RED DOG Date: Friday 17 January 2014

Time: 6.30pm

Cost: Free

Rated: PG

Red Dog is a true story of a charismatic Kelpie who united a mining community in the North West in the 1970s and ‘80s. The movie was adapted from the novel of the same name by Louis De Bernières. The nickname Red Dog has been attributed to the red dirt of the Pilbara region and his travels which took him as far afield as Perth, Broome, Dampier and our very own home town Port Hedland. A funny and heart warming story that provides a glimpse into the tough conditions in the Pilbara in the 70s and good old Aussie mateship.

JANUARY 11 Backyard Ashes

Dougie loves backyard cricket with his mates and while playing he hits a ball that accidentally stuns Edward his pompous Englishman boss’s prize winning cat, Dexter. The cat falls into the roaring BBQ and is instantly incinerated. Footage of the unfortunate event is captured and uploaded onto YouTube where it instantly goes viral!

Backyard Ashes is an entertaining family comedy that uses the famous Australian past time of backyard cricket as an analogy for the bitte sporting rivalry between England and Australia. Starring Andrew S Gilbert, Felix Williamson, Rebecca Massey, John Wood and Damian Callinan; be ready to be entertained !
