Q. Who motivated you to be the man you are today?

A. Honestly, several people play a major part in my current motivation, but I would have to credit my grandfather John Frank Bond for my inspiration to want to build a legacy to leave behind.

Q. Tell us about MICC (Music Industry Crash Course) and what courses you offer?

A. The MICC (Music Industry Crash Course) is an educational curriculum that I created to give upcoming recording artists and music professionals of all backgrounds some of the basic music business knowledge needed to start obtaining royalties from their music. The course covers topics such as Music Publishing, PRO (Performance Rights Organizations) song registration, Copyright registration, Split Sheets, and more.

Q. Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?

A. Working out of my Nashville office on Music Row 3-4 days a week and traveling across the country on the remaining days doing speaking engagements, and educational workshops/ seminars. Managing 2-3 songwriters/ producers, as well as maintaining a stable balance of family time with my loved ones.

Q. Tell us about you book “Indie Music Major Business” and the motivation behind it?

A. I wrote the book Indie Music Major Business based off of my hands-on experiences and knowledge gained thus far, from being in the music industry.

I wanted to be a direct example to readers, specifically starving artists like myself, who struggle to understand the business side of this industry and fail to reap the benefits from their talent to make music. I’ve always been big on advocating for the artists and I feel that by empowering them with the proper education and steps to take, will ultimately put them in a better position to succeed.

Q. How do you handle adversity and doubt being in the industry?

A. Trials and tribulations are a part of life in general, so I don’t approach difficulties in the music business any different. I am grounded by my faith in God and I lean on the positive energy and encouragement of my close circle to keep me going when time get rough. I always say to myself that it is ok to take a break, just don’t STOP going! The moment that you actually quit; you guarantee that you will not make it...

Q. Do you have any projects or events for 2021?

A. We are actually rescheduling the official book signing for January 2021 and will be celebrating 20 years of my brand Money United with Game, in conjunction with the fist “Indie Music Major Business Concert Connect,” a live performance showcase and networking event for independent artists. I plan on putting some time into building my nonprofit organization We Owe Us Foundation, as well as releasing some more music.

Q. What’s the biggest factor that has helped you be successful?

A. Aside from God’s favor and surrounding myself with the right people, I can’t stress it enough that getting myself educated on the business side of the music industry is the primary reason for my success!

Q. Can you tell us what has been your most satisfying moment in business?

A. Getting an office space for the company was definitely a highlight moment, but to be able to hang my #1 Billboard plaque on the wall, that my mom surprised me with as a birthday gift was priceless!!

Q. Where can the readers follow you?

A. They can follow me on all platforms @MUG$_Amillion.
