YOUR DAY DOWNTOWN
With over 150 stores, restaurants, and business services, there is something for everyone in historic Downtown Toccoa.
We recommend spending breakfast, lunch, and dinner downtown, with time for exploring our quaint shops and unique storefronts in between!

Start your morning by visiting us at the Main Street Office, located on the third floor of City Hall. We’re open bright and early at 8am, folks! We’d love to give you a free historic plaque booklet that you can bring with you as you visit our downtown.
For breakfast, there’s no place in Toccoa quite like BJ’s (which happens to serve a great lunch, too!). Enjoy the made-from-scratch biscuits, a hot cup of coffee, and friendly faces. For lunch, visit Shirley’s Sole Food, featured on Alton Brown’s Feasting on Asphalt. This homegrown eatery features some of the best food in all of Georgia, so get there early to get a table! For another option, The Rebel Café features a classic lunch counter with some good food and great conversations. And when you’re hungry again, have dinner at the X-Factor Grill, featuring great food like shrimp and grits and cold beer, or Puerto Nuevo, for a spicy Mexican dish complemented by a frosty margarita. Treat yourself to a cupcake at Victoria’s Sweet Treats for a delectable dessert! For a rare treat, enjoy getting pampered between your meals with a trip to Details 73 Hair Salon or Spa & Salon Anastasia. Both of these businesses, as well as others downtown, offer luxurious spa services perfect for a romantic day trip or “me-time.”
Shopping options are unique and range from All Things Currahee, a celebration of our local artists and craft vendors, to CK Morgan & Company, which provides personal and monogrammed gift items for that extra special someone. Troup’s Studio is one of Downtown Toccoa’s oldest establishments. In addition to photography, Troup’s is our regional Hallmark store and provides name-brand merchandise, ornaments, gift cards, and more! On the way home, stop by Downtown Flowers to bring your loved ones some flowers from an award-winning local supplier. Or enjoy painting classes at Tugalo Station.
If you’re staying the night, enjoy a show at the Historic Ritz Theatre before meandering back to the Simmons-Bond Inn Bed & Breakfast or Country Hearth Inn. And don’t forget a tour of the Currahee Military Museum the next morning before you leave or a stop at the Cornerstone Antique Market to find that hidden treasure! Before you leave, don’t forget to sign the guest book at the Toccoa-Stephens County Welcome Center. We can’t wait for you to enjoy your time in Historic Downtown Toccoa!
