Meet Your LTG My name is Cecilia Vega and I go to Manor New Tech High school, where I will be a senior for the 2016-2017 year. It is my absolute pleasure to serve as your Division 24S LTG! What this means is that I will be here to do anything from providing resources for the club’s newsletter or giving feedback on service projects to maybe even participating in service events with your club! No matter what it is, it is my job & I will be super happy to help out!

My goals for the upcoming year are to: 1 - Strengthen our division by having 1-3 joint service projects 2 - Increase both monthly reporting & newsletters submitted 3 - Reactivate the 4 inactive/suspended clubs in our division

My dedication to serving others has no bounds! The smiles I caused to form on people’s faces when I volunteer to determining the lives I’ve saved through the Eliminate project are the greatest moments of my life thus far. I chose to be LTG so I can help clubs do more of what is good in the world! Alongside absolutely caring for others and wanting to develop leadership in others, I love to immerse myself in my studies. When Key Club nor school is in my schedule, I love reading fantasy books, attending concerts, playing with my puppy, and running!

DCM You are invited to the first 24S Divisional Council Meeting of the 2016-2017 year!

Who?

All officers, but advisors and members are free to come!

When?

Saturday, May 28, 2016 - 10:40 AM -12:00 PM

Where?

Twin Oaks (Austin Public Library) 1800 S 5th St, Austin, TX 78704 This meeting is MANDATORY, but it won’t be a waste of time. Instead of a training session, it will be more of a social meeting! I want our division to be united and this meeting will enable that! I also want to meet you all and check up on how familiar you are with the duties for Key Club at the district and international level. There will also be snacks! I will send out the agenda as we get closer to that day! Please let me know if you will be able to make it or not by May 16th by letting me know through text message at (512) 200-6952. If you don’t let me know by then, I’ll just send you constant messages until you respond! And yes, I’ll be that person because I am determined to make our division successful. 9

Meet Your Governor I am honored to serve as the new Governor for the amazing Texas-Oklahoma District whose motto is “Whatever it takes!” I am aware of the hard work and dedication this position entails and I am more than willing to go above and beyond. I want to be able to prove to you that I am worthy of your trust and be an amazing servant leader with you all! My three main goals for this year, are to grow our membership by reactivating suspended clubs, do my best to visit every region, and build unity between the k-family by encouraging inter-clubs. All of this is possible if each one of us (320 clubs, and about 19,300 members) puts our piece of the puzzle. My Governors Project this year, will focus on helping the American Cancer society. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US, and affects many of us either directly or indirectly. With knowing many people who have been affected by cancer in many ways including myself, I have chosen this as my Governor’s Project. Words will never be able to explain how much I owe to the Kiwanis organization and Key Club. Being a part of these two amazing organizations has helped me become the person I am today. From being on board as the Lieutenant Governor for Division 5 my freshman-sophomore year, I knew being a part of Key Club was set in my path. I cannot wait to see all the experiences this year has in store for us! I am currently a junior at the Judson Early College Academy and originally from Los Angeles, California. When I’m not volunteering, I spend my time playing soccer, dancing, or at my parish. I would like to thank everyone for supporting me and once again would like to say how honored I am to be serving you as your 2016-2017 Texas-Oklahoma District Governor! Yours in Service,

Dianna Cardenas
