Mission Statement
Music is a means of expanding one’s knowledge, developing discipline, and forming achievable life goals. As a community based on Marianist values, the Chaminade Choral Music Program is commi ed to providing a thorough music educa on. Integra ng all types of musical genres and techniques allows us to master the universal language of music with the aid of fellow musicians and singers. Music brings us together through camaraderie and a sense of family which makes the program successful. This places aspiring singers and musicians in an enriching environment where they can grow not only as singers but as people of character and strong leadership skills.
The Chaminade Choral Music Program helps develop and nurture individuals to reach the highest level of personal integrity. It is through dedica on, determina on, and leadership, provided through the love of music, that every musician of the program can apply what they have learned into their lives, with the aim to become leaders and benefactors of our future.
MUSIC
Speaks what cannot be expressed
Soothes the mind and gives it rest
Heals the heart and makes it whole
Flows from heaven to the soul
A non‐audi oned middle school choir open to all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Students are given opportuni es to express their individual musical talents, and develop life skills that result in confident and expressive singing. Students learn proper vocal reading technique, strengthen sight-reading skills, and perform a wide variety of song repertoire while experiencing the joy of choral singing.
Over the years, the C‐Notes have performed at Chaminade University (Hawaii); Heritage Choral Fes val (Anaheim & San Diego, CA), Music in the Parks Choral Fes val (Placen a & Valencia, CA) and other events such as the America Sings Fes val (Washington DC).
Each year, the C‐Notes take a Vocal Soundtrack Recording workshop at Disneyland in Anaheim and/or par cipate in an adjudicated choral fes val where they have consistently earned a “gold” ranking in the middle school concert choir division.
The Chaminade C‐Notes have had the dis nct honor of performing on the Carnegie Hall stage in 2011,2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and were selected by audi on to be the “feature choir” in the Na onal Youth Fes val at Carnegie Hall in 2011, 2013, and 2015.
They traveled to New York City in March 2023 to par cipate in Choirs of America Na onals for Top Choirs. It was a memorable trip with 3 main events: a NY city tour, an adjudicated choral fesval at Queens College where the C-Notes were awarded with a superior ra ng, and an epic performance at Carnegie Hall.

To the Chaminade community, my second family for the past twentytwo years,
As most of you know, I will be re ring in a few weeks, and I wanted to take just a few moments to thank you all so much for what has been such a fulfilling part of my life in a place where I have felt so joyful, crea ve and capable.
To the amazing students in the Classes of 2001- 2023: Sharing your journey through your middle school years was such a source of joy for me. Being able to make beau ful music with you and share your triumphs and some mes your tears was an honor I never took for granted. I always knew I was working with the very best students in the world, individuals who would go on to make a difference in this world and con nue to love, learn, and lead. I am so proud to know each one of you.
To all the wonderful and generous parents: Thank you for your support, your words of gra tude, and for trus ng me to play a small part in shaping your child’s futures. You raised a group of remarkable young persons of good character and good humor. It was an honor to work with them and with you.
And finally, to my colleagues, past and present, many of whom have become my truest and dearest friends: There are no words to express my gra tude for your friendship and affec on. We have shared so much mo re than just a profession; we have shared our lives, our ups and downs, our hopes, and along the way we became a family. Very few people can say that about their colleagues. You will always be in my heart wherever I go in the world.
I once heard it said “There is no such thing as an ending, just a place where you leave a story.” I know in the months and years ahead; I will always remember all the amazing memories I have been blessed with these past twenty-two years
Thank you for changing my life for the be er, Mrs. Kathy Rohrs
