En Mango Chile, la primera exposición individual de Nuria Mora en México, la artista española presenta una gama de obras eclécticas que resultan de su mes de residencia en Celaya Brothers Gallery. Las piezas que la constituyen hablan de las impresiones de Nuria Mora en su recorrido por las calles de una de las ciudades más grandes del mundo. A partir de su coexistencia con el ámbito urbano, hace una reflexión que plasma en cada una de las obras que presenta en diversos materiales.
In Nuria Mora’s first solo show in Mexico entitled Mango Chile, the Spanish artist presents a variety of eclectic artworks that result from her monthlong residency at Celaya Brothers Gallery. The pieces that make up the exhibition illustrate the artist’s impressions of her walks through the streets of one of the largest cities in the world. In Mango Chile, she translates the reflections that sprung from her coexistence with the urban environment to every one of the pieces made in diverse formats.
Con la delicadeza que la distingue, la artista logra extraer la estética de nuestra cotidianeidad. De la saturación visual de los mercados, los tianguis y las calles, de ese caleidoscopio de colores y sabores, rescata elementos gráficos y los convierte en objetos plásticos potentes.
With the finesse that characterises her, Nuria Mora manages to extract the aesthetics from our everyday lives. She rescues graphic elements from the visual saturation of the markets and the streets, from that kaleidoscope of colors and flavors, and turns them into highly potent artworks.
A la par, y sin dejar de tomar como referencia e inspiración la calle, Nuria Mora hace un ejercicio sobre su quehacer como artista. La serie de “Boyas” hace referencia a este objeto flotante, protector, que remite a la artista a la idea de hacer arte como terapia; mientras que la pieza “Aplomo” resalta la importancia de la solidez y la constancia en la autodefinición de la artista. De esta manera, Mango Chile se convierte en un poema plástico en el que se entrelazan el mundo interior de Nuria Mora con el exterior.
At the same time, and taking the streets as a reference and inspiration, Nuria Mora reflects on her job as an artist. The series “Boyas” (Buoys) makes reference to the floating, protective object that remits the artist to the idea of making art as a form of therapy; while “Aplomo” highlights the significance of strength and perseverance in the artist’s self-definition. Thus, Mango Chile becomes a plastic poem which intertwines Nuria Mora’s interior world with the impact of this metropolis.

Nuria Mora utiliza el espacio público como soporte y medio de modo constructivo y no invasivo. Su obra tanto exterior como interior se inspira en lo urbano y en la comunidad que lo habita. Trabaja con diversos materiales que van desde papel, madera y vidrio, hasta lo multimedia. Al indagar en tan diversos campos creativos, su constante es reivindicar el componente humano, el error. En cada uno de sus proyectos busca plasmar sus propias experiencias e impresiones del lugar en donde trabaja. Su obra ha sido expuesta en galerías y museos internacionales, entre los que destacan el Tate Modern de Londres, la Fundación Joan Miró en Barcelona y la Fundación Pilar y Joan Miró en Mallorca, y el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Johannesburgo.
Nuria Mora uses the public space as a medium in a constructive, non-invasive manner. Her artwork both indoor and on the street is inspired in the urban surrounding and the community that inhabits it. She works with materials that range from paper, wood and glass, to multimedia. Though she inquires in different creative fields, her constant is to redeem the human component, the error. In every one of her projects, she seeks to capture her own experiences and impressions of the place w h e re s h e f i n d s h e rs e l f . H e r a r t wo r k h a s been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, such as the Tate Modern in London, The Joan Miró and Pilar and Joan Miró Foundations in Barcelona and Mal lorca, and The Museum of Contemporary Art of Johannesburg.
Nuria también es integrante del colectivo “Equipo Plástico” junto a SixeArt, Eltono & Nano4814.
