SessionFest 2017 A FOLK MUSIC EVENT Friday 9th - Monday 12th June No paid performers, no Festival fee!
Morisset Showground 40 Ourimbah St Morisset NSW Newcastle and Hunter Valley Folk Club’s Festival, SessionFest is now entering its 14th year! With easy access from the M1, the site is a huge area with flat sites for caravans, m/homes & tents. Plenty of powered sites; water; hot showers; large undercover area (for inclement weather); plenty of parking; camp kitchen; established central camp fires (BYO chair); and its kid & pet friendly. No festival fee, you only pay for your camping. Note- No Glass allowed on the showground. SessionFest is where you create you create the event, the atmosphere & the music. Come and sing, play, yarn, swap, learn, teach and encourage. However, we will have our usual Saturday night Themed Concert & Sunday night Gospel Concert; some Blackboard Concerts; Poetry and Yarns sessions. Anyone wanting to run a workshop please advise in advance. The rest of the time – session with old friends and/or make some new ones. Session Etiquette applies. On Sunday there’ll be a Special Blackboard Concert to celebrate 50 years of Folk Club activity in Newcastle, incorporating a Folk Club Reminiscence activity with a great prize to be won. Details available on-site. Bookings are not essential but prior advice would be appreciated. Please register of your intention to attend via sessionfest@gmail.com You must sign in and pay for your camping on arrival. See our SessionFest Official who will be located at the entrance to the ‘tunnel’, in the showground, prior to setting up. Day trippers welcome!
