Tanzania
Programme Overview Take on the Maasai Land Experience on our Tanzania Community Challenge based at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha! Arusha is a sprawling, fast growing city with plenty to offer and plenty of need. This volunteering challenge is truly unique and will test your ability to organize, communicate, and achieve goals as part of a team. Whether you are helping to build a foundation of English with Nursery students, teaching English and employability skills to local Maasai, or addressing important youth development needs, this volunteer placement will allow you to be part of a team working hard to make a difference in local schools and communities with real need. The positive effects of this programme will be immediately evident during your stay in Tanzania. You will witness the children grow in confidence and learning the skills YOU teach, will leave a lasting memory that will never be forgotten!
Tanzania Key Focus In Tanzania, we work with children and communities based in Arusha and the surrounding areas. These are mostly low-income families who have limited access to education, health services, and valuable life skills.  The focus of our programmes are in school development initiatives that help us increase our impact through a variety of projects. This is where all your hard work in fundraising will help make a difference. Projects such as creating vegetable gardens so that the schools can eat off the land and sell produce. Supporting a football programme in order to keep children off the streets after school and teaching them about health, nutrition and exercise. Also improving school classrooms and play areas are just some of the fantastic programmes are volunteers have undertaken in the past year.Â
