What are the eligibility criteria for PMI-ACP? ● 2,000 hours of general project experience working on teams. A current PMP® or PgMP® will satisfy this requirement but is not required to apply for the PMI-ACP. ● 1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies.

This requirement is in addition to the 2,000 hours of general project experience. ● 21 contact hours of training in agile practices.

What is the Audit process?

PMI tries to main the integrity of the certification by auditing a percentage of the application. PMI does not exactly define how much does it audit. If you have been selected for audit, you will be informed, and you will be able to download the audit package will contain instructions for providing verification items. PMI generally coins the audit duration as 5-7 days. Once the audit is over, you will receive an invitation to pay and schedule your examination.

What is the Examination process for PMI-ACP? Once you get the approval from PMI, you can schedule and take up the test.

Traditionally you will have to select an examination center and take up the examination. A complete list of all the centers is available on the PMI website.

PMI has also launched the option to take the PMI-ACP examination from your home via Proctored test. If you want to know more about PMI’s proctored test you can refer to the following articles: ● CAPM and PMI – ACP Online Proctored Examination ● PMI Switches to Pearson VUE and Online Proctored Testing The PMI-ACP examination consists of 120 questions that you will have to answer in 3 hours. You will be scored out of 100 questions while there are 20 pretest questions that are not considered for evaluation. These questions are randomly distributed and there is no way to find out which questions are pretest questions.

It is a common suggestion to be aware of the question breakdown as it helps you during the preparation of the examination.

So, what if I failed in the examination?

PMI-ACP is considered to be a difficult examination. The most important this is to not get discouraged if you have not been able to clear the examination in the first attempt. You get three attempts during the eligible period of one year to clear the examination. The fee to retake the test is $335 for PMI® members and $395 for non-members.
