academically ineligible by the school, or otherwise disciplined by school or civil authorities, or if CEA, in its sole discretion, determines that my conduct is incompatible with the safety or welfare of other participants and/or myself, or, in any way undermines the Program. I agree to indemnify CEA if I do anything that causes CEA to sustain financial loss or liability. 9. I understand that CEA requires all participants to enroll in the CEA insurance plan. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to understand the limitations of this coverage and agree that CEA is not responsible for any uninsured losses. 10. I understand that CEA reserves the absolute right to reject my application or dismiss me from a Program if, after acceptance, CEA learns of a condition (personal, medical, academic and/or psychological) which in the reasonable opinion of CEA may endanger me or others, and/or puts me at risk in a foreign country, and/or shows a history of an inability to adapt to challenging situations, and/or creates or requires burdens and resources not required or necessary to maintain other students. 11. I consent to such use of my statements or photographs of me. I agree that CEA may add my name and e-mail address to an e-mail distribution list which will be shared by other participants on my Program, unless I notify CEA in writing otherwise. 12. I authorize CEA to release my Application and supporting documentation to my host institution(s), my home institution(s), their personnel and CEA Staff. 13. I understand that CEA or the sponsoring academic institution reserves the right to make changes, cancellations or substitutions to the Program for insufficient enrollment, emergency or changed conditions or based upon the interest of the group. I understand that any expenses incurred due to these changes, cancellations or substitutions are at my expense. If I choose to leave the Program as a result of these changes, I understand there will be no refund of program fees or of any expenses already paid. 14. I understand that obtaining a passport and any other required travel documents is my sole responsibility. Whether I am a U.S. citizen or not, I shall hold CEA harmless in the event I cannot or choose not to obtain the necessary documents for participation in the Program. I understand that the inability to obtain these visas and other documents does not constitute grounds for a refund or waiving any program fees. 15. Any action or suit brought relating to this Application or my participation in a Program must be commenced and maintained in the appropriate state court of Arizona, located in Phoenix, Arizona or a Federal district court located in Phoenix, Arizona as applicable. The parties irrevocably consent to jurisdiction and venue in such courts for such purposes and agree not to seek transfer or removal of any action commenced in any such court, and agree that Arizona law applies irrespective of any conflict of laws analysis. In the event either party hereto institutes an action or other proceedings to enforce any rights arising under this Application, the party prevailing in such action or other proceeding will be paid all reasonable costs and attorney’s fees by the other party. Such fees are to be set by the court and not by a jury and to be included in any judgment or award entered in such proceeding. 16.
