SITE ANALYSIS

JOULE HOUSE INTERIM PORTFOLIO

SITE FINDINGS Site is acessible via footpath adjacent to A6 and Acton square, a public space. Vechile access is limited, access point via south acton square entrance. Solar gain is obstructed by surrounding residential and commercialy occupied buildings. Thus orientation of site towards solar path is not a high priority. Green space access and views should be prioritised. Section of Greater Manchester Map

Floorplan reflects the building consisting of two disconnected terraced properties. Internal renovations, assumed during 2000s, have removed a section of wall to connect the two properties. Section located infront of existing staircases. Site visit confirms dual staircases are innecessary to circulation of site. Building appraisal can assume limited structural damage to existing. Assumed repairs required to existing roof. As water damage is present internally. Existing timber frame window and doors should be repaired where necessary. Signs of rot were present under inspection. Existing utilities include; private IT network, Gas heating, smart metres and manual ventilation.
