If installing a 12W 700mA driver the maximum number of 3W lamps or fittings that can be connected is four (which is 4x3W) 12 Watts
High Power LED Lamps
Sometimes Single chip LED are also known as high power LED. LED lamps & fittings need drivers like low voltage lighting lamps & fittings need 12V transformers. Constant Voltage Drivers: Multi LED Lamps require Constant Voltage Drivers. Lamps or fittings are wired in parallel (see fig 1.) so that the voltage remains constant. Constant Current Drivers: Single chip LED Lamps require constant current drivers, which is normally 350mA for 1 watts high power LED and 700mA for 3 watts high power LED for 350mA drivers normally voltage is 12v but voltage can be different is some cases and 700mA drivers normally voltage is 24v but the voltage can be different is some cases, constant current LED or fittings are normally wired in series (see fig 2.). The maximum number of fittings or lamps that can be used with the driver depends on the maximum wattage of the driver being used. If installing a 12W 350mA driver the maximum number of 1W lamps or fittings that can be connected is twelve

Fire Hoods FH Range:
The CED Fire Hood Range is used with mains or low voltage downlights. The hood is made from a breathable material, which allows heat from the lamp to be efficiently dissipated, preventing overheating of the terminal block and fitting The fire hood swells up in the presence of fire, which provides a barrier against the flame thus sealing the void left by the downlighter. It therefore retains the ceilings fire protection integrity. The fire hood will last for at least 66 minutes and is suitable for up to 60-minute fire rated ceilings

LIGHTING FOR BATHROOMS With the introduction of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations the IEE have redefined the zones for the installation of electrical equipment in bathrooms. The new regulations came in to effect from 30th of June 2008. The zones are now identified from 0 to 2 and apply to the different areas of the bathroom as per the diagram below.

Zone 0 The inside of the bath or shower. Fittings must be max. 12v and have a minimum of IPX7 rating. Zone 1 The area directly above zone 0, limited to 2.25m vertically above the bottom of the shower. (Or the height of a fixed shower head if higher than that). Also it extends to 1.2m horizontally from the centre of the shower outlet up to the height stated above. Fittings must be IPX4 or higher. Zone 2 This includes any area beyond zone 0 and 1 up to 2.25m vertically or 0.6m horizontally. Also includes any recessed window with a sill next to the bath. IP rating of fittings must be IPX4 minimum.
