MUG$ AMILLION
Q. Thanks for interviewing with us. Tell everyone who you are and what you do? A. My name is MUG$ Amillion, also known as Lee Evans “The Write Hook”. I am an award-winning recording artist, Billboard songwriter, Music Consultant/ Instructor for The MICC (Music Industry Crash Course), and more recently the author of “Indie Music Major Business: A Guide To Your First Royalty Check”.
A. I wrote the book Indie Music Major Business based off of my hands-on experiences and knowledge gained thus far, from being in the music industry. I wanted to be a direct example to readers, specifically starving artists like myself, who struggle to understand the business side of this industry and fail to reap the benefits from their talent to make music. I’ve always been big on advocating for the artists and I feel that by empowering them with the proper education and steps to take, will ultimately put them in a better position to succeed.
Q. Who motivated you to be the man you are today? A. Honestly, several people play a major part in my current motivation, but I would have to credit my grandfather John Frank Bond for my inspiration to want to build a legacy to leave behind. Q. Tell us about MICC (Music Industry Crash Course) and what courses you offer? A. The MICC (Music Industry Crash Course) is an educational curriculum that I created to give upcoming recording artists and music professionals of all backgrounds some of the basic music business knowledge needed to start obtaining royalties from their music. The course covers topics such as Music Publishing, PRO (Performance Rights Organizations) song registration, Copyright registration, Split Sheets, and more.

Q. How do you handle adversity and doubt being in the industry? A. Trials and tribulations are a part of life in general, so I don’t approach difficulties in the music business any different. I am grounded by my faith in God and I lean on the positive energy and encouragement of my close circle to keep me going when time get rough. I always say to myself that it is ok to take a break, just don’t STOP going! The moment that you actually quit; you guarantee that you will not make it... Q.
