Welcome to Chaminade’s Center for Excellence Summer Camp!
We’re excited to have your young Eagles join us for a summer filled with discovery, creativity, and fun.
Our camps provide an engaging mix of activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire hands-on learning. Whether exploring STEAM projects, outdoor adventures, or our Eagle Explorer programs, campers will make new friends, build confidence, and explore their interests in a dynamic and supportive environment.
At Chaminade, your child’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. We’ve created a secure and nurturing space where every camper can express themselves, take on new challenges, and grow academically and personally.
Our 2025 Summer Academy offers even more opportunities for students in grades K-12. Our weekly sessions provide hands-on learning with exciting themes, from robotics to reading and art to engineering. Our specialty camps—Musical Theater, VEX Robotics, and Sports Camps—let students dive deeper into their passions.

Learn how to use Command and Structure blocks to incorporate them into your builds. Activate your skills and take your Minecraft structures to the next level!
Discover the Lua coding language while designing experiences in ROBLOX®, an online universe where you can create anything you dream of. This class combines game design concepts, coding, and fun! New developers will learn to use Roblox’s Studio software to reimagine the popular game genres with their own custom code! Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program
Every child can code! Develop your skills as a young coder by exploring block coding, JavaScript, and Python concepts while making your playable mini-games. Designed to get elementary-aged students excitedThis introductory coding course is about technology through a series of hands-on and engaging learning challenges. Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

In this camp, you will go well beyond the limitations of the traditional 2D game design classes and create an immersive 3D world. Students will learn the physics behind bringing your animations to life with design tools used by real game developers! Create sophisticated sprite animations using simple-to-learn techniques that you can use in any 2D editor. Squash, stretch, and shade your creations to make your characters pop! Students do not need prior experience i n game design, animation, or sketching. Student-created games will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
This beginner game development course is designed to excite elementary-age students about technology through hands-on and engaging learning activities. Recreate classic video games while exploring level design and digital arts concepts. Experience child-friendly software while learning the game development process. Show off the awesome games you create on a special, password-protected website to share with your friends and family!
Content Creators
Find your voice and leave your mark on the world! Whether you are six or sixteen, it’s time to start a career as the next YouTube star. Explore the variety of content and personalities on YouTube and how to find your niche. Learn the Dos and Don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship. Develop your on-camera presence, channel branding, and professional editing skills. Take home a plan for launching your channel with the content created in class! Student projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
The Drones are here! Let the battles begin. This hands-on, interactive class will teach you how to fly drone robots safely. Working in teams, you can code your drone to compete in missions that will prepare you for the ultimate team challenge at the end of the week. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
Join Chaminade’s internationally recognized Eagle Engineering robotics team! Learn basic engineering concepts in a way that’s so fun you’ll forget that it’s preparing you as the next generation of innovators, inventors, and technicians. Students work in teams and create and operate a robot to compete in a game inspired by this year’s VEX Robotics Competition. No experience is necessary. The course fee includes a healthy snack and lunch every day of the week!
A fun, creative camp designed for artists to explore different mediums and techniques. Activities include building paper creatures, friendship bracelets, sculpting and painting figures, drawing, and more! This week is all about creativity and exploration.
Students will explore ceramics, printing/ stamp making, and acrylic painting, creating multiple pieces each week using the designated material. At the end of the camp, students will be able to showcase their work at an “art show” for friends, family, and other summer students to attend.

We are proud to partner with Cardboard Superheroes, a non-profit organization that fosters creativity, innovation, and the arts in education. As a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) driven organization, Cardboard Superheroes pushes the boundaries of learning, inspiring the next generation through hands-on artistic exploration.

Musical Theater Intensive
This summer, students entering grades 7-12 will present SEUSSICAL by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Faherty.
Three weeks of rehearsing daily from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, beginning June 9, will culminate in THREE performances on June 26, 27, and 28 at 7:30 pm on the Tutor Family Center for the Performing Arts stage. Participate in one of the most-performed shows in America!

Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza lovingly bringing to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo.
The powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are at the heart of this musical fable. Horton finds a speck of dust containing the Whos and must protect it from all who do not believe while guarding an abandoned egg left in his care. We travel from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos in song, dance, and cirque!
Guided by Broadway professionals, students will sharpen their skills and have fun in a supportive, non-competitive environment. Casting will take place by Saturday, June 7, with a placement audition. Information will be emailed by end of May.

This one-week course is designed to give students entering 2nd-6th grade the opportunity to develop their skills and techniques in the following areas: music, movement, and acting. Students will work on scenes and songs from SEUSSICAL by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Faherty.
This course will use Musical Theatre repertoire appropriate for the age, skill, talent, and ability of the students. Students will develop basic skills and knowledge in the rehearsal process and promote confidence in their performance abilities. Students will have an opportunity to show off their talents to friends and family at the end of the workshop July 11 at 2:00 pm at the Tutor Family Center for the Performing Arts
Join our whimsical world where young dancers embark on a journey of self-expression, creativity, and rhythmic exploration. This vibrant camp is specially crafted for children in the elementary age group, offering a delightful blend of movement, as they learn and try various dance genres.
Campers will have the opportunity to express themselves through various dance styles, fostering a sense of confidence and individuality.
In addition, movement, through fun group activities and collaborative dance routines, campers develop essential social skills. Friendships blossom as they share the excitement of mastering new dance moves together, in a supportive and inclusive environment.
No prior dance experience necessary.

Attire: Campers should come in athletic clothing that they are able to easily move in. Dance shoes are not necessary. Campers should be prepared to dance barefoot or in sneakers (hip hop).

This dance intensive will assist dancers in refining their technique in multiple dance styles. Master guest instructors and choreographers will also be a part of the instructional team. Let’s dance and cheer now that summer is near! Dance fundamentals and cheer will be the foundation of this camp. Learn cheers and fun choreography to perform for your friends and family at the end of the week. Join Chaminade’s Dance Director and L.A. Ram’s cheerleader, Jacquelyn Ward, to experience this fun-filled, funky week of dance!
Join us in the coolness of the gym with the varsity basketball coaching staff and players this summer to learn the skills and develop new ones! Players will learn offensive and defensive skills as well as have a great time. Players will be grouped by level of play and skill.
At our summer camp indoor soccer, participants learn sport-specific fundamentals and achieve personal-best performances.
Join our Coach Machuca and Coach Riley, as well as our varsity coaching staff and players, this summer to learn the skills needed to compete at the next level. Players will develop a strong foundation in football fundamentals, including passing, catching, tackling, and teamwork.
Join our Chaminade varsity coaching staff to see what Eagle Lacrosse is all about! Players will learn offensive and defensive skills as well as have a great time. Players will be grouped by level of play and skill.

Learn about the criminal justice system from the coaches of the five-time Los Angeles County Champion Chaminade Mock Trial Team. Students will learn the skills of trial advocacy including rules of evidence, how to examine witnesses, give opening statements, and make closing arguments. On the last day of camp, students will have the opportunity to present a criminal trial for parents and family. Open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
Spark Academy
This camp offers an enriching experience through its exploration of our weekly themes and are designed to captivate students in cross-disciplinary activities. This program ignites a lifelong passion for learning while fostering essential skills in language arts, science, engineering, and art and movement. Each week unveils a distinct curriculum, ensuring a dynamic and engaging educational journey without repetition. Students in our Eagle Explorer Camp participate in a series of activities carefully crafted to build upon one another. Spark the Imagination! Dream it, design it, build it! Campers will unleash their imagination and problem-solving abilities to bring their ideas to fruition. Each week, campers have the opportunity to develop new skills and tackle new challenges, with our weekly theme influencing the project curriculum. The Center for Excellence strives to accommodate your needs while maintaining efficient program operations. Please note the following policies regarding registration changes:
• Email Required: All changes must be submitted via email to centerforexcellence@chaminade.org
• Form Modifications: Once submitted, forms cannot be edited directly by participants.
• Change Fee: Effective May 1, 2025, a $25 administrative fee will apply to all camp changes
• Full Refund: Available for cancellations made at least one week prior to the program start date.
• Written Notice: Must be sent to centerforexcellence@chaminade.org
• Late Cancellations: No refunds for cancellations made less than one week before start date
• Credit Option: Fees from late cancellations may be applied to future programming
To ensure your child has the best possible experience, please bring:
• Refillable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout our active day
• Comfortable Shoes: Perfect for exploring and adventuring
• Positive Attitude: Essential for making friends and having fun!
• Outside toys or personal play items
• Note: Any unauthorized items may be held by staff until the end of the day
• Each student will be assigned to a counselor who will be responsible for taking students to class and assisting them during the day.
• All program materials will be provided to students in their classrooms, it is not necessary to bring any classroom supplies to summer programs.
• If you are participating in a sports camp, please be sure to wear appropriate athletic attire during the day, bring water and sunscreen.
• Dress code during the summer includes modest, school-appropriate summer attire and closed-toe shoes. No flip-flops please.
Aftercare 3:00 pm - to 5:30 pm daily
• Available for an additional weekly fee
• Located in Campus Ministry (to the right of the main entrance).
• Please pre-register for aftercare if you anticipate needing this service during the week to ensure that this service is appropriately staffed to guarantee the safety of all the children attending.
• If you pick up your child after 3:15 pm, you will pick them up in the Student Center and charged the appropriate fee.
• Aftercare ends promptly at 5:30 pm. If you are late picking up your child from aftercare, please note that campers picked up after 5:30 p.m. will be charged $1 per minute to be paid directly to the aftercare supervisor upon pick-up.

• Cancellation for full refund: Minimum 7 days notice
• Change fee implementation: May 1, 2025
