Who would have thought the outback was wheelchair accessible? Strap yourself in as four Aussie blokes swap wheelchairs for quad bikes and embark on the ride of their lives. This documentary charts their 5,000km adventure across the outback, as they visit the crash sites where their lives changed forever. Three men are paraplegics and one a quadriplegic, making this no ordinary road movie. Their encounters with mud, deserts, floods and exhaustion test their resilience and endurance to breaking point. Fuelled by bold humour and disarming honesty, The Ride is a wild traverse across the terrain of the human spirit, as four men make peace with the tragedy of their past. Date: Thursday 24 October, 7pm Duration: 63 minutes Tickets: Free entry, but small donation requested

ANTON

Anton had his crash when he was 17 years old. He let his unlicensed 15-year-old girlfriend drive - he thought he might get lucky. He didn’t. She flipped the car on a dirt road and both life, and his aspirations of becoming a pro golfer were lost.

Craig was a motocross champion when he was injured at 16 during a major competition in WA. As he lay in his hospital bed staring at the ceiling, he couldn’t even lift up his hand if it spasmed onto his face.

JIM

CRAIG

Jim’s was 25 when he crashed. It was near Birdsville during a motorcycle race from Sydney to Darwin. He was attempting to overtake a car to make up time. Because Jim was knocked unconscious in the accident, he doesn’t actually know where his crash site is.

Terry became a paraplegic at the tender age of 15, riding his motocross bike on the outskirts of Collie, a small town in country Western Australia. The front wheel of the bike sank into a hole and he went over the handlebars, landing awkwardly on a log.

Enter the world created by debuting company Little y Theatre Company, a playful hyper-reality which will stimulate your senses in magical ways. Inspired by a Nasruddin Hodja story, Scent Tales is a delicious-smelling story of coming to one’s senses. Sibling rivalry is at the heart of this delightful, bitter sweet story about a jealous baker and her more fortunate sister. An eccentric, dry-witted narrator weaves a tale about baker Bea’s deep seated jealousy of the nomadic Sanji, which results in an incredible accusation. Will the recipe for Love Bread bring Bea to her senses? Be enchanted by the puppetry and poetry, delighted by the baked goods, and seduced by the Love Bread.
