TRAINING
DIVISION
1st Quarter Overview First quarter live fire training was a success under the new Training Captains, Ralph Barr and Steve Jackson. Quarter one was a review and practical application of search drills, garage door access, gable end attack, vertical ventilation, rehab, recycle, and gross decon.
We would like to thank the crews for showing up on time, working hard, and bringing a positive, willingness to learn.
Things to Think About:
Use 5-10 seconds of water in attic during gable end attack and re-evaluate fire conditions… Do not fill the attic with water
Set up hose properly outside the building for success inside
Have a plan for medic unit. If medic going inside with crew be sure to communicate within the crew and command
Communicate with your crew interior and move with a purpose
Always park ambulance in position to transport
Have a hoseline when opening a closed garage door
Understand limitations of ladder reach 6

CANCER
COMMITTEE
Bryce Cooper & family recently welcomed their daughter, Charlie Mae!
Did you know you can help to reduce your risk of certain cancers by following a healthful lifestyle? This link shows a suggestion of what types of foods you should eat and avoid to help deter cancer:

R E M I N D E R S Robert Krauel & family recently welcomed their son, Cooper James! When leaving the station, try to not start the apparatus until the crew is seated and buckled in. This will prevent filling the bay with idle exhaust.
Don't forget to decon your helmet and boots after a fire. Since we clean and swap out our turnouts, these items need to be addressed as well.
"I've been reading Superlife by Darin Olien and I'm enjoying it. Just a suggestion if you are interested. He also co-hosted a small series on Netflix with Zac Efron called "Down To Earth" which I also enjoyed." - Firefighter De DeMarino
