Mr. Guerra's Welcome Message

Dear Chaminade Families,

Summertime provides an ideal opportunity for our community to intentionally take time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate our bodies, spirits (soul), and minds. This downtime is an important factor in keeping our collective spirits healthy and balanced. If your family hasn’t done so already, please take downtime to rest and renew because there is plenty of summertime remaining.

Though the frst day of school is over a month away, it is my privilege to be one of the frst to welcome you to the 2023-2024 academic year! Our annual summer newsletter contains important information about the return to school so please carefully review and use this as a guide to start the school year off right.

Again, welcome to the 2023-2024 academic year and I look forward to seeing everyone in August!

FRESHMEN CLASS OF 2027

Monday, August 14th

8:30am-1:00pm

All students should arrive between 8:00-8:25am and meet in Gym. Students need to be in full uniform but do not need laptop or school supplies. Lunch will be provided.

Tuesday, August 15th 8:30am-10:30Am

All students should arrive between 8:00-8:25am and meet in Gym. Students need to be in full uniform but do not need laptop or school supplies. ID & yearbook photos will be taken.

9th graders who have not yet picked up their laptop must attend a mandatory distribution session from 10:40-12:30.

All 10th, 11th, and 12th Grade Transfer Students

Tuesday, August 15th

8:30am-2:30Pm

All students should arrive between 8:00-8:25am and check in at front of Main Offce. Students need to be in full uniform and lunch will be provided. Students will receive laptop, attend their grade specifc meeting, and have their ID and yearbook photo taken.

NEW PARENT ORIENTATION

Sunday, August 13th

Join Mr. Guerra and administrators to learn about the high school orientation process, attendance policies, traffc plan, uniforms, schedule changes, and more!

Tuesday, August 15th orientation

All Returning 10th, 11th & 12th Grade Students

senior class of 2024 JUNIOR class of 2025

1:30-2:30pm

Meet in the Tutor Center. All students should arrive between 1:00-1:25pm, in full Chaminade uniform and cleanly shaven.

ID photos will be taken. Seniors will not be allowed to leave campus on 1:30 days without current 2023-2024 school ID.

Students will be able to pick up preordered Senior and Spirit clothing (Sweatpants & Spirit Shirt) during this time.

12:30pm-1:30pm

Meet in the Tutor Center. All students should arrive between 12:00-12:25pm, in full Chaminade uniform and cleanly shaven.

SOPHOMORE Class of 2026

11:00Am - 12:00pm

Meet in the Tutor Center. All students should arrive between 10:30-10:55am, in full Chaminade uniform and cleanly shaven.

All Students will have ID & yearbook photo taken. Order photos online at www.whites-studio.com/k-11photos

Preordered spirit clothing will be available for pick up at orientation.

Students are invited to enjoy a treat from the Kona Shaved Ice Truck!

LAPTOP

Laptop distribution for all incoming 9th grade students will take place before the start of the academic year in August. Each student will attend a 90-minute training session. In the training session, students will learn the unique features of the Tablet PC and will be trained to use several new technologies and software to prepare them for the fall term. Students must remain for the entire time they select for their training. Parents and siblings may not attend the session on behalf of their student.

Students will have an "early bird" opportunity to pick up their computer on Monday, July 10. If a student is unable to make the "early bird" date, they will be able to receive their computer the day of freshmen orientation on Tuesday, August 15th. Orientation concludes at 10:30am, so if students opt to receive their computer that day, they should plan to stay on campus until 12:00pm.

Students will report to the Chaminade Tech Hub (Room 310) during their selected time. If a student received a computer from taking a 9th grade summer class, they do not need to sign up. If a student can’t attend next Monday, no action is required. We will plan for them to receive the laptop during orientation.

Tuesday, August 15th

All students will have school ID and yearbook portraits taken on Tuesday, August 15th. Please see Orientation schedule for grade-specifc times to be on campus. All students must be in uniform and cleanly shaven.

Seniors who want to leave campus for lunch on odd days, which is a senior privilege, must be at Orientation to get their ID for the 2023-2024 school year. Students will not be allowed to leave campus with last year's ID card.

We are pleased to share that the 2024 Aerie is once again included in tution and will be distributed to every student in May 2024.
