Q. Thanks for interviewing with us; tell everyone who you are and what you do?

A. My style of music is difficult to explain. I’m an artist and songwriter that likes to bring different things to the industry, like story-telling through my music. When I’m in the studio writing a record, I think about how I want my listeners to feel. All my music, I really put a lot of thought into it and think of each of my releases almost as visual art.

Q. Tell us about your new single “Hands on Me” and the motivation behind it?

A. My motivation behind the record is the trials and tribulations I’ve gone through. As a single mother who has experienced racism and sexism, I want to show people that you can become anything you want. In life you’re always going to have “hands on you”. When I say hands on you, I mean you’re going to always have problems. It never ends. You still need to keep running and pushing through. It's ok to feel some type of way though, because we're all humans. You have to learn to overcome things without complaining about it and just knowing this is a part of life. I want the song to be a positive influence on people, to say “no pity parties, keep pushing”. It doesn’t stop.

Q. Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?

A. On top of the world. I’m very spiritual. I know what god is showing me, saying “Look Bella, this is your time”. I see myself with awards, that kind of thing. I see myself doing what I want to do and I don’t see myself being held back in any way.

Q. How would you describe the music that you typically create?

A. I like to describe my music as very impactful, especially if you take the time to listen to my lyrics. Don’t get me wrong, the music is wavy, but I think if people sit down and listen to the words, I feel like they will see I’m someone they can relate to. It’s the worst thing when someone tells you they understand, when they really don’t. I know a lot of women have been through what I’ve been through. I want to be that person that people can look up to and say “if she did it, I KNOW I can do it”

Q. Who would you like to collaborate with?

A. Drake, for sure. Andre 3000 - oh my god, girl, I would faint. He is so dope to me as a person. Missy Elliott. Don Oliver - he’s super dope.

Q. How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?

A. I think the internet has helped the music business a little. It benefits the music industry right now especially with COVID, we can’t travel or do many live shows so it’s dope that I can reach people in places I never even thought about travelling to.

Q. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

A. I wouldn’t change anything. I think that the industry is exactly where it needs to be. Everything has to have a balance. It can’t be perfect. If it was, it wouldn’t be fun. I wouldn’t change it, and it is what it is.

Q. Are you working on any new events or projects?

A. I have two new singles and visuals coming out early next year. I can’t disclose the song names just yet, but I think you’re going to love them.

Q. What is one fun fact about yourself?

A. I’m really goofy and I think people wouldn’t look at me and see that. I don’t take myself too seriously. People always say “You look so mean”, but I’m not even thinking about them. It helps me to not take myself too seriously, it’s therapeutic really.
