Design Description
Adaptive reuse of existing Grade II listed North and West facade Georgian proportioned structure. Project brief outlines use by an activist group. Sustainability, a branch of environmental activism has been chosen.
Central atrium follows the irregular axes of the existing structure. This intrusive 'Growing area' provides a focal point to the interior. Reflection and discussion areas wrap this space. Metaphorical meanings are intertwined with the rising of each floor. From the educational spaces within the basement to protestant activism spaces of the first floor.

Model
Structural model illustrates the designs CLT frame., with concrete walls surrounding the south east fire safety stairwell.
Material sample board and wall section have been produced to demonstarte the key materials. The material sample board focuses on the external finishes; red brick envelopes the facade producing a finish incorpriated with its surroudnings.Window frame is chosen for u-value. Wool insulation and CLT are essential materials in the walls high u-value achievements. The structural wall section, shwocases the materials relevnace within the structures.

Restoration design proposal, of Grade II listed curtilage. Previously used as farm cold storage, with a traditional hay store at first floor. Design proposes preservation of existing masonry and stone structure. Proposed use for residential accommodation. Tiered floor levels are used to create differentiation to spaces. Enabling privacy to bedrooms. Stepped seating of living area allows versatile use as suited to clients lifestyle. Design observes site constraints of limited space and Grade II listing. Focus is demonstrated towards compact design. Utilising available space to optimise use.
