CHANGES
This evening, we stand by each other for one of the last times here as a class and it is most fitting that it is to celebrate with the Eucharist. We are here to thank God for the blessings given to us during our time here. For this mass, we chose the theme "Changes." Change is one constant in life. Our schooling has gone through many changes starting high school online to ending right next to each other tonight, to many changes in the world, at large. Personally, we have changed, too, gaining freedom and responsibility as grew older. As we move forward with our lives, we are confident that the Class of 2024 is uniquely poised to go out into the world and make great changes in the lives of others. We recognize all the talents that the Class of 202 4 possesses and we are excited to use them for good wherever we may go.

+Introductory Rites + Gathering Song: “Speak Life”
(Written by: Jamie Moore, Ryan Stevenson, Toby Mckeehan)
Verse 1:
Some days life feels perfect Other days, it just ain’t workin’ The good, the bad, the right, the wrong And everything in between Yo it’s crazy, amazing We can turn our heart through the words we say Mountains crumble with every syllable Hope can live or die.
Chorus:
So speak life, speak life to the deadest darkest night. Speak life, speak life when the sun won’t shine and you don’t know why Look into the eyes of the brokenhearted, Watch them come alive as soon as you speak hope You speak love, you speak You speak life, oh oh oh oh oh You speak life, oh oh oh oh oh.
Verse 2:
Some days the tongue gets twisted Other days my thoughts just fall apart. I do, I don’t, I will, I won’t. It’s like I’m drowning in the deep. Well, it’s crazy to imagine Words from my lips as the arms of compassion. Mountains crumble with every syllable Hope can live or die.
Chorus
+ Liturgy of the Word +
FIRST READING (Jeremiah 1: 4-9) Proclaimed by Brooke Mendes A reading from the Book of the prophet Jeremiah.
The word of the LORD came to me: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you. “Ah, Lord GOD!” I said, “I do not know how to speak. I am too young!” But the LORD answered me, Do not say, “I am too young.” To whomever I send you, you shall go; whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you oracle of the LORD. Then the LORD extended his hand and touched my mouth, saying to me, See, I place my words in your mouth!
The Word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM: (Psalm 63) Proclaimed by Lara Aline Kim
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord, thirsting for you, my God. My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord, thirsting for you, my God. Thirsting for you, my God.
SECOND READING
(Roman 8: 28-33; 35-39) Proclaimed by Amir Johnson A reading from the letter of St. Paul to the Romans.
We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
And those he predestined he also called; and those he called he also justified; and those he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword? As it is written: “For your sake we are being slain all the day; we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, nor future things, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Lector: The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION (Mass of Restoration)
Refrain: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! (2x)
GOSPEL (Matthew 5: 13-16)
Priest: The Lord be with you. All: And with your Spirit. Priest: A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew All: Glory to You, O Lord.
You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.
Priest: The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

(Written by Chris Tomlin, Pat Barrett, Ben Smith)

You make all things work together For my future and for my good You make all things work together For Your glory and for Your name

There's a healing light just beyond the clouds Though I've walked through fire I see clearly now I know nothing has been wasted, no failure or mistake You're an artist and a potter I'm the canvas and the clay

Are you hurting and broken within?
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin?
Jesus is calling
Have you come to the end of yourself?
Do you thirst for a drink from the well?
Jesus is calling

O come to the altar, the Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ

Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today, there's no reason to wait

From the ashes, a new life is born
Jesus is calling

“REMEMBRANCE (COMMUNION SONG)”
(Written by: Matt Maher & Matt Redman)
Verse 1:
Oh, how could it be
That my God would welcome me into this mystery ?
Say take this bread, take this wine
Now the simple made divine for any to receive
By Your mercy, we come to Your table
By Your grace, You are making us faithful
Chorus:
Lord, we remember You And remembrance leads us to worship And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion We respond to Your invitation, we remember You
Verse 2:
See His body, His blood
Know that He has overcome every trial we will face
None too lost to be saved
None too broken or ashamed, all are welcome in this place
By Your mercy, we come to Your table
By Your grace, You are making us faithful

Family of Mary Awards
The Family of Mary Award is one of the most significant awards that Chaminade gives at the end of each year. This is an award that is presented to a family graduating from Chaminade. We recognize in a special way those families who have made a longstanding commitment to Chaminade, sending not just one or two children to the school, but three or more children over the course of their tenure at Chaminade.
