Burkhardt is relying on his four senior captains to provide the leadership and guidance needed to succeed on a young team. Rachel Mullins will take over as setter, feeding the ball to middle blocker Virginia Coker and hitter Delaney Stanley while Alexandra Schaible commands the back defensive line as libero for the Indians. “A majority of our team is coming up from the JV program, so they are making a big transition and filling in the remaining spots.” The Indians’ season begins on their home court September 6th versus Patterson Mill but, matches against county and division rival Elkton could be the games to watch for this season.
