Join the Movement Dear Friends and Supporters of Join the Movement, The hardest part of a down economy is the double-edged sword we are forced to confront. Those who are fortunate enough to have a job, good health, friends and family are worried about what the future holds and often tighten their belts and give Mark Hubbard less. Those, like the thousands we serve in central Virginia Chairman, Board of Trustees with MS and their families, who are already struggling with an uphill battle often need more. Even an average guy like me understands you can't do more with less. Yet, I am astonished at the dedication, commitment, and sheer will of our staff, volunteers and partners to do just that - more with less. It is because they believe in the movement. It is because they are part of the movement. Yes, we have had a difficult year with our budget, but the lights are on, the phones are working and we have little outstanding debt. We have certainly held our own, if not fared a little better than many other worthwhile organizations facing the same challenges in the fundraising arena. We held a fantastic bike ride, and three terrific walks, along with our other signature annual events. We continued to provide scholarships to students of parents with MS, maintained a rigorous schedule of programs and services, and helped fund the critical research needed to find a cure for MS…some of it being done right here in Virginia at our leading medical institutions. All of this happened this year because nothing gets done while sitting on the sidelines. Each of you are part of that movement. MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society, and Central Virginia Chapter, exists to keep the movement going. And we won't stop until we fulfill our mission to create a world free of MS. Thanks for being part of the movement. Mark
