PANTHERS TAKE DOWN THE RAMS 17-3 IN EDGEWOOD

The Panther Varsity Baseball Team finally broke out of it’s hitting slump recording 8 hits and only striking out 4 times on its way to a 17 – 2 win over host Edgewood. The story of the day was Freshman Pitcher Zack Bines who pitched a complete game striking out 9 hitters and allowing just 6 hits to get the victory.

Senior Zach Ayers had a homerun in the game as the Panthers are now 3-3 and preparing to play Rising Sun on April 4.

Rising Sun Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning For Victory Over Bel Air Bobcats

BEL AIR - The Rising Sun

Lady Tigers snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over the Bel Air Bobcats on Friday. Rising Sun was down 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Jayden Simpkins singled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs.

Rising Sun earned the victory despite allowing Bel Air to score four runs in the fifth inning. Kyrsten Coppage and Ava Vecchioni all contributed in the big inning with RBIs for the Bobcats.

The Lady Tigers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Cadence Williams singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Faith McCullough led things off on the rubber for Rising Sun going four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out nine.

Sadie Whittaker led things off in the circle for Bel Air. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing five runs on 12 hits and striking out five.

Rising Sun collected 12 hits on the day. Jordan Lynch, Josalyn Mc-

Millan, McCullough, and Williams all had multiple hits for the Tigers. Lynch led the team with three hits in four at bats.

Vecchioni went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bel Air in hits.
