RESEARCH CONCLUSIONS
General research and cleaning expeiments provided opportunity to give following conclusions: - TYPES OF GARBAGE, ITS ORIGINS AND ZONES OF CONCENTRATIONS ON THE STREET Were defined types of garbage and places where it’s concentrated which analysis can help in the future to define the most problematic and dangerous areas and causes of their occurrence. - QUESTION OF RESPONSIBILITY Who should be responsible?.. Based on the people’s answers both the municipality and residents of the districts are responsible for the cleanness of the streets. The municipality is responsible in the part of: 1. Providing general cleaning services and sources. 2. Creating special areas as, for example, dog’s aviaries. 3. Providing information of how to behave responsiblly to keep the streets clean, why it’s needed. Residents are responsible for: 1. Maintaining the cleanness of the streets (what includes, for instance, throwing garbage in special containers and picking up pet’s remnants of livelihoods). 2. Helping and informing municipal services about existing problems in terms of garbage. 3. Practical education in part of how to keeping the streets clean (for example, educationg children to behave responsibly to the streets).

INTRODUCTION
DESIGN PROPOSAL
Initial idea was to make a barter/rewarding scheme, when people clean the street and in exchange get something in return (a cup of coffee/tea, simple food or service (like, tickets for the train, metro or bus)). However, I saw drinks and food as more intresting solution, as then people can stay longer and will able to enjoy their work and meanwhile chatting with other participants or just passers-by. The meaning of it was first of all to get people involved in the process as it supposed to make them more responsible for the public space (if they clean a spot once, they will fell more connected with it).
Design process can be divided into 3 stages: - DESIGN 1 (Eindhoven) After returning from Athens was built a main concept which core idea was to create a mobile device that can be put on the street to get people intrested in its cleaning. As the result of this stage was designed a CLEANING BAR. - DESIGN 2 (Athens) In Athens the idea was simplified to a CLEANING SUIT due to lack of time and sources. - DESIGN 3 (Eindhoven) Final design is presented as a CLEANING TROLLEY which combines the advantages of the first two concepts and takes into account all the advantages of them.

CLEANING BAR As was said before, my initial idea was to make a barter/rewarding scheme, where people clean the street and in exchange get something in return (a cup of coffee/tea, simple food or service (like, tickets for the train, metro or bus)). ‘Cleaning bar’ seemed the best solution to serve all the requirements. WHAT DID NOT WORK OUT? In Athens design had been changed because of lack of time and sources’ to make it.

CLEANING SUIT Due to lack of time and sources the first concept was simplified to the ’Cleaning suit’, which supposed to highlite me on the street and make clear for the passersby that I am not just a ‘street cleaning worker’. WHAT DID NOT WORK OUT? After testing cleaning suit on the street was made following conclusions: - the drinking part should be presented better in design. It should be clear for a interviewees that they can drink some tea/coffee with me. - the shape and material does not suit required function. The material was to hard and not flexible which limited my movements.

CLEANING TROLLEY (+ APRON) While designing my final cleaning device I took into account all the advantages of my previous experiments and concepts. - my cleaning trolley is mobile and at the same time can be fixed on the street; - it is more visible and can grab people’s attention; - ‘drinking‘ part is represented much better. The trolley can be unfolded into a small table which can be used for preparing and drinking tea/cof fee; - it containts more cleaning tools and food; - ‘drinking‘ and ‘cleaning‘ parts are separated.
