INTRODUCING

COMEDY MAGICIAN

NATHAN COE MARSH Nathan will fill the room with laughter and astonishment. Be prepared for the most fun you’ve had with duct tape, eggs, a samurai sword, a blow-torch, and an iPad. Nathan Coe Marsh’s blend of genuine warmth, wry humor, and stunning impossibility has been seen off-Broadway in New York City, on Women’s Entertainment Television, at private events at the Straz Center for Performing Arts, Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, Hard Rock Casino, Millennium Hotel, the Gaylord Palms, and at finer hotels, convention centers, theaters and resorts throughout the United States. Your finger rings become linked together, water floats in mid-air, a steel bird cage vanishes right in front of you, an egg obeys your voice, and much more.

Our Honorees

Leadership Award Congressman Ron DeSantis Congressman Ron DeSantis will be receiving the Leadership Award for his incredible support of Israel and his devotion to his constituents. Congressman DeSantis has been a strong advocate for Israel and Jewish causes. Mr. DeSantis has shown time and again that his love and support of Israel is beyond partisan politics. It is simply the right thing to do. Mr. DeSantis is very vocal in his support of Israel as America’s foremost ally in the Middle East. On a local level, Mr. DeSantis and his office staff have been very helpful when constituents needed his assistance.

Pillar of the Community Award Mr. Jeff Meyers It is with great pride that we will present Mr. Jeff Meyers with the Pillar of the Community Award. Jeff, our Dinner Chairman, has made his impact on numerous people’s lives with his dedication to Chabad, his love of Hashem and his personal financial support of Chabad at the Beaches. Jeff Meyers and wife Karlie believe that supporting Chabad is not enough; they encourage others to give as well. Jeff has chaired our fundraising dinner for four years now and has overseen its exponential growth every single year. As a natural leader, Jeff is very vocal about his support and love of G-d and is someone who truly inspires others by example.

Community Service Award Jerri Schwartz-Reich Jerri Schwartz-Reich will receive the Community Service Award for her outstanding dedication to Chabad. Jerri’s positivity and willingness to help others is infectious. She came to Chabad nearly every week for many months just to help cook for Shabbat meals and volunteer in any capacity that was needed. Jerri demonstrates selflessness and concern for others on a regular basis. We are proud to call her a friend, honor her and recognize her efforts.

Letter f rom the Rabbi Dear Friends and Extended Chabad Family, Just five days ago we celebrated the holiday of Shavuot. As I write this letter, I remember it was just twelve years ago that we borrowed our first Torah scroll. Shavuot was only the second time that we read the Torah here at Chabad. Twelve years have flown by. So much has happened in such a short period of time. Since then we’ve grown both spiritually and in number. With the guidance and teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, together we have accomplished many things at our home at the Beach. We’ve held numerous programs, JLI series, educational lectures, classes, and events for men, women and people of all ages. We’ve participated in each other’s simchas and life cycle events. My heartfelt appreciation to all those who have made all of this possible. Well done. You are the future of our Chabad community. This past year has been exciting and meaningful. Thank you Mr. Jeff Meyers, Jerri Reich and Congressman Ron DeSantis for agreeing to be honored. Thank you to our donors who ensure the financial future of Chabad at the Beaches. Thank you to those who contribute with their most precious commodity… time; without you none of this would be possible. You help ensure that your children, grandchildren and generations to come will experience the rich Jewish heritage and traditions that are so much a part of our Chabad family life. Shavuot is the holiday which celebrates the receiving of the Torah. Our sages tell us that when G-d spoke the Ten Commandments at Sinai, His voice had no echo. An echo occurs when sound meets with a substance that resists it. The Torah has no echo. Every object in the universe is saturated by its message. There is nothing off which it could ricochet. For the Torah is not an imposed reality, but the very DNA of the world. The Torah does not introduce a new reality, but rather sheds light, purpose and sanctity into everything that is already here now. May we merit the redemption of Moshiach speedily in our days! Leah, Avi, Dovi, Etta, Rivka, Mottel & Necha join me in wishing you a wonderful summer.

Most sincerely, Rabbi Nochum Kurinsky

Letter f rom the P rog ram Director Dear Friends, We celebrate our annual gala dinner having just observed the festival of Shavuot, when we commemorate Hashem’s giving of the Torah to the Jewish people. After receiving the Torah the Jews wandered in the desert for 40 years. Whenever the Jews encamped they erected the Mishkan (Tabernacle) where they prayed and brought the daily offerings to Hashem. The Torah says “from 25 years old and upwards the Levites must enter service.” The Levites were given the responsibility of carrying the Mishkan and its vessels through the desert. G-d led the Jews through the desert with the Mishkan – in which his presence was openly manifested – in order to subdue the forces of evil which the uninhabited, uncultivated, desolate, and dangerous desert embodied. Similarly, our own environment can sometimes seem like a spiritual “desert”, devoid of G-dliness. In fact, it may sometimes seem to us that we ourselves have become a “desert” – i.e., that we have developed habits that are contrary to our task of spreading divine consciousness. How can we possibly hope to change ourselves (let alone the world around us) when these habits and modes of behavior have already become ingrained within us? Here we can learn from the Levites. They did not even begin training for their occupation until they were 25 years old; yet they were nevertheless empowered to begin their holy service at this age. G-d gives us, too, the ability to remake ourselves and begin new directions in life, even though we may feel unqualified, unprepared, or unworthy to carry them out. All we have to do is make use of His assistance. My wife Esther and my Children, Shmulik and Nechama join me in wishing heartfelt congratulations to Congressman Ron DeSantis, Mr. Jeff Meyers and Mrs. Jerri Schwartz-Reich on their well deserved awards. May you continue to inspire us with your acts of kindness and good deeds as the Levites did in ancient times!

B’Shalom, Rabbi Eli Wilansky

Letter f rom the Dinner Chair Dear Friends, Chabad is the most dynamic force in Judaism today and it is an honor to be the fundraising chairman for its Ponte Vedra Beach Emissaries. As the fundraising chairman for Chabad at the Beaches, it is my responsibility to inspire the local Jewish community to support OUR Chabad house. In my four years in this role I’ve learned that I can’t truly motivate another individual. Motivation by definition means to move forward to satisfy a need. Everybody’s “need” is different and therefore what motivates me might not motivate you. However, I know that everyone’s needs and motivations stem from within to create a harmonious internal energy flow. In other words, everyone wants to satisfy his or her soul. So while I can’t motivate an individual, I can motivate the collective soul that we all share, the Jewish Soul that connects us all. What is it that all Jews want? To what is our inner most desires directed towards? We all feel a need to reach something, but that inner voice that’s always dissatisfied is searching for something else. It’s searching for a connection to its Source. The Source that our soul is searching for is Hashem. The directions to the Source, and the path to internal harmony is the Torah. Specifically, Wisdom, Comprehension, and Knowledge of the Torah. And it’s no coincidence that “The word “Chabad” is a Hebrew acronym for the three intellectual faculties of: chachmah-wisdom, binah-comprehension and da’at-knowledge”. Chabad at the Beaches provides an environment where everyone is welcome to come and nourish their soul through wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of the Torah. Rabbi and Rebbetzin Kurinsky, Chabad’s Ponte Vedra Beach emissaries, have dedicated their lives to helping every Jew quench their inner thirst for a connection to Hashem. They are the hardest working people you will ever meet and their job is entirely selfless. Legend has it that the Menorah in the First Temple used to light every home in Jerusalem at night. The light provided comfort and strengthened the unity of the Jewish people. Chabad at the Beaches is our symbolic Menorah. It provides a beacon of light to our community and we can count on Rabbi and Rebbetzin Kurinsky to keep the flame burning. They inspire all of us to carry that flame out into the world and use it to be lamplighters to our fellow Jew’s soul. It’s through your generosity that Chabad at the Beaches continues to have the fuel to light our community. Thank you for coming tonight and joining me in support of Rabbi & Rebbetzin Kurinsky! Respectfully,

Jeff Meyers

Grace After Meals A Song of Ascents. When G-d will return the exiles of Zion, we will have been like

dreamers. Then our mouth will be filled with laughter, and our tongue with songs of joy; then will say among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for these.” The Lord has done great things for us; we were joyful. Lord, return our exiles as streams to arid soil. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed; he will surely return with songs of joy, carrying his sheaves.

By the sons of Korach, a Psalm, a Song whose basic theme is the holy mountains [of Zion and Jerusalem]. The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of you, eternal city of God. I will remind Rahav and Babylon concerning My beloved; Philistia and Tyre as well as Ethiopia. “This one was born there.” And to Zion will be said, “This person and that was born there;” and He, the Most High, will establish it. The Lord will count in the register of people, “This one was born there.” Selah. Singers as well as dancers [will sing your praise and say], “all my inner thoughts are of you.”

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise is always in my mouth. Ultimately, all is known; fear G-d, and observe His commandments; for this is the whole purpose of man. My mouth will utter the praise of the Lord; let all flesh bless His holy Name forever. And we will bless the Lord from now to eternity. Praise the Lord! This is the portion of the evil man from G-d and the inheritance of his words from G-d. And he said to me, "this is the table which is before G-d." When blessing with a quorum of three or more, the Leader begins:

Gentlemen, let us say the Blessings.

The others respond: May the Name of the Lord be blessed from now and forever! The leader repeats the preceding response and continues:

With your permission, esteemed gentlemen, let us bless Him (if the quorum of ten is present, add: our God) of whose bounty we have eaten. The others respond: Blessed be He (if the quorum of ten is present, add: our God)

of whose bounty we have eaten and by whose goodness we live.

Blessed are you, Lord Our God, King of the universe, who in His goodness pro-

vides sustenance for the entire world with grace, with kindness, and with mercy. He gives food to all flesh, for His kindness is everlasting. Through His great goodness to us continuously we do not lack [food], and may we never lack food, for the sake of His great Name. For He, benevolent God, provides nourishment and sustenance for all, does good to all, and prepares food for all His creatures whom He has created, as it is said: You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. Blessed are You Lord, who provides food for all.

We offer thanks to You, Lord our God, for having given as a heritage

to our ancestors a precious, good and spacious land; for having brought us out, Lord our God, from the land of Egypt and redeemed us from the house of bondage; for Your covenant which You sealed in our flesh; for Your Torah which You taught us; for Your statutes which You have made known to us; for the life, favor, and kindness which You have graciously bestowed on us; and for the food we eat with which You constantly nourish and sustain us every day, at all times, and at every hour.

For all this, Lord our God, we give thanks to You and bless You. May Your Name

be blessed by the mouth of every living being, constantly and forever. As it is written: When you have eaten and are satiated, you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. Blessed are You Lord, for the land and for the sustenance.

Have mercy, Lord our God, upon Israel Your people, upon Jerusalem Your

city, upon Zion the abode of Your glory, upon the kingship of the house of David Your anointed, and upon the great and holy House over which Your Name was proclaimed. Our God, our Father, tend us, nourish us, sustain us, feed us and provide us with plenty, and speedily, Lord our God, grant us relief from all afflictions. Lord our God, please don’t make us dependent on the gifts of mortal men nor on their loans, but only on Your full, open, holy and generous hand, that we may never be shamed or disgraced. On Shabbos add: May it please You, Lord our God, to strengthen us through

Your mitzvos, and through the mitzvah of the Seventh Day, this great and holy Shabbos. For this day is great and holy before You, to refrain from work and to rest on it with love, in accordance with the commandment of Your will. In Your good will, Lord our God, bestow upon us tranquility, that there shall be no distress, sadness, or sorrow on the day of our rest. Lord our God, let us see the consolation of Zion Your city, and the rebuilding of Jerusalem Your holy city, for You are the Master of deliverance and the Master of consolation.

And rebuild Jerusalem the holy city speedily in our days. Blessed are You

Lord, who in His mercy rebuilds Jerusalem. Amen.

Blessed are you, Lord Our God, King of the universe, God, our Father, our King,

our Strength, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Maker, our Holy One, the Holy One of Jacob, our Shepherd, the Shepherd of Israel, the King who is good and does good to all,

each and every day. He has done good for us, He does good for us, and He will do good for us; He has bestowed, He bestows, and He will forever bestow upon us grace, kindness and mercy, relief, salvation and success, blessing and deliverance, consolation, livelihood and sustenance, compassion, life, peace and all goodness; and may He never cause us to lack any good. May the Merciful One reign over us forever and ever. May the Merciful One be blessed in heaven and on earth. May the Merciful One be praised for all generations, and pride Himself in us forever and all eternity, and glorify Himself in us forever and ever. May the Merciful One provide our livelihood with honor. May the Merciful One break the yoke of exile from our neck and may He lead us upright to our land. May the Merciful One send abundant blessing into this house and upon this table at which we have eaten. May the Merciful One send us Elijah the prophet – may he be remembered for good – and let him bring us good tidings, deliverance and consolation. May the Merciful One bless my father, my teacher, the master of this house and my mother, my teacher, the mistress of this house; them, their household, their children, and all that is theirs; us and all that is ours. Just as He blessed our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, “in all things,” “by all things,” with “all things,” so may He bless all of us together (the children of the Covenant) with a perfect blessing, and let us say Amen.

From heaven, may there be invoked upon him and upon us such merit which

will bring enduring peace. May we receive blessing from the Lord and kindness from God our deliverer, and may we find grace and good understanding in the eyes of God and man. Shabbos: May the Merciful One let us inherit that day which will be all Shabbos and rest for life everlasting.

May the Merciful One grant us the privilege of reaching the days of

the Moshiach and the life of the World to Come. He gives great deliverance (On Shabbos, Festivals, Rosh Chodesh, and Chol HaMoed substitute: He is a tower of deliverance) to His king,

and bestows kindness upon His anointed, to David and his descendants forever. He who makes peace in His heavens, may He make peace for us and for all Israel; and say Amen.

Fear the Lord, you His holy ones, for those who fear Him lack nothing. Young lions are in need and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good. Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His kindness is everlasting. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living being. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and the Lord will be his security.
