he Britt family of Buffalo, N.Y. is fighting to testify to what they say were atrocities perpetrated against their elderly aunt, Lula Baity Here is her shocking story. Eighty-six year old Ms. Baity, a then resident of the Buffalo Municipal Housing Complex, went to the rental office on September 30, 2003 to inquire about her current month’s rent payment. The money order had been returned to Ms. Baity, because the amount was incorrect - $100.88, as opposed to the $188.00 , that would have served as the rental fee due for the month of September. Ms. Baity explained to the property manager that apparently, the corner store had made an error while issuing the money order. To assist Ms. Baity in resolving the issue, the property manager directed her subordinate, a Housing Authority case management worker, to contact Ms. Baity’s family and Family Services (a non-official agency, community based center, located within the housing complex). The Housing Authority’s case management worker did not assist Ms. Baity as instructed. Instead, she contacted Erie County Crisis Services, a community mental health outreach agency, with allegations that Lula Batty was not paying rent, was increasingly confused and disoriented, was unable to care for herself and other false claims. The BMHA rental office was not an authorized reporting agency, approved by the Office of Mental Health. As the Housing Authority’s case management worker, this employee’s responsibilities usually involved inspections and maintenance issues. It was not within her jurisdiction to request a mental, evaluation of Ms. Baity. It has been confirmed however, that she identified herself, not as the Housing Authority’s case management worker, but as Ms. Baity’s “social worker.” After her call and without verification of her credentials, actions were taken resulting in the involuntary removal of Ms. Baity from the home she’d lived in for over forty years. On October 1, 2003, the same Housing Authority case worker, accompanied by two Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority police officers, a Crisis
Services worker, and an ambulance, went to Ms. Baity’s apartment. Upon gaining entry, the Housing Authority worker proceeded to seize Ms. Baity, grabbing her by the arm. “As my elderly aunt tried to pull away, this woman threatened her,” says Lula Baity’s niece, Carmen Britt based on information provided by her aunt. “She told my aunt that if she continued to resist and did not leave, the housing authority police would use force to remove her.” Against her will, she was strapped to a gurney and transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center. After being shaken up by the incident, she arrived at the emergency room with symptoms of increased blood pressure and a rapid heartbeat Ms. Baity was admitted with a purported diagnosis of “unable to care for herself.” Her family was never contacted by representatives of the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority or hospital staff an anonymous caller alerted her family.
Admitted for an emergency mental evaluation, Ms. Baity was subjected to a battery of medical tests, none of which were mental health screenings. Ms. Baity’s given diagnosis Lula Baity of “inability to care for herself’ was never confirmed by a psychiatrist. After ten days of involuntary confinement, Dr. Phillip Rados, the attending physician, making an assumptive diagnosis of “advanced dementia” ordered Ms. Baity’s transfer to Grace Manor Nursing Home. Without court approval, 86 year old Lula Baity was transferred to Grace Continued Page 12

Phony CIA vaccination program sparks fear in Pakistan ISLAMABAD— Pakistani officials and international health organizations expressed concern recently that a phony CIA vaccination program meant to obtain DNA evidence in the hunt for Osama bin Laden could harm legitimate immunization programs in the country. This fear is especially pronounced because of the rising problem of polio. Pakistan was the only country to record an increase in cases of the crippling disease last year and now has the highest incidence of polio in the worldVaccination programs to combat polio and other diseases in Pakistan were already hampered by fighting that blocked access by health workers to certain areas, especially in the northwest. Some Taliban commanders have also declared vaccines as against Islam.

epublican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Sunday that communities have a right to ban Islamic mosques. Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO said protests and legal challenges to a planned mosque in Tennessee city are an example of local residents pushing back. Cain said his view doesn’t amount to religious discrimination because he says Muslims are trying to inject Shariah law into the U.S. Shariah is a set of core principles that most Muslims recognize and a series of rulings from religious scholars. It covers many areas of life and different sects have different versions and interpretations of the code. Asked if his view could lead any community to stand up in opposition to a proposed mosque, Cain replied, “They could say that.” He pointed to opposition to the planned mosque in Murfreesboro, Tenn., as an example. “Let’s go back to the fundamental issue that the people are basically saying that they are objecting to,” Cain said. “They are objecting to the fact that Islam is both religion and (a) set of laws, Shariah law. That’s the difference between any one of our other traditional religions where it’s just about religious purposes.
ATTENTION FORMER COKE OVEN EMPLOYEES
Coke oven emissions from Bethlehem Steel, Donner Hanna and other Western New York coke oven facilities are a potent cause of lung cancer and other cancers. If you or a family member is suffering from or died as a result of a cancer from work on coke oven batteries, you may be able to file a legal claim against the manufacturers of coke ovens and collect significant financial compensation.

“The people in the community know best. And I happen to side with the people in the community.” Cain’s comments were denounced as “unconstitutional and un-American” by a spokesman for the Washingtonbased Council on American-Islamic Relations. “It’s clear that Herman Cain has decided that he will score political points every time he bashes the Muslim community or its constitutional rights,” council spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said in a phone interview. Cain previously stirred controversy by saying that he would not want a Muslim bent on killing Americans in his administration. Campaigning in Murfreesboro last week, Cain sided with mosque opponents. “I happen to also know that it’s not just about a religious mosque,” he said Sunday. “There are other things going on based upon talking to the people closest to the problem. It’s not a mosque for religious purposes. This is what the people are objecting to.” Hooper called the remarks “utter nonsense,” saying Cain “seems to have hitched his wagon to the most

extreme anti-Muslim bigots out there.” He called on Republican leaders to repudiate Cain’s comments. “Each time you have someone who is regarded as a mainstream political leader expressing these kind of hatefilled views, it just fans the flames of anti-Muslim bigotry nationwide,” he said. “And it gives legitimacy to intolerance and hatred. And he, of all people, should realize this, being African-American.” In Murfreesboro, the future new mosque has been the subject of protests and counter-protests in the city about 35 miles southeast of Nashville.

HEALTH MATTERS
The LIVEr: The Minister of Defense
T
o defend, according to Webster, means to protect; guard from attack; or keep from harm or danger. This definition aptly describes the liver’s role in the maintenance of a healthy body. The liver, the largest internal organ of the human body, is located on the right side just underneath the dome of the diaphragm. Given this anatomical description of the liver brings to my mind the words recorded at Psalm 61:3: “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.” (The liver, associated with strength and courage, is sheltered under the dome of the diaphragm.) The liver, the original multitasker, performs 500 tasks every minute! Even though each of the tasks is necessary for the vitality of the body, its role as the detoxifier of the bloodstream is of utmost importance. As the first line of defense, the liver is responsible for the elimination of harmful substances from the bloodstream. It serves in a dual capacity: as an organ, the liver balances hormones, converts carbohydrates, fats and proteins into energy or storage; as a gland, it secretes bile into the digesBARBARA tive system to assist in the digestion of fats, among a large ECHOLS number of other things. Harmful substances are derived from the intake of phony foods, hazardous environmental particulates and chemical drugs. These substances pose a threat to a well-functioning liver. Phony (processed) foods are packaged in bottles, boxes or cans. The local grocery store is full of phony foods. The preservatives and chemicals necessary to prolong shelf life are not easily eliminated from the body. The retention of these preservatives and chemicals in the body is especially harmful to the liver. Hazardous environmental particulates are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the materials we use for the application of wall paper, tile, carpeting, etc. Soft plastic food and beverage containers can also be a source of harmful particulates. Chemical drug names are not only unpronounceable, they are also indigestible, and therefore, leave harmful residue in the body. Listen carefully to chemical drug advertisements, you will note the majority of them caution your taking the drug, if you have liver concerns. Excessive alcohol consumption and recreational drugs are harmful to the well¬functioning of the liver. In fact, excessive alcohol and recreational drugs will ultimately harden the liver, preventing its function. Blood cannot flow freely through a hardened liver. When there is not a free flow of blood through the liver, blood begins to back up, causing pressure in the body; such pressure exhibits as swollen legs and/or distention of the abdomen. A poorly functioning liver also affects emotions. Persons easily angered, irritated or irrational are exhibiting the need to cleanse the liver. Persons who are restless or fidgety, suffer with frequent headaches or break out in inexplicable rashes frequently should consider the need to cleanse the liver. To assure the liver is able to carry out its function of fat digestion and defense from chemical invaders, a liver cleanse should be undertaken routinely, three or 4 times a year for 10-14 days. Sodium is the most beneficial cleanser for the liver. (Not Sodium Chloride.) Sodium is plentiful in fresh lemon juice. Add 1⁄4 cup of fresh lemon juice to a cup of boiled water and drink it on an empty stomach for 10-14 days, every 3 months. Dark green leafy vegetables, eaten raw, benefit the liver tremendously. Zucchini, in particular, because of its high Sodium content, is very good for cleansing the liver. The liver requires Vitamin B complex for nourishment. Vitamin B complex is plentiful in brown rice, wheat germ, oats, walnuts, almonds, and pecans. Include such foods in the daily diet to provide nourishment, specifically for the liver. Red beets are also an excellent source of nourishment for the liver.
Tips on Reducing Belly Fat Eat at this magic hour "You must eat a snack that contains protein between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Go for a protein bar, a piece of lowfat cheese, or some almonds with an organic apple. No matter what, do not miss that snack. It's important because it boosts metabolism and balances blood sugar. The lower you keep your blood sugar, the lower you keep your insulin, and insulin makes you store fat around your middle. Eating every three to four hours will keep your blood sugar even, but many people tend to go five or six hours between lunch and dinner without eating." –Natasha Turner, naturopathic doctor, author of The Hormone Diet
Fat Cure Put crunches last on your flat-belly list (for real!) "I recommend the DCBA approach: Diet first, Cardio second, Building muscle third, and Abs exercises last. Follow it and you can safely lose one to two pounds a week. Spend 60 minutes
a day preparing healthier meals. Spend 20 minutes a day three to five times weekly doing cardio. Spend 15 minutes a day three times a week strength training. Finally, spend 5 minutes a day three times a week doing abs exercises." –Myatt Murphy, author of The Body You Want in the Time You Have
Beef up on this belly-zapping hormone "Eat as close to zero grams of sugar as possible. This will keep insulin levels low and also keep levels of glucagon high. Glucagon, a hormone, is the best friend you could ever have in the struggle for a flat belly! Picture Ms. Pac-Man traveling around your waistline, gobbling up fat to be used as energy. That is glucagon. The closer to zero grams of sugar you consume, the lower your insulin and the higher your glucagon...it's as simple as that." –Jorge Cruise, author of The Belly

SPEAK OUT! BlackAgendaReport
Rupert Murdoch and Media Corruption by Margaret Kimberley
I
f it can be said that there is one lord of world wide corporate media, that person is Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch’s News Corporation reigns supreme in television and print media in his native Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. Americans are most familiar with News Corporation ownership of the Fox news cable channel, the New York Post, Dow Jones Inc., the Wall Street Journal, and Twentieth Century Fox film studio among others. The Murdoch organization is not just big, but has a distinct political point of view. Despite the claim of being “fair and balanced” Fox news and other Murdoch outlets blatantly promote and protect conservative interests and politics. One of Murdoch’s British newspapers, the News of the World, is embroiled in a scandal so overwhelming that it caused the mogul to close down that publication. Over a period of years, the News of the World hired private investigators to hack into the voice mail messages of members of the British royal family, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, celebrities, and other prominent people. “Fox news and other Murdoch outlets blatantly promote and protect conservative interests and politics.” The News of the World settled out of court with some of those injured by the invasion of privacy. In other cases, a reporter and an investigator were sentenced to jail for their actions. These cases are not new, and have been percolating just below the surface with the News Corporation successfully minimizing bad publicity. The ability to keep this sordid news from affecting the conglomerate until recently is just one indicator of the very corrupt relationship between corporate media and politicians. British Prime Minister David Cameron tapped Andy Coulson, a former News of the World editor, to be his communications director. This appointment came about despite the emerging scandal. Coulson eventually resigned as the story unfolded, and he has since been arrested, but his hiring proved that Murdoch felt he had nothing to fear from politicians and that he was probably right to be so unconcerned. As with all wrong doing however, some truth came eventually to light that changed the equation. A story broke which involved not just phone hacking but police misconduct and interference with a kidnapping and murder investigation. In 2002 a British teenager was abducted and later found murdered. During the time she was missing and still not accounted for, her voice mails were deleted and her family was given false hope that she was still alive. It was a News of the World private investigator who deleted the voice mails and compromised an ongoing police investigation. Some police officers were misdirected in their investigation of the case, while others were on the take and gave News of the World backchannel information in an effort to keep a good relationship with the corporate power house. The recognition of this conduct caused immediate and universal revulsion among the British public, frightened advertisers, and caused politicians to outdo one another in condemning the publication. All of this makes good fodder for the rest of the media, but no one is talking about what all of this says about government and press relations and not just in Britain but in this country as well. Murdoch received a permanent waiver of FCC rules that prohibit ownership of a newspaper and television station in the same city. The New York Post and WNYW television are all allowed to remain in his hands, and give him a disproportionately large voice in the media capital of the United States. The media are controlled by many wealthy individuals and corporations, and our ability get useful information is compromised in this process. Money is a corrupting influence and corruption in the media is particularly pernicious. Throughout history, the press have influenced public opinion, and by doing so shape events and influence popular thought on the important issues of the moment. When the media are concentrated into fewer and fewer and wealthier hands, the potential for abuse is enormous. Murdoch was not the only media beneficiary when the FCC allowed him and others to consolidate their power and influence. He is just one of the most prominent. Bad publicity aside, there is every reason to believe that Murdoch will succeed in purchasing Britain’s Sky News Service. He may be delayed by these events, but he is rich and powerful and will eventually emerge triumphant. Depending upon which way the political winds blow, more reporters, editors Page 10
News from Prisoners Are People Too, Inc. Divided We Fall... *Prisoners Are People Too, Inc. Supports the California Prisoners Hunger Strike-- On July 1, 2011, prisoners at Pelican Bay, in general population and in the SHU (Security Housing Unit, aka solitary confinement), began a hunger strike to bring attention to the need for meaningful changes in the prison’s conditions and policies, especially those relating to the SHU. At least 6,600 prisoners have joined that strike at a number of prisons around the state including Corcoran, San Quentin, and Valley State Prison for Women. What happens in the SHU is torture, as men and women in solitary spend 22 ½ hours in small, concrete, windowless cells with no human contact and 1 ½ hours in a confined concrete yard. There are prisoners who have lived under these conditions for decades. As the strike has continued, some prisoners began to exhibit deteriorating health conditions KARIMA last week. Since the beginning, they have been asking AMIN to negotiate with the CDCR (California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation). At the end of last week, the strikers rejected a vaguely worded offer by the CDCR that promised to "effect a comprehensive assessment of its existing policy and procedure", but did not guarantee that any action would be taken to affect changes in the system. The prisoners have outside supporters in the US and Canada. Here in Buffalo, we are urging people to write letters, make phone calls and join us in prayer and fasting. For more information and updates, go to: http://prisonerhungerstrikesolidarity.wordpress.com/ *Prisoners Are People Too, Inc. Meets on Monday, July 25-- The next meeting of PRP2, Inc. will focus on what is being done (or not being done) for the youth in our community. Individuals from county and city government respectively, Mr. David Rust and Mr. Otis Barker, will join us later in the year to talk about the Youth Bureau, Division for Youth, and the Secure Youth Detention Facility. Meanwhile, on July 25 at the Pratt-Willert Community Center, 422 Pratt St. in Buffalo, 6:30 – 8:30pm, we will be joined by two men who have taken a personal interest in mentoring our youth. Their volunteerism on behalf of our children is commendable. While the work that they do is certainly not the only work being done, we hope that highlighting their efforts at a PRP2, Inc. meeting will serve to inspire others who want to help our young people to get on the right path and stay there. Mr. Robert A. Harris, Sr., better known as “Brother Rob,” is President and C.E.O. of the “Youth Prison Prevention Project.” He speaks to youth “in their own language of Hip Hop and reveals to them the booby traps and deceptions of the streets.” Brother Charles Burgin heads up the “Brotherman’s Progress Mentoring Matters Organization.” He communicates a message of peace through mentoring troubled youths. A related documentary film will be screened. and corrupt police officers may suffer, but it is the man with the gold who makes the rules. Politicians in London, New York and Washington will still dance to the tune of the Murdochs of the world. Dear Editor: Living in the city of Buffalo N.Y., I cannot recall our city, as great as it is, for being much of a melting pot for diversity. Buffalo is ranked number six among the most segregated cities in the U.S. Our community has been so divided that it has become the norm. For example, the east-side is occupied by African Americans, the west-side occupied by Latino Americans/ Foreigners, leaving the suburbs occupied by Caucasian Americans. It is understandable that the economic strife has a great influence on how we distribute our income. Which explains the environment that we are afforded and choose to live in. But it does not explain the stereotypical ideals of the people who reside in these geographical regions. As a legal intern I am thankful for the opportunity to first hand experience the effects of discrimination on those who are negatively put into stereotypical categories based on where they reside. Buffalo was once cited by the United nations as one of the worst rates of economic inequality in the world and that it was racially based. I feel that our community needs to be the change to set an example representing unity to our younger generation. If we continue to pull apart we should question whether we condone ignorance or remain anonymous to discrimination. Catherine Ejimadu

“Uniting Leaders to Combat Sexual Exploitation in the Mobile Age”
-Conclusion-
Many youth who send “sexting” messages or sexual images are able to utilize cell phones without being monitored by their parents or in some cases are able to arrange paying their own bill. It was pointed out that 98% of parents approve of their children having cell phones because of the safety in being able to communicate with their child at anytime. What is not safe is the invasion of the internet with unsolicited messages and images inviting youth to sex, drugs, crime, violence etc.. The most popular video consoles (X-Box, Sega, Nintendo etc.) also have access to the internet. Basically, children and youth have numerous ways of being exposed to the internet besides a computer or laptop. Mr. Largent referred to his company website www.besmartwireless.com for helpful information for parents to help secure their wireless devices and create Imam Fajri safer environments. Participants of the summit divided up into groups and offered action steps to help better inform the public on how to combat exploitation and pornography. Some of the action steps included: • Supporting federal legislation such as the domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and victims Act. • At the State level, support and promote anti-trafficking legislation that is in accord with the Protective Innocence legislative Framework. • Include information about trafficking, its victims, and perpetrators in organization newsletters, on websites and other communication vehicles. • Provide orientation and training sessions, or join with other organizations in hosting information forums on the trafficking problem and the resolve to counter it. • Inform your constituents/members/congregations about the scope and nature of the sex trafficking problem globally as well as in the United States, and how it is a “voracious demand” (State Department) for commercial sex (pornography, stripping, prostitutions, massage parlors, etc.) that is at the root of the existence and growth of sex trafficking. Some of the websites that were shared at the summit where you can find additional information on how to protect your children and get information on how to combat the use of pornography are; www.convenanteyes.com,www. pornharms.com, www.enough.org, www.sharedhope.org, and www.besmartwireless.com. How does the Qur’an address the issues surrounding pornography and sexual exploitation? The Qur’an is The Book of Guidance revealed by G-d(Allah) to Muhammad for the benefit and relevance of all humanity not just Muslims. Here are a few related verses from the Qur’an. 24:30-31 “Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them and G-d is well acquainted with all that they do.” “And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (ordinarily) appear thereof: that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands fathers, their sons, their husbands sons, their brothers or their brothers sons, or sisters sons, or their women, or the servants whom their right hands possess, or male attendants free of sexual desires. Or small children who have no carnal knowledge of women: and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And O you who believe! Turn you all together towards G-d in repentance that you may be successful.” 7:80-81 “We also sent Lut: he said to his people: Do you commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For you practice your lust on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.” 24:21“O you who believe! Follow not Satan’s footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is indecent and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah (G-d) on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah (G-d) doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One who hears and knows (all things).” We encourage all people of faith and families to discuss the challenges of sexual exploitation that our children are encountering today.

Remembering Frantz Fanon Frantz Fanon’s is noted for his analysis of racism and alienation, lack of self-esteem, and perspective of how protracted imperialist and colonial violence finally forces the oppressed to respond in an aggressive retaliatory violent response to address their depraved condition. Rebellious violent responses are natural when oppressed and repressed peoples reach the limit of tolerance to their submission. Wendesday, July 20, 2011 would have been the 86 anniversary of the birth of Frantz Fanon, born in Martinique, a French colony since 1635 (it became part of the French overseas department in 1946). Fanon, who was mentored by Aime Cesaire, a leading figure in the negritude movement while simultaneously being a preeminent activist in the French Communist Party went to France to learn medicine, where he was sent to Algeria, France’s largest colony. After observing how France ruled its society in general and its the colonies in particular, especially those wretched souls who had been institutionalized in mental hospitals, Fanon realized how deep French racism was imbedded in both civil society and the military. He found a feeling of disgust and alienation with the inhumanity and contradictions in Paris and their brutal and exploitive methods. As a result, he eventually evolved to commit himself to the Algerian national liberation struggle in North Africa, going on to play a critical and dominate role in developing the theoretical analysis psychiatric care to those Algerians who were torn by the stress of trying to be both French and Algerian, the former silently strangling the latter. His brilliant work dealing with studies on violence and psychic damage among oppressed peoples revealed the depth that human consciousness can be subjected to when they are under the control of repressive regimes. His bestselling books include “The Wretched of the Earth”, “Black Skins, White Masks”, and “A Dying Colonialism”, among others, and although these works were written over four decades ago, they are still as relevant today as they were when he first wrote them. Fanon’s analysis of racism and alienation, lack of self-esteem, and perspective of how protracted imperialist and colonial violence finally forces the oppressed to respond in an aggressive retaliatory violent response to address their depraved condition. Rebellious violent responses are natural when oppressed and repressed peoples reach the limits of tolerance to their submission. It would seem that understanding Fanon should be made a priority mandatory reading for U.S. foreign policy
makers who mistakenly believe that exploited and impoverished peoples do not understand the difference between foreign occupation and democratic self-determined social order.
Pushing Homosexuality:The Hidden Agenda
D
on’t think for a minute that the frenzied campaign to re-define homosexuality as an acceptable societal norm has tolerance, fairness, and sensitivity at its root. Don’t believe that we’ve simply grown and evolved to a more sophisticated level of understanding and relating, with more room for our fellow man and his choices in our hearts. The latest campaign by a world in outright rebellion against God has the same motive as all of its others: the desperate attempt to delay the coming of his kingdom. There is more to this movement than the desire of homosexual couples to be treated fairly, bestowed with state-sanctioned legitimacy, and the unhindered pursuit of happiness. Satan always works behind the scenes, behind the people he wants to use to accomplish his own purposes. – Hence the command to “face” the devil, so that he will flee. An example of such behind-the-scenes maneuvering was the so-called “Women’s Liberation Movement.” Sabirah That was the brainchild of wealthy societal planners who hatched a scheme to alleviate their problem of being unable Muhammad to tax an entire half of the population. They tapped into the legitimate dissatisfaction of women suffering real discrimination, and a few propaganda campaigns later, everyone knows “it takes two incomes to run a household.” Notice that the quality of life has not doubled, and that discrimination against women has not stopped. Similarly, the legitimate desire of homosexuals to be treated fairly and to be free of harm has reached a crescendo within the population (with help from the unseen hand). The clamor is now loud enough, and the desire for humane treatment is noble enough to cover the wicked who hide behind. In truth, they care nothing for the security, wellbeing or happiness of the group. It’s necessary to digress, to hold a peripheral conversation on the right or wrong of homosexuality. Necessary because the schemers behind the plot to legitimize it are actually gaining ground, increasing the level of tolerance for it, and causing many to question what they innately know is wrong. Peripheral because the subject under scrutiny is the hidden agenda, not the stated one. Peripheral because those engaged in this lifestyle have made their decision, (though they would swear it’s not a choice…), and the concern now is for the general population being cowed into silence, and acquiescent in the face of a seemingly irresistible juggernaut. It’s also necessary to set a respectful tone for this conversation, given the deeply personal, extremely sensitive, and now extremely politicized nature of the topic. But most importantly, it’s critical to do all that we can to check the freefall…the one that inevitably, immediately follows a society’s embrace of homosexuality, and to rescue children being reared in households and attending schools where they will surely learn it as a norm. Behind the mental gymnastics required to justify homosexuality are very obvious, common sense realities that belie the rationale. How obvious is it that a God who equates cleanliness with himself would not sanction sodomy – for one man to bathe in the waste receptacle of another? How obvious is it that the author of life, who produces everything in nature to generate more life would not approve of an act that produces no life? In fact, bathing in waste residue is to blame for reduction of life, as it contributes to the explosion of infection and disease. (No reference to the man-made AIDS virus). How obvious is the natural order of things when same sex couples get together and assign one partner the role of a man, and one partner the role of a woman? One naturally takes an authoritative, more aggressive role, and one has a more tender demeanor, acting as a helpmeet to the partner. Hence the terms “butch,” dike,” “pitching,” and “receiving.” Regarding the role of abuse, large numbers of homosexuals have been victimized by sexual predators, but somehow deny the role of this experience in their attractions today. Many are quick to either deny that the violation occurred, or that it plays a role in their current “orientation.” This denial is textbook victim response, and is evidence of a knowing that behavior born of vile degradation must be vile degradation. A tree that produces apples is an apple tree. The act of raping a child is perverse. Without healing, that act will produce perversion. Our church family has rightly given sanctuary to our homosexual family, but wrongly given sanction to homosexuality. What a grand leap it is to dismiss the entire Old Testament as invalid in order to justify homosexuality, and in the next breath, say that God changes not! It’s time. The forces driving this offensive against God and his way have advanced far enough without opposition. Who will make war with the beast? Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Kobe Bryant, Joakim Noah, Isaiah Washington, Tracy Morgan, The NYS Legislature… (By the way, did anybody ever get fined for hurling the word nigger)? Michael and his angels are warring with Satan in the skies…that is, in the lofty places, in our hearts and minds. We must have the courage to cast. Our loved ones who are homosexuals should remain our beloved, and be the recipients of our courage to speak the truth. More next time. Page 11

Manor Nursing Home, where she was confined to a locked third-floor dementia unit, and despite her objections, she was subjected to numerous unnecessary medical procedures. She was forced to submit to highly invasive daily enemas and suppositories. In a similar vein, without a written consent or a patient authorization, Grace Manor authorized the surgical extraction of three of Ms. Baity’s healthy teeth. Ms. Baity was also administered daily doses of the psychotropic medication, Risperdal, for the treatment of her alleged diagnosis of dementia that was never confirmed. Risperdal has been found to be potentially hazardous and could result in death. The New York State Department of Health, after conducting an investigation into the use of Risperdal by the nursing home, determined that there was no medical basis for administering the drug to Lula Baity and sanctioned Grace Manor. The system failed Ms. Baity New York State and federal law provides mandate procedures which must be followed in all situations involving the involuntary confinement or hospitalization of any citizen.”’ In the case of Lula Baity, no procedures, whatsoever, had been followed regarding crisis intervention or her involuntary confinement. She remained involuntarily confined at the locked dementia unit of Grace Manor Nursing Home for a period of 92 days. Ms. Baity’s niece, Carmen Britt, retained attorney Richard L. Baumgarten, who petitioned for writ of habeas corpus, which was granted by a New York State Supreme Court Judge. On January 10, 2004, after 102 days of being involuntarily confined to a hospital and nursing home, Lula Baity was allowed to return to her home. Soon after her release, Ms. Baity’s condition was evaluated by her primary care physician, a clinical psychologist, and a psychiatrist; all concluded that she was completely competent. Unable to put the horrors of these events behind her, however she was diagnosed with posttraumatic anxiety disorder. Despite her fragile health and ripe old age of 85 years, Ms. Baity filed suit against all responsible parties. She did not live to have her day in court or an opportunity to tell her story to a jury of her peers. She passed away on May 9, 2006.

very day, the federal government spends more money than it takes in. It makes up the difference by borrowing money. So every day, the government's debt increases. Some time next month, total federal debt will rise above $14.3 trillion. There's a law on the books — first passed in 1917, updated many times since — that caps the federal debt at $14.3 trillion. This is the debt ceiling. The government hit the limit May 16. Has Congress raised the debt limit before? Yes. The Treasury Department reports that since 1960, Congress has raised, extended or tweaked the debt limit 78 times. (Ten of those times have occurred since 2001. Forty-nine of those changes have occurred during Republican presidential administrations - seven times during President Bush’s administration - and 29 during Democratic ones.) Some time very soon, the government either has to raise the debt ceiling or stop spending more than it takes in (in other words, balance the budget. The Federal Government is out of borrowing room. It's as if it has hit the limit on its credit card. Yours might be $5,000. Theirs is $14 trillion.). Balancing the budget would mean cutting spending by about 40 percent, raising taxes by a comparable amount, or enacting some combination of massive spending cuts and huge tax increases. (Context: Every penny of discretionary spending, including defense, amounts to about 40 percent of the budget.) Trying to stay below the ceiling could also ultimately force the government to default on its debt, which has never happened in U.S. history. Because U.S. Treasury bonds are held JULY 20, 2011
around the world, and are considered nearly as safe as cash, a U.S. default would create economic chaos. The White House and congressional leaders are currently fighting over whether and how to raise the debt ceiling, as concerns mount that inaction will lead to a destructive financial riptide. Republican leaders have tied a potential debt limit deal to giant cuts in the federal deficit, and President Barack Obama is conducting daily meetings with the GOP to strike an agreement before the U.S. Treasury runs out of cash. That's set to happen on August 2. -How Will All This Affect You? Skanner News publisher (www. theskanner.com) writes: President Obama has made it clear that if an agreement on the debt ceiling is not reached before August 2, US seniors might not get their social security checks. “There may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” the president said. “This could include disability, unemployment, government contractors and all people who work for the US government.” Black America Web adds: If the government “maxes out its credit line,” and the debt ceiling is not raised, it’s possible the government will go into default on U.S. Treasury bonds, which represent our national debt. This will cause interest rates to rise because investors in U.S. Treasury bonds will demand to be paid higher interest rates to make up for the higher risk they are taking. Even if the government is timely in paying its debt, interest rates will probably still rise. That’s because the government’s inability to pay all of its bills will have a negative effect on its creditworthiness. There are several ways this can affect you: • Interest rates on your credit card will rise, so having an unpaid balance will end up costing you more. To avoid the hit, pay down your credit card debt as much as possible. • Mortgage rates will increase. Faced with the possibility of higher monthly mortgage payments, home buyers will put pressure on sellers to reduce home prices further.

• Overall borrowing costs will increase, whether you are seeking a home equity line of credit or a car loan. • The value of the dollar will drop, making it more expensive to buy imported goods. This includes gasoline and many household goods we routinely purchase at Walmart or Target. It may not seem obvious why the value of the dollar is affected, so here’s one way to think about it: Foreign investors hold about 50 percent of U.S. Treasury bonds. They don’t want to face the possibility of a U.S. government default, so, as a preventive measure, they will sell their Treasury bonds and invest in other countries. When they do this, they are selling U.S. dollars and buying other foreign currencies. This makes the dollar less valuable when compared to the other foreign currencies. • If you are invested in the stock market, either directly or through mutual funds that invest in stocks, you could experience a decline in the value of your investments because the uncertainty about the government’s ability to pay debt and all of its bills will cause the stock market to drop in the short term.
