WHO IS SANTA CLAUS? Dr. Dennis Lindsay

Clement Clark Moore penned the popular Christmas poem A visit from Saint Nicolas in 1823. It was later entitled, Twas the Night Before Christmas. His inspiration for the character of Saint Nicholas was a local Dutch handyman and the historic Catholic saint. It featured the saint riding on a magical sleigh to deliver surprises on Christmas Eve to little children. Early, in the United States, the name Kris Krinkle was popular having derived from the German Christkind (Christchild) and pronounced Chriskindl, who is the gift giver at Christmas time. The Dutch name for Saint Nicholas is Sinterklaas, which the children in New York pronounced Santa Claus, and that name stuck in the United States. I have a different name for Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus or Kris Kringle. His name is Jehovah Sneaky, the Father of Christmas, Who surprises His children throughout the year.

THE VOICE OF HEALING & “If you can see the invisible, you can do the impossible!” - Oral Roberts CFNI was especially blessed to host a powerfully anointed group of healing and prophetic speakers at our annual, three-day Voice of Healing and Prophetic Conference this year. There was a continuous flow of the revelatory, spoken word and the prophetic word from the speakers, along with powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The balance between anointed worship, word and healings opened the heavens and created an atmosphere of expectation, which prepared each one to receive their miracle at the conference.

Dr. Edith Prakash, a CFNI alumna, Indian revivalist and healing evangelist, brought us to an understanding of how we can create an atmosphere for miracles. Her inspirational teaching, interwoven with deep spiritual truth and humor, instructed the audience on how to experience God’s manifested presence in a deeper way. She spoke about living a supernatural life by creating an open heaven through hosting the omnipotent, indwelling and manifested presence of God, Who makes the impossible possible. She said, “God has put a dream in everyone’s heart, and through the anointing you can do anything within God’s will.” Evangelist Sean Smith began by focusing on building expectant faith in the audience. We were so delighted to discover that he connected and related naturally to the young audience. God used him in the gift of the word of knowledge, calling out several people who received their healing. He encouraged each one to pray for those around them to receive healing. Sean also inspired us with his many poignant sayings, such as “Big miracles come from big risks!” “Your most defining moments will be your most frightening moments.” –Sean Smith

THE  VOICE WINTER 2021

Evangelist Steven Springer moved in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We saw healings and miracles take place through the compassion of Christ to each individual he ministered to. God also used him to give a prophetic word to CFNI as he presented a set of keys of the kingdom to President Dennis Lindsay and the family, representing the prophetic impact of CFNI around the world.

PROPHETIC CONFERENCE Dr. Paula Burt spoke of the need for receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in preparation for the manifestation of miracles in our lives. She then challenged the audience to receive the Holy Spirit baptism. Others, by word of knowledge, were prayed for by Dr. Paula and miracles happened as people received the healing they had come for. Pastor Rich Vera was used mightily the last evening and Saturday morning through the word of knowledge, with many manifestations of miracles as he prayed with all who were hungry for their healing. The atmosphere was charged for healing with worship music, faith building stories, and he prayed for everyone who needed miracles. All things are possible, only believe.

Christ For The Nations is known for training world changers. Our students come to CFNI to change their lives, but they leave with a desire to change the world. In retrospect, this was perhaps the greatest event ever conducted at Christ For The Nations because it reached a diverse group of worshippers, as hour after hour, people from around the world expressed their love and appreciation unto our Lord. By the end of Saturday evening, some 4,670 people had registered for the event, including over 1,000 alumni. From the moment we went live to the moment our final stream concluded, we had over 57,000 views on Facebook and over 33,700 Youtube views, which had been counted from 33 nations around the world, including Bolivia, India, Japan, and South Africa. The event generated a digital reach of 97,768 people. The vision for this event was clear from the very beginning, “IT’S NOT ABOUT WHO IS COMING TO LEAD US IN WORSHIP; IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM.” This prevailing attitude certainly led to the extraordinary gathering we experienced. God’s presence and anointing have forever marked our lives. A combined team of 30 worship leaders and about 70 band members led one to two-hour worship sets during the course of three days. Some of our alumni worship leaders such as Kari Jobe, Klaus Kuehn, Rick Pino, Shannon (Wexelberg) Adducci, Marco Barrientos, Bryan Peterson, Zach Neese, Brian and Kristen Ming, Thomas and Mary Beth Miller, Sandy Childress, Kevin Jonas, Jonathan Lewis, Marty Nystrom, Alan Asbury, Phil King, Laura Souguellis, as well as ministry partners such as Gateway Church, Hill City Church, Shoreline Church Worship, UPPERROOM Church and Life Fellowship, led us to the throne room! Our auditorium resounded in passionate praise as well as gentle, inspirational moments of reflection and quietness before the Lord. It was truly beautiful to experience these moments with our CFNI friends and family.

ALUMNI CONNECTION In addition to the 50 hours of worship, the Lindsay family hosted our alumni over several events and shared exciting plans for the future development of the CFNI campus. During The Gathering, we created a space for all of our alumni friends to reconnect with fellow alumni and faculty from when they all were here as students.

Alumna Kari Jobe

It was so good to see our alumni friends from different ethnicities, races and generations at the alumni reception and kickoff. There’s a genuine excitement for what God is doing in their lives.

The Gathering may have concluded, but the renewal of passion, purpose and vision will remain with us for years to come. This time spent in God’s presence marked us, we will never forget the way we encountered the Lord when we gathered together as family. The move that the Lord began here is only just beginning. “There aren’t any other places where you can stand over an open well and under an open heaven at the same time!” – Gabe Allred Gabriel Allred

THE  VOICE WINTER 2021

H ave a Mer ry Ch ristm as!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I like the cold weather, seeing the snow falling and all the colorful Christmas lights throughout the city. This season is a time for families to come together and enjoy our loved ones. As I grow older and hopefully wiser, the Lord is giving me a better perspective on life and the importance of family. I am blessed to have a new understanding and greater relationship with my family. We went through a difficult season with COVID and organizational changes, but it was a true blessing in disguise. He has brought greater unity among us. CFNI is still God’ s place as the name is CHRIST For The Nations, not the Lindsays’ministry. The Lord has laid out a master plan of unity and love that He is orchestrating internally here, and we are preparing a master plan externally to rebuild the campus with excellence.

We recently celebrated 50 years of ministry with 50 hours of worship with over 3,000 attendees. It was exceptional! The Lord showed up and we were blessed. Now, the Lord has us preparing for the next 50 years of training world changers for His glory. I believe He is about to lead us into deeper worship and greater growth. He is preparing us to lead the next generations in transforming their lives, so they can transform their communities and their nations. We are ready for this new season that God has for us. We give all praise to Him! Thank you for walking alongside of us this past year.

Golan Lindsay—COO/VP and Krissia Lindsay—Alumni Director

Thank you for supporting CFNI with your prayers and finances. Thank you for loving this place and supporting what the Lord is doing here. Thousands of students are coming to meet with Jesus and be transformed into His image to be salt and light in their generation. We are fulfilling Jesus’last command to go and make disciples of all nations. Have a Merry Christmas! We love you all very much.

2021 WORLD RELIEF / ORPHANAGES / OUTREACHES Randy Delp

WILL YOU HELP US? Emails from ministries around the world, mostly from underdeveloped countries, are filling my inbox with desperate requests seeking food and medical supplies. These people were once starving to death, but they have learned about charitable ministries like Christ For the Nations, that will hear their cries and respond. But what do you do when you hear their urgent appeal, “Will you help us?” and you have little world relief funds to send? We appeal to you and ask, “Will you help us, help them?” Although the primary mission of Christ For the Nations Institute since 1970 has been to train world changers, we have never abandoned our original purpose as a charitable missions organization to help ministries around the world. We raise funds for overseas pastors, churches, missionaries, orphanages, Bible schools and of course the ministries in Israel. People donate money to us because they know the integrity of the Lindsay legacy and that the money will go to whom it was intended. World relief has also been a vital concern for Christ For the Nations. Through our world relief funds we have been able to help international, rural communities that have suffered famine, earthquakes, and violent weather related events that destroy homes and people. Early last year we began receiving a large number of requests to help coronavirus victims. When COVID19 became an international pandemic, we sent money to Albania, Botswana, Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Kenya, Mexico, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Zambia to purchase food and medical supplies for pastors, Bible school directors, orphanages, and people crying out for help. Since March 2020, the American discussion has been about the origins of coronavirus. Unfortunately, the debate has superseded the fact that so many people are dying and mostly in countries where there is little outside help.

14

THE  VOICE WINTER 2021

Last year, two directors in the Christ For the Nations Association of Bible Schools were taken prematurely by COVID19; relatives of orphanages that we support were infected and some died; pastors of churches throughout the world seek to help their parishioners but find themselves in hospitals with no one to help them. belongs to God. It has the name and heart of Jesus. His title is Christ, and His heart which it was given. We are asking you for help in our world relief efforts because so many people around the world need it. I keep thinking about their question,

TRIBUTE TO

ROBERT “BOB” MASON “See you in Heaven!”

W

hen Dr. Robert (Bob) Mason joined the faculty and staff, Christ For The Nations became a better place. His loving spirit and cordial friendliness sparked life to all who knew him. He was known for telling the many remarkable stories he had experienced of God’s power while traveling to over 70 countries. Bob and his wife, Debbie, served as Chairman of the Music Department and Directors of Living Praise from 1978 to 1985. This traveling music group focused on praise and worship, included special music, personal testimonies, and training for hands-on altar ministry. Bob also led the Sanctuary Choir.Their love for the students is still acclaimed by those they taught. After leaving CFNI, Bob served for eleven years at two Metroplex churches, overseeing the Music and Arts Ministries and was the Academic Dean of North Dallas Seminary. Dr. Bob Mason graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. He also received a Masters of Art in Practical Theology with honors in 2004 from ORU in Tulsa, OK. Bob has had over 40 years of combined ministry experience in worship leading, pastoring, and missions. His love for missions led him to establish Missions International-World Expeditions where he introduced people from local churches to experience the mission field and to help build church facilities in developing countries. His short-term mission’s approach has been an incentive for others to become full-time missionaries. Bob and I, along with our wives, were longtime friends and prayer partners. We lived side by side in CFN’s campus apartments. The last text I received from Bob was on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He wrote, “Hey, Dennis and Ginger, I’m so sorry I have to miss the 50/50 conference. I tested positive for the fear virus today. Tell Kevin Jonas ‘hello.’ I love you guys.” Two weeks later Bob joined Debbie in heaven. Together they live and sing with the angels in the eternal presence of Jesus, Whom they sang about in this world. Our hearts go out to Daniella and Christian and their family. Our close friends will long be remembered for their encouragement and the joy they brought to our lives. Dennis and Ginger Lindsay Bob Mason was a loyal man, not only committed to his wife and children but to the ministry and all he worked with. His passion for people led him to be a great encourager. He was a great musician and singer. However, what I remember most about him is his genuine faith in God—it knew no bounds. His work in the Amazon is worthy of a chapter in church history—not only the miracles that happened there, God sparing his life, people raised from the dead, but even entire tribes coming to Jesus. Bob loved my sister deeply and could not bring himself to remarry. He would always say, “He couldn’t find anyone like Debbie.” Dr. James Marocco CFNTheVoice.com 15

OLD SEEDS PRODUCE NEW CROPS

Cheryl Ricker, 1994 CFNI Grad

When a lady on York University’s campus approached

me, she had no idea how I’d prayed that morning: “Lord, I’ve narrowed it down to five Bible colleges, but I’m stuck. Please send someone my way who will tell me the name of the school where I’m supposed to go!” Since my parents don’t believe God still speaks to us, my decision didn’t exactly provoke the hallelujah chorus. But after they saw how much I grew that 1993-94 school year, they couldn’t help but change their tune. Besides, it gave them the most incredible son-in-law! Dwight and I met over a school advertised production of The Passion Play. We then took our passion to the Institute Building where we worshipped with Kevin Jonas. Next, we conveniently signed up for CFNI’s “Marriage and Family” class. I used to walk around the track with Mom Lindsay, but Dwight became my new walking partner—and he was easier to keep up with! We enjoyed witnessing together on the evangelism team on Fridays and attending a Messianic congregation on Saturdays. Naturally, we chose Israel for our mission’s trip. God clearly used CFNI in our marriage to teach us how to make Him our shelter. This proved vital when I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia, a neurological condition that’s like Parkinson’s disease. Involuntary movements made it difficult to stand, sit, and eat. Spasms from overfiring cranial nerves made muscles on one side of my neck become contracted with spasms, constantly forcing my head to the far left. This began our six-year journey of pressing into God for healing and recovery. I’ve learned to praise Him like my sanity depended on it.

Regardless of everything the enemy stole, I discovered that when everything’s stripped away, God is still more than enough! Against the doctor’s predictions, my health began to ever-so-slowly improve. Friends tried to comfort me, “You’ll someday write your own story.” It’s hard to imagine reliving the nightmarish details, but I trust Him. And in the midst of my ongoing healing journey, writers began reaching out to me for help with their publishing dreams. I never planned it, but the next thing I knew, I found myself in the role of a literary agent. From there, I became a screenwriter manager, dreaming bigger and bigger with God, all the while still suffering—and abiding. Then God connected me with worldfamous artist, Ron DiCianni, who nurtured a lifelong dream to see his art in the Bible. As only God can do, he joined the pieces of our God-sized dreams together. The Masterpiece Edition of The Passion Translation is now available on Amazon for preorder. The message is as simple as personal: God’s love and power in us through Jesus is limitless. My personal miracles came differently than expected. They popped in like joy bombs brightening my days. Dwight and I have two wonderful sons—one graduated from the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry and the other from CFNI. What a joy it was to visualize the same place from where Dwight and I first held hands decades before, watching our son receive his diploma. Old seeds can produce new crops. Cheryl Ricker has written several books, including A Friend in the Storm, Rush of Heaven: One Woman’s Miraculous Healing Encounter with Jesus, Josiah’s Fire: Autism Stole his Words, God gave him a Voice, The Good Gift Giver: 31 Days of Unexpected Blessings, and The Masterpiece Edition of the Passion Translation.

OUR MIRACLE WORKING GOD The healing process continued as God led my wife and I to adopt a child that needed a home. There the Lord began to find a landing place for the fatherly emotions that were birthed when I learned that I was to become a father. These were emotions that remained unconnected until the Lord brought healing into my life, where I was able to walk out the calling of fatherhood.

Scott Miller CFNI Grad 1983-1985

I was a Christ For the Nations’ student back in

the early 80s. At that time, I was suffering from the reality that my child’s life had been taken in an abortion about five years previously. At an eleven o’clock morning chapel one day, the guest speaker asked for anyone who had been involved in an abortion to come down to the altar. At first, I couldn’t even lift my head. I was so full of shame and guilt. However, I became curious as to whether anyone else would respond to the altar call. To my surprise, the altar was packed—200 to 300 students of the 1,000 student body had responded to the altar call. I responded then as well, and was ministered to by one of the staff who prayed for me. You see, I was suffering from the loss of a child to abortion, and while I knew God had forgiven me, I did not know how to walk in the restoration that He had for me. Since leaving Christ For the Nations, with the spiritual strengthening I received through that experience, God has walked me through an even deeper sense of restoration. From being barely able to get myself to the altar during chapel, God, through a process of healing and transformation, has allowed me to speak in America on the subject of healing for fathers of aborted children. The process of restoration has included walking cooperatively with post abortion healing ministries and being involved in establishing one in my home town. This venture has resulted in allowing post abortive people in my community to access God’s healing grace through a weekend of restoration.

Mellinda, Scott’s adopted daughter

God furthered the healing process by allowing me to become a part of a board that started a new maternity home for pregnant women. Through God’s grace we have been able to help save the lives of at least seven babies. At a gospel revival meeting, I will be introducing one of the babies who was saved. This little girl’s mom chose the maternity home over an abortion clinic—she is four years old now and just a bundle of energy. To be a part of experiencing the fruit of this kind of ministry brings a healing that only the Lord could orchestrate. Today, I am a chaplain in a federal penitentiary, and I share with the fellows from personal experience that the Lord can make the crooked paths straight, and He can bring light into whatever darkness they are currently going through. I thank God for His goodness in sending me to Christ For the Nations, where I learned that God is a miracle working God and that His power to save is still available to all.

YEAR OF JUBILEE

Christ For the Nations was established in 1970; the year 2020 became our year of Jubilee. Covid 19 tried to stop CFNI’s celebratory year by quarantining the world. But we would not be denied. We adjusted to the circumstances, came out of quarantine, took off our masks and declared 2021 to be our Jubilee year.

According to Leviticus 25:8-55, Moses instructed the Israelites to celebrate the Jubilee year as a holy Sabbath. Jews who were scattered to other lands were to return to the land of promise and join the celebration. During this sacred year, people ceased from their labors of planting and reaping; instead, they ate from what the land produced. In the year of Jubilee, the land was given back to the original owner, and everyone was released from their debts. It was a year of freedom where slaves were released, and everyone came together to celebrate.

Alumni from around the world came to celebrate 50/50 and worshipped the Lord for 50 straight hours to recognize 50 years of existence. It was actually a prophetic declaration because we did it at the beginning of the first year of the second jubilee. We were announcing, “For the next fifty years, Christ For the Nations will worship the Lord.” As a testimony of God’s faithfulness to CFNI and in honor of our Year of Jubilee, the Board of Directors approved a resolution to cancel over one million dollars of student debt that had been previously owed to CFNI from the fall of 1970 to the summer of 2020.

ADDRESS SERVICE REQUESTED

YEAR OF JUBILEE

By Dr. Dennis Lindsay, Golan Lindsay and the Board of Directors

As a testimony of God’s faithfulness to CFNI, the Board of Directors canceled over one million dollars of CFNI student debt that was owed to the ministry, and adopted the following: INASMUCH AS, Christ For The Nations’ stakeholders have been praying for a financial turnaround, and INASMUCH AS, Christ For The Nations Institute is in our year of Jubilee when slaves are to be released, property restored and debts forgiven (Leviticus 25:1-29), and Jesus taught us (Matthew 6:12; Luke 11:4) to forgive others their debts as God forgives us, and Christ For The Nations believes debt is a spiritual matter whereas the borrower intuitively feels a bondage to the lender, and BE IT RESOLVED that Christ For The Nations declared August 2020 through July 2021, as a
