Looking To Lead Team Past Regionals In 2022

RISING SUN - It was a slow start for Rising Sun last season, but once things clicked, the Tigers came out swinging. Finishing 8-9 overall, including a trip to the 2A East Region Finals, Rising Sun found some much needed late season success, going 7-3 in their final ten games.

After graduating three All-County players, second year head coach Logan Bowers is relying heavily on the seniors for leadership, “our juniors who are now seniors this year, I’m really counting on them to step up.” Captains Bella Brumfield, Mollee Fraker, and Madison Weil are expected to run the team in their final year as Tigers. “I’m looking for Mollee to have a really good year on the right side” Bowers noted. “I’ve also got a couple of juniors that were brought up who I think are going to fit in very well, defensively.”

On the offensive side, look for junior Addison Pierce and sophomore Kendra Watters to

2021 SEASON RECAP:

- Finished the season 8-9 overall

- Shut out Harford Tech and Elkton in first two playoff matches

- Lost to Fallston in 2A East Regional Finals

- Graduated three All-County players: Anna Carder, Katelyn Norman-Wilson and Cassidy Dolan get some playing time as outside hitters. Both Pierce and Watters were brought up from JV during the Tigers’ playoff run last year. Rising Sun will open their 2022 campaign at home against North Harford on September 9th but look for the matchups against county rival Bo Manor on October 4th and again October 28th as games to watch for this season. The Tigers took the Eagles to a fifth set last year, coming close to handing Bo Manor their lone county loss.
