Center for Disabilities Overcoming Communication and Language Barriers for Students with Disabilities Cost: FREE Communication barriers occur for everyone but can be especially problematic in the classroom. How can teachers identify and address communication and language barriers for students? What can teachers do to clarify language to increase student comprehension? The Center for Disabilities is offering a free, one-day training on communication types and variables, pitfalls for clear communication with students, and repair strategies and supports for getting everyone back on track. This training is open to special educators and related service providers. Remote and onsite technical assistance will also be provided for participants as needed for incorporating the skills and techniques within their classrooms and/or schools throughout the 2014-2015 school year.
