ISABEL & FERNANDO ruled Spain in 1492. They helped Columbus in his trip to the Indies.

Columbus wanted to find a new sea route to reach the Indies But America was a continent that was in the middle of the route and they didn't know, so they thought they have reached the Indies. They called the inhabitants "Indians" El Tomillar, Attendis

CARLOS I

CARLOS I became king in 1516. His empire included the German territories (Germany, Austria, Italy and Netherlands). Also the Spanish colonies in America.

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

IMPORTANT FACTS - It began in Great Britain in the 19th C. with the invention of the STEAM ENGINE. - Great changes in agriculture, transport, manufacturing and technology. - Lots of population moved from villages to towns and cities to find a job in factories. - Manual work was replaced by machines. - Working conditions in factories were difficult and unhealthy.
