CURRENCY The brazilian currency is called Real (plural: Reais). Exchange rates changes everyday and we stongly recommend you to bring American dollars, because it's not easy to exchange Pounds, Peso and other currencies in Brazil. Here payments are only accepted in Reais (R$), so you should make your currency exchange at the airport when you arrive. Currency exchange can also be done at some travel agencies or at a few shopping centers in Manaus. Make sure before travelling ikf your credit and debit cards are valid in the city. Contact your bank, check the condition and terms of using the card in Manaus. Bring all those information to avoid problems after arriving in the city.
