ALL COUNTY GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM

Mattea Marra finished in the top 10 with a 9th place finish at the Susquehanna Division Championships. She competed in the 2A East Region Championships where she finished 27th with a personal record of 23:04.0

Emily Wishart emerged as Rising Sun’s top runner overall as she finished her senior season with a 2nd plac finish in the Cecil County Championships.

Emily placed 5th at the 2A East Regional Championships and 38th in the 2A State Championships. She also placed 7th at the Chesapeake Division Championships and 11th at the UCBAC Championships.

Sophomore Skylar Pizzulli had a great season with seven Top 4 finishes in 10 events.

Skylar placed 3rd at the Susquehanna Division Championships and set a PR with a 4th place finish at the 1A East Region Championships.

Senior Kathryn Scott is one of only two athletes to place on the All County list in two sports during this Fall Season. Kathryn is also a member of the Bo Manor Field Hockey Team.

Kathryn finished 5th at the 1A East Region Championships in the 3mile with a PR of 20:51.8. She went on to a Top 10 finish at the 1A State Championships where she placed 10th with a time of 22:25.9

Senior Kaitlin Perry had a PR of 35:43.0 her freshman year on the Tigers Cross Country team and kept getting faster each year. Her Senior season she set a PR of 22:36.4 in the 3 mile distance. She also set a new PR in the 5,000 meters race of 22:26.3.

Kaitlin finished 25th at the 2A East Regional Championships and 60th at the 2A State Championships.

Katie is one of only two athletes this fall to place on the All County list in two sports. In addition to running on the Cross Country Team for Rising Sun she is also a member of the Field Hockey Team.

Katie finished 7th at the 2A East Region Championships with a Personal Record of 20:48.7. At the State Championships she placed 24th

Rising Sun Tigers 12th Grade

Amanda has been a team leader for the Tigers running teams not only in Cross Country but also in Track.

Amanda started the season with a 17th place finish at the Rumble in the Jungle. She placed 23rd at the UCBAC Chesapeake Championships and set a season record in the 3 mile of 22:07.7 at the 2A East Region Championships where she placed 19th.

Rising Sun Tigers 12th Grade

Senior Savannah Lacey started the season strong with an 8th place finish in the Rumble in the Jungle. A knee injury hampered her abilities towards the end of the season.

Savannah placed 29th at the 2A East Regional Championships and 68th in the 2A State Championships.

Coach Sprout has been an amazing coach this past season. With her constant motivation and encouragement, she brought a flame to our team which inspired us all to reach beyond what we thought was possible. Along with that, she brought our whole cross country team together and made us feel like a family. Throughout all the hardcore workouts, she managed to make cross country enjoyable and fun. Inside and outside of cross country she pushed and encouraged us all to do well in school as well as being better people in our lives. It is an honor to have Coach Sprout throughout this amazing season.
