refugee housing studio 2a final | independant project
Objective: to progrmamatically challenge the every day living formation of the
suburban home as defined by the grand domestic revolution the standard suburban home provides varying degrees of privacy and occupancies that can alienate homestay refugees in the current government system. as a refugee there are many opportunities within the gradients of spaces to retreat into ones self when reaching out is difficult, but a crucial step to finding a new home. by taking the principals of cooperative housing and applying them to the program of a residential home with added public programming, a home can help, mediate, facilitate and encourage a sense of personal place and belonging within a community.

Objective: given a site, build a wall, canopy or occupiable surface installation should be site specific

the installation seeks to define the growth of nature within a planned manner. each member rises from the ground, growing taller and wraping around the trees, drawing the eye from the rectilinear organization of the site to a natural playful, meandering path inspired by the torqued growth of the trees despite their linear formation.
