PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Erica Crabtree - Neumann University Junior - Attack Spring City, PA - Spring-Ford

Crabtree had a big opening week for the 3-0 Knights, posting 16 points, on 12 goals and four assists to go with nine ground balls. In Neumann’s 16-7 seasonopening win over Rutgers-Camden on Monday, Crabtree posted six points, on four goals and two assists, while adding three ground balls. Two days later, in the Kinghts’ 15-11 win over Arcadia, the junior scored seven goals to go with three ground balls. On Friday, in an 11-10 win over Wesley, Crabtree had three points, with a goal and two assists.

HONOR ROLL Taylor McKeown - Sr - Att - Marywood University

McKeown opened the season in fine fashion, scoring six goals with an assist in Marywood’s 18-14 win over Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday. She also added three ground balls and caused three turnovers.

The Cavaliers will begin the 2012 season on March 13th with a visit from CSAC foe Notre Dame of MD.

The Falcons begin the 2012 season on Sunday, facing off against Randolph-Macon.

Centenary Cyclones (1-0)

Gwynedd-Mercy Griffins (0-0)

The Cyclones jumped out to a 1-0 start to the 2012 season by defeating the SUNY-Canton Roos 20-1 on Saturday. Alysia Pinkerton led the way for Centenary, scoring five goals and recording six groundballs and four caused turnovers. Freshman Rebecca Balfour had a stellar beginning to her college career by scoring three goals and scooping up seven groundballs in the win.

Immaculata Mighty Macs (0-1)

Immaculata women’s lacrosse opened the 2012 slate with an 8-7 loss to Albright. Kelly Kugler led the Mighty Macs with a hat trick while Emily Hallett and Danielle Lopez each scored twice. Alyssa Petito recorded one assist. Immaculata was able to knot the score at 6-all with 17:50 remaining in the contest as Lopez, Hallett and Kugler scored three goals all in a span of 1:23... Next up for Immaculata is a meeting with Rutgers-Camden, who the Mighty Macs defeated 13-8 last season

The Griffins begin the 2012 campaign on Tuesday, traveling to Sweet Briar College.

Marywood Pacers (1-0)

Opened the season with an 18-14 victory over Mount Saint Mary College behind seven points from Taylor McKeown (6 goals, 1 assist) and five from Sarah Caughy (2 goals, 3 assists). Diana D’Achille, Brooke Bondurant, and Kimberly Commisso also recorded hat-tricks in the win for the Pacers, who got five saves from winning goalie Leigha Dolcemascolo.


Neumann Knights (3-0)

Notre Dame of MD Gators (0-0)

Neumann is off to a strong 3-0 start this season. The Knights had a solid 15-11 win over Arcadia University to start the season. Erica Crabtree found the back of the net seven times... Neumann followed with a 16-7 win at Rutgers-Camden. Alexandra Bohen had six goals while Crabtree added four... The Knights wrapped up the week with an exciting 11-10 win over Wesley College. Neumann exploded for six goals in the second half, after being down 8-5 at the break. Crabtree tied the game at 10 with 3:44 left on the clock. Meghan Garsey then found the back of the net with 1:07 left in regulation to give the Knights the 11-10 lead and win... Neumann will travel to Scranton on Monday for its lone contest of the week.

The Gators saw their 2012 season-opener with Mount Saint Vincent canceled due to weather on Saturday... Notre Dame of MD will play a pair of non-conference games this week, traveling to Wesley on Wednesday before hosting Colby-Sawyer on Friday.
