MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURE 7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” John 13:7(NIV)
I came into this world on June 8, 1999 just a tad bit earlier than expected. I had these great parents, Mr. Harry and Mrs. Aunisa Grant of Houston, TX who loved God and He immediately knew that they would be perfect for me. He entrusted me into their care for these past wonderful, exciting and adventurous 20 years. I was their first child and they were so excited to share me with the world. I accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Castro L. Walker Sr., Pastor. I was an active member of the church, participating in Sunday School, VBS, Tiny Tots Choir, Young Voices of Praise and Fruits of the Spirit Praise Dance, just to name a few. While growing up, there was no denying that I truly loved dancing, cheering, singing, listening to music, makeup and fashion. Now if you followed me on any social media platform, you know I didn’t miss a beat. A social butterfly in my own lane. With all this going on, giving back and helping others was something I enjoyed most. I loved my friends and family and you all know that. I’m grateful to have been a loving, caring and outgoing young lady who lived life and most importantly loved God. I was blessed with inner and outer beauty and an energetic presence. Whenever I was around there would never be a dull moment. I attended Pre-K at Douglas Elementary School. Then I began my education journey at none other than the number one HISD Elementary School, Lockhart Elementary. There, I formed a bond with some amazing people that will outlast this lifetime. From there I had the best time ever at Johnston Middle School (currently Meyerland MS). In June 2017, I became a graduate of Benjamin O’ Davis HS.
I stayed active and participated in multiple extra-curricular activities as well as community service events (Cheerleading, Young Harmonies of Houston Inc, Doll Collection Diamonds, etc). These community service events afforded me the opportunity to receive a multitude of scholarships. With the love, support, and blessings from my parents, I was able to attend The Prairie View A&M University. Majoring in Criminal Justice with a double Minor in Forensic Science and Psychology, while there I was a part of several organizations such as SPOT and One Accord Mime Ministries just to name a few. I played hard but I worked even harder. My parents were tough but fair and they LOVED me unconditionally. All this love allowed me to experience college and stay on The Dean’s List every semester. To all of you holding on to my memory, may it never fade. God knows that never physically talking to me or seeing me again is going to be hard. But find comfort in knowing that to be absent from the flesh means that you are present with the Lord. I am with my Heavenly Father. I am preceded in death by my grandparents, Cator Thomas and Nancy Bell. I leave to cherish my wonderful, fabulous, fantastic memories, my parents Mr. Harry and Mrs. Aunisa Grant., and three little sisters that I love dearly, Liberti, Jay’la and Jay’Lynn. Four aunts, Fredonia Lynch, Eunice Sinegal, Janice Sweeney and Kala Thomas. Special Aunts, Audreu Boyce , Jessica Thornton, Lakeyshia Smith, Qioanna Erwin, Tiesha Ward, Natasha Mitchell, Nicolette Cooksey and Danielle Pendleton. One Special Uncle, James Boyce, Jr. Three uncles, Eric Sweeney (Naji Ali) of Houston, Tx, Josh Grant and Justin Grant of North Carolina. Grandparents Curly and Danett Lynch of Houston, Tx., Rita Sinegal of Port Arthur., Harry and Felicia Grant Sr of North Carolina. Godparents Tamika Hudson, Dewale Oresanya an John and Kenya Dixon. Bestfriend Tierra Ross and Boyfriend KeShawn Kirven. And the best Nana a girl could ask for, Catherine “Ann” Taylor.

Hey Poobie...... W-Y-D-I-N........ MAN those letters, that phrase, that language, that line of communication or whatever you want to call it. I just know at any given time WHENEVER I press that send button from my phone to you without any doubts minutes later you would reply with a fly message! I found myself texting you those letters, that phrase, that language, that line of communication and you didn’t reply back. Daddy is getting so weak writing this because I love you dearly and miss you! I remember the day I got your name tattooed on my chest I was so excited! You will forever be in our hearts Poobie. Don’t worry about us we will be alright! I got your message through Keshuan. Rest Poobie. Love Always, Daddy
Dear Big Sis, The only thing I can think of saying right now, is that I love you. There isn’t a day that goes by that you’re not on my mind. It weighs heavy on my heart that my big sister isn’t here and near. How I’ll miss our little chats and Facetime calls, us just being the goofy sisters. I’ll miss just hearing you sing any time of the day. Any time you walked in a room, you could definitely put a smile on anyone’s face. Your smile alone could brighten anyone’s day, it definitely always brightened mine on a bad day. You lived your life to the fullest and you definitely wouldn’t have had it any other way. I know you’re somewhere better and I know you’re at peace. God got you baby girl, that I know. You’re a beautiful soul and my angel in the sky. I love you big sis. Fly high and watch over the family. #grantsistersforever Libby
To my big sister (Aero), As a little sister Aerial and I had a close bond! We laughed, cried, argued, and fought but we always showed the love we had for each other. When I needed anything Aerial was always there for me! All the memories we shared is what is what I will remember. My first words were (Aero). We grew up together to find a difference in love that became so strong. Aerial never left my side, even when she left for PVU. She was like my other twin because we look just alike. She was a wonderful big sister. We still had plans to do everything. We had plans to go school shopping this year! I love you and I will miss you. I could have never chosen a better older sister. Love your youngest sister, JayLynn (Pookie)
Dear big sister, The words that’s going to come out of my mouth is I miss you and I love you so much . You were a beautiful big sister. You were a sister that cared about everybody in the family! You are smart, pretty, encouraging and an amazing person Aerial. I will always have you in my heart Aerial. I really miss you so much and I do wish you were still here listening and laughing to what I am saying. I will always remember your leadership and you having me do the same things like you. I stay wanting to sing just like you and you would tell me to keep practicing and I will get better at it. I will miss you taking us to the nail shop! My last conversation with you was about you getting me and JayLnn the Airbnb for our 15th birthday! You will never know how happy we were. The family and your friends miss you so much but now God has you in His care. I love you Aerial rest in peace big sister! Love Always, Jayla

A mere “thank you” seems so inadequate. We’re so grateful that Jehovah has blessed us with such special people in our lives that have helped us through this most difficult time. With much love, The Grant Family
