2501 | Milán, 1981 2501 inició haciendo graffiti cuando tenía 14 años. Posteriormente, estudió una Licenciatura en Edición de Cine y una Maestría en Comunicación Visual. A los 20 años se mudó a São Paulo, Brasil, donde se unió a un proyecto enseñando pintura a niños de las favelas. Gracias a dicho proyecto, entró en contacto con la escuela de graffiti sudamericana con representantes como Os Gemeos, Herbert Baglione, Higraff, Zezao, entre muchos otros. Esa experiencia fue determinante en su aproximación a la pintura. A los 26 años decide concentrarse exclusivamente en su carrera artística. Primero bajo el alias “Robot Inc” y luego como “2501”, ha desarrollado un nuevo estilo que combina muralismo, pintura sobre lienzo, escultura, instalación, fotografía, video y documental. Utiliza líneas ondulantes negras y blancas para conformar formas que juegan entre lo figurativo y lo abstracto. Sus obras, llenas de movimiento y fuerza, capturan la imaginación y brindan una especie de receso introspectivo dentro de los monótonos visuales de la vida citadina. El carácter interdisciplinario de su investigación refleja su acercamiento a la vida y el conocimiento.

2501 began painting graffiti at 14 years old. Later, he studied Bachelor in Film Editing and a Master on Visual Communication. At the age of 20 he moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he joined a project teaching children of the favelas to paint. There he got in contact with the South American graffiti school, represented by Os Gemeos, Herbert Baglione, Higraff and Zezao, among many others. That experience changed his approach to painting. In 2005 he decided to focus exclusively on his career as an artist. First known as “Robot Inc” and later as “2501”, he has developed a new style which combines urban art, canvas, sculpture, installation, photography, video and documentary. He uses wavy, black and white lines to create forms that go from figurative to abstract. His works, full of movement and energy, capture our imagination and give us the possibility of an introspective break from the visual monotony of the urban life. The interdisciplinary character of his research truly mirrors his approach to life and knowledge.

FELIPE PANTONE | Buenos Aires, 1986 Felipe Pantone estudió Bellas Artes en el Reino Unido; sin embargo, su interés siempre ha estado enfocado en el arte público. Su trabajo parte de las dinámicas del espacio virtual, siendo el Internet su tema central. En sus pinturas, esculturas, audiovisuales y murales yuxtapone e incluso hibrida lenguajes artísticos, científicos y electrónicos. Retoma elementos del Op Art, Kinetic Art y el formalismo, los mezcla con elementos de la cultura popular para finalmente trasladarlos a la hipermodernidad. Su estética tiende a la síntesis formal dejando únicamente alusiones a la corriente tecno-urbana; es decir, geometría computacional y colores sólidos. Con ello, Pantone dirige nuestra atención a la era digital y la creciente velocidad con la que la tecnología se desarrolla. Desde el 2014, ¬Felipe Pantone ha creado piezas escultóricas – imágenes digitales tridimensionales – con las que explora sus temas recurrentes desde perspectivas alternas. En el 2016 fue invitado realizar una residencia en el estudio de Carlos Cruz-Diez, una de las figuras más importantes del arte óptico y cinético. Ese mismo año fue invitado por el Palais de Tokyo a realizar un trabajo hipnótico dentro del túnel Duplex A86, cubriendo una zona de 4000 metros cuadrados. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en importantes galerías en Asia, Australia, Europa y Latinoamérica.

Felipe Pantone studied Arts in the UK, nevertheless his interest has always been centered on public art. His work is focused on the dynamics of the virtual space, using the Internet as the main theme. In his paintings, sculptures, audiovisual pieces and murals, he juxtaposes and even hybridizes artistic, scientific and electronic languages. He takes up elements from Op Art, Kinetic Art and formalism, mixed with elements of the popular culture and morphs them into a hypermodern state. His aesthetics tend towards a formal synthesis leaving only allusions to the techno-urban stream like computational geometry and solid colors. Pantone directs our attention to the digital era and the increasing velocity in which technology is developed. In 2016, he was invited to a Residency Program with Carlos Cruz-Diez, one of the most representative figures of Op and Kinetic Art. That same year, he was invited by Palais of Tokyo to create an hypnotic intervention inside the Duplex A86 tunnel, covering a 400-square-feet area. His works has been exhibited in important galleries in Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America.
