Center for Disabilities Teaching the Hard to Teach: Effective Methods for Successful Learning Intensive Training Series Have you ever heard the saying “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” Ignacio Estrada If you believe this to be true but continue to struggle with students who engage in challenging behaviors to avoid work or have difficulty getting your students excited about learning, join us for a three day intensive training course to reenergize yourself and your students and get that learning ball rolling again! The Center for Disabilities is offering a free, three day intensive training on effective methods to teach those who display challenging behaviors or have become stagnant in their learning process to special educators and related service providers. Ten educators in a public South Dakota school setting will get the opportunity to complete an intensive training sequence including three, one day small group trainings with hands on activities, take home resources, as well as remote and onsite technical assistance as needed for incorporating the skills and techniques within their classrooms and/or schools. All activities will take place during the 2014-2015 school year. Participants will have the opportunity to earn 1 Graduate Credit for completion of this course. Attendance for all three days is required.
