Let's Talk

I am amazed at how fast my first 90 days as President of The Community Foundation have flown by! It has been energizing... humbling...exciting... tiring...and so much more. My days have been spent full of listening, connecting, and taking action to strengthen partnerships and make progress towards goals in our innovative strategic plan.

When talking with donors, nonprofits, volunteers, staff, and community leaders during this time, my favorite question so far was, “Are you having fun?” It was easy to say yes. Our charge has always been to create lasting relationships to meet our mission to improve the quality of life for Muncie and Delaware County. In my transition to President after eight years in a different role, I have the wonderful benefit of relationships already built and the opportunity to build more. This will always be the most rewarding and fun part of our work.

My experience tells me things will slow down as we transition to our new office space later this year and our entire staff, many of whom are new to the Foundation, settle into their roles. As the pace slows, one thing will remain constant; The Community Foundation will continue to be a good partner to make a mark on Muncie and Delaware County today, tomorrow, and always.
