WELCOME
The Schools and Events team at Central is dedicated to working in partnership with schools to help young people make informed decisions about their future. We offer a variety of activities, presentations and workshops, both at the College and in schools, to enable your students to learn more about the range of opportunities available to them. The Schools and Events team aims to raise aspirations and ensure students are aware of the opportunities available to them in Further and Higher Education, providing a comprehensive STONE SO U service to allow students to make a successful transition. TASTER SESSIONS
Estimated time: From 2 hours up to full day. Subject-specific taster sessions give your students the opportunity to get a taste of a subject they are interested in, and provide an exciting insight into College life and the facilities available to support their learning. We also offer bespoke group tasters for schools at any of our College sites offering a range of activities across various industry sectors.
COLLEGE VISITS Groups of students and staff are very welcome to come to the College to experience a guided tour of our centres; meet the staff and experience what it is like to be a college student. This is a great opportunity to view our facilities first hand; come and see our state-of-the-art hair and beauty salons, commercial automotive garage, industry standard photography studios, flight cabin or even have a go on our virtual welder!

INDUSTRY DAY School groups are invited along to participate in an industry style day where they can find out more about a particular industry sector, for example: Construction, Sport, Hair and Beauty or Creative Industries. Students participate in a variety of different workshops during the day, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to “Have a go� at various activities and find out all they need to know about a particular industry.
APPRENTICESHIP FAIR During Apprenticeship Week the College will deliver an Apprenticeship fair on Thursday 17th March 2016. Sector and industry specialists are available to help students understand the benefits of an Apprenticeship and the types of roles, careers and progression opportunities available. A number of activities will be taking place including an information area for employers and training providers, and interactive demonstrations.
