people and businesses together to do important and meaningful projects for the local economy. In 2017, the Brenham/Washington County Chamber will celebrate 100 years of fulfilling this mission. As part of the Chamber Centennial Celebration planned for 2017, the Chamber is seeking old photos from area businesses and/ or articles significant to the business community or the Chamber’s history. Was someone at your business or in your family a board member in the 40s, 50s, 60s or other decade? Do you have any photos from those days? “We’d love to see photos of business openings, chamber functions and members of the community involved in the Chamber over the years,” said James Pharaon, who serves as the Chair of the
Washington County Chamber’s Centennial Committee. The Chamber plans to compile the photos and information submitted by members and the community into a special edition insert in The Banner-Press newspaper next year. They will also be feature on the Chamber website and in social media. This major milestone anniversary will be celebrated throughout the year with events that recognize the achievements of the organization including a community-wide picnic on March 24, 2017, and special presentations at Chamber functions. If you have any old photos or items you would like to share for the Chamber Centennial, please send to events@brenhamtexas. com.
