Hello from the Director I am thrilled to be a part of the WSSU family as the Director of Library Services in C.G. O’Kelly Library. It is with great pleasure that I greet you on behalf of the O’Kelly Library staff. During this time of rapid change within libraries and on our campuses, it is of vital importance that we remain relevant and at the heart of the academic mission of the university. Since joining the O’Kelly team, we have begun to look deeper into how we might improve upon the services we render in support of the academic excellence and success of our students, our faculty and our staff. We are revisiting our practices and policies in an effort to ensure openness, consistency and above all a commitment to the stewardship of the resources allotted to us. We look forward to hearing from you and assisting you throughout the academic year. Currently, plans are underway to convene campus focus group sessions. Look for dates and times to be announced soon. We would love to see you at one of the sessions. After hearing from students concerning the possibility of extended library study hours, we are pleased to announce that beginning at noon on Sunday, April 24thwe will remain open around the clock during exams until Thursday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m. We recognize that exams can be both frustrating and stressful for our students. To that end, we want to show you how much we care by providing coffee, a light snack and a few other destressing activities. As we continue to evolve and grow our offerings, we remain excited about the opportunity to serve our faculty, students and staff. We are actively seeking campus partners willing to work with us in identifying strategies and designing programs that will impact and support the total learning experience for our students.
