CHAMINADE DANCE PRESENTS

O T N I G SWIN NG SPRI

March, 31 2021 | 5 PM | Chaminade College Preparatory

A NOTE FROM OUR DIRECTOR To our beloved audience, Today marks the first live performing arts event here at Chaminade in over one year. A year spent behind computer screens, confined to our homes, and left in constant wonder of what life moving forward might look like. Nevertheless, through the ever-inspiring beauty and healing potential of movement, we danced. We danced to let go of the fear, we danced to keep our hearts open and bodies strong, and we danced to stay connected to our boundless imaginative souls, taking us far away from our often uncertain and difficult reality. We have now emerged on the other side, still learning and ever adapting, as stronger, smarter, and more proficient artists. As we transfer movement created in bedrooms and living rooms to this platform, these dancers are eager to receive this new space as a gift that we could not be more thrilled to share with you! This performance would not be made possible without the work of our incredibly dedicated Chaminade team. From the deepest parts of our hearts, we would like to thank Mike, our amazing technical director, Karen Thumm and Yvette Bishop, my personal guiding lights and ever-helping hands, Lilian Barbeito, a key administrator in the design of this event, Lisa Magorien and Principal Guerra, our fearless leaders, and finally to you, our loyal audience of family, friends, faculty, and staff for your continuous support of dance! To my dancers, I wish each of you a fantastic and fulfilling experience tonight! Whether it be a long-anticipated return to the stage or your first time in front of an audience, I encourage you to enjoy. Be Honest, Be Brave, Be Yourself. These works are yours and it has been an honor to help you share them. Now, no matter be you joining us in person or at home, we warmly invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy as we Swing into Spring! With gratitude and sincerity, Paige Borowski Director of Dance Xxx
