The residence is designed for a teacher of chess and is located beside the river in historic downtown c The building plan encompasses three different worlds of chess: Learning, Leisure and Professional

the display case on the south wall holds the tables for the tournament. after the four tables are removed the empty spaces left over allow for the seating of the attendees

inspiration for the ourdoor program of the garden comes from the public chess tables of new yorks central park.

The pavillion is designed to mimic the path of a leaf that get blown upwards by the wind.

the slow meandering path changes into a smooth but steeply ascent before reaching a platform that allows the visitor to relax after the climb.

False Bridge is built on the foundations of the old patullo bridge in british columbia. it reclaims old infrastructure the steel sheets that made up three old bridge and folds the plates to form a pavillion that looks out onto the fraser river.

Symbiosis

is a project that allows 4 small pods to operate i n d e p e n d a n t ly by depending on eachother.

The central core

of the building holds all the utilities and wet systems and is static while each individual living pod is easily customizable shape and size.

[above] In this project i chose to explore the various ways a living complex could be formed without compromising light and obstructing the view of the original houses on the site.

Each unit is made of two levels split into public and private and can house anywhere between 1-5 people
