Monthly Report for April Dear friends and donors, Charity organization Serbs for Serbs registered in the state of Illinois in United States in Jun 2010 by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is a 501(c)(3) notfor-profit charitable organization. Donation is tax-deductible to the extent followed by the law. On 30th September, 2011 we finally got the letter from department of the treasury (IRS) with tax exempt 501(c)3 approval. All donations to our organization donated from June 16, 2010 are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers of gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.
About Us The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world because of starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 the population and generally bad economic condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and other countries in the Balkan. An average couple has "fallen" on one child. Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in its own country in the following century if the nation, individuals and government don't wake up from the nescient in which they've fallen! On the other hand, nobody is talking about the families with many children which grieve by living in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their desire for implementing rights which belong to them. Their life stories, fears and problems are identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order to gain the attention of the public, media and even state. That's why the idea of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs arose. The organization was formed by a group of young and trustful people, who are united by the common vision of helping families blessed by many children and who are aware of the fact that even a small help means a lot for those who don't live in a material excess. We are united by the humane idea to help the poorest part of the Serbian nation. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian heritage as well as all good people throughout the world with minimal, but constant monthly donations. We hope and believe that there is also a grain of doing good and that you will join us in the endless struggle against poverty. God bless and save all Serbian families with many children and our honored donors who participate in the noble effort to return smile on children faces.

Monthly Report for April Ambitions
Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations. Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living.
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.
How to donate? 1. PayPal donation: szsamerika@gmail.com 2. Direct Deposit to Wells Fargo Bank account Please email us at: szsamerika@gmail.com 3. You can mail personal or business check to: Serbs for Serbs PO Box 34206, Chicago, IL 60634 4. Donation boxes: BEOGRAD CAFÉ 2937 West Irving Park Road Chicago, Illinois Owner: Dule Pavlovic
Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from socialdependable government programs.
NADA’S DELI & BAKERY 7316 West Lawrence Avenue Harwood Heights, Illinois
What are our long term goals? • family is ready to support itself daily and manage to pay all required expenses; • their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family; • our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families; • our organization is satisfied with the results; • family is ready in the future to become our donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

RESTORATION OF THE SEBIAN SCHOOL IN DALMATIA
As part of support to the project of recovery and restoration of the school premises in the village of Ridjane in Dalmatia for the needs of work of the Association “Women of the Kosovo valley, the Charity organization SERBS FOR SERBS provided elementary construction material in the amount of 265 Euro. The particular works on restoring the room for the library of this association will begin soon. The work of the future library has already been helped by our organization by providing 13 packages of books.
We indicate that it takes additional 3,200 Euro for the complete recovery of the school rooms which this association will use for their more than noble activities. The SERBS FOR SERBS will make an effort to provide additional means for this project, but at the same time we call upon all the people of good will and interested organizations to join this action in order to finish the project in short notice for the overall benefit of our people in that area. The Serbian National Forum from Borovo village near Osijek responded to the action of our organization with the donation in the amount of 14,500 RSD.

CONSTRUCTION WORKS BEGUN ON STOJKOVIC FAMILY HOUSE
Andrija and Luka with their mother, Danijela, beside the delivered construction material At the beginning of December 2015, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs started an action to help the Stojkovic family from the village of Izvor, Novo Brdo Municipality, in Kosovo and Metohija. Jagos and Danijela raise two sons, Andrija (5) and Luka (3). Aid which they received as part of the Christmas action 2014 just showed what problems they face and cannot sort out. The branch Serbs for Serbs Canada, started the campaign "In Time For Bozic 2016", and in cooperation with them, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs started the project to help the Stojkovic family. The most necessary things were construction material, doors and windows, in order to provide basic living conditions, so the cost of the material and workers’ wages was 745,000 RSD.

Monthly Report for April Life in Kosovo and Metohija for Serbs today is not easy at all, but the Stojkovics now have some hope. The big project of house restoration restored their faith in people, and they now know that there are kind-hearted people all over the world, who do everything they can to help those in need.

AID FOR DRAGICEVIC FAMILY FROM HERZEGOVINA
After several years, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs conducted another humanitarian action for a family Dragicevic, from the village Prebilovci in Herzegovina. This time we helped the Dragicevic family, consisting of the parents Nikola and Slavica, and their children, Sara (1) and Pavle (4). By providing the Dragicevic family with necessary equipment and seed for the project of cultivating watermelons, to the value of 1,500 Euro, they have been enabled to create conditions for a better life by investing their own work and effort. We hope that they will succeed in that, primarily so that young Sara and Pavle could have a carefree and happy childhood.

NEW AID FOR SERBS IN DALMATIA
Charity organization Serbs for Serbs will continue with collecting books and basic computing equipment for the needs of the mentioned association. In cooperation with a longstanding friend of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, Mr. Bane Kojic, and his associates, it has been continued with the aid project intended for “Zene Kosovske doline” Association from Uzdolje in Dalmatia. Apart from the support in restoring old school facilities for the needs of this association, consisting of providing construction material, we are simultaneously acquiring books for the future local library. This time, over a hundred copies of books and magazines were delivered, mostly to meet the needs of the youngest users. In addition, significant aid consisting of computing equipment was provided – two sets of computers with monitors (used) and a multifunction printer will be of great use for everyone in the association after the works are finished on the restoration of the school, which will be the future association headquarters, and where most activities will be taking place.

TRACTOR FOR TODOROVIC FAMILY
Father of the family, Ratko Todorovic, with the tractor The family lives on occasional daily wages, cattle breeding, and agriculture, so they decided to buy a used tractor, which would reduce their expenses of hiring a tractor from their neighbors, which costs a lot of money. We decided to help them with that by donating 75,000 RSD which they still needed to buy the tractor. Members of the Charity organization SERBS FOR SERBS from Belgrade visited the seven-member Todorovic family from the village Vodice near Smederevska Palanka. We have helped the Todorovics on several occasions, and this time we helped them by donating 75,000 RSD necessary for the purchase of a used tractor. The tractor came with two attachments (a bucket basket and a farm trailer). There are five children in the Todorovic family – Njegos (16), Jovana (14), Jovan (12), Luka (10), Stefan (9).
We are extremely satisfied to have met the needs of the Todorovics, because they are very honorable and hard working family, who used all the aid they received from us in a wise way, and thus showed us gratitude in the best possible way. When we provided them with new beds and a fridge, fitted out the bathroom, reconstructed the roof, in return they maintained the house in perfect order. When we provided them with a calf, they built a straw-bale stable and started breeding goats, sheep and pigs. Today, instead of the calf, they have two big cows which are now pregnant.
Jovan, Luka, and Stefan Todorovic in front of their tractor in the yard The Todorovics have contacted us recently with a new problem. Their son, Jovan, has had health problems his whole life, with over 20 operations and interventions on his chest so far. Unfortunately, a few months ago, he also had a tumor, which was removed quickly. Still, due to skin thinning and frequent wound opening, as well as regular therapies, the mother is forced to take him more often to Belgrade for check-ups and therapies, so the family’s expenses have become much bigger now. www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Not only have we significantly improved the living conditions of the Todorovic family and helped them to continue earning money for themselves, but we have also given them new hope, because they are not the same BEFORE and AFTER our visits. Their eyes full of gratitude are a reward enough for us and all our donors worldwide, who make all this possible with their selfless donations! We would like to invite you to continue with sending regular monthly donations, so we can make many other families happy in the same way!
The family did not stop at that. Hard working householder, Ratko, started digging out a fishpond inside his small estate in order to breed the fish for the needs of his family and also for sale.

SFS VISITED POPOVIC FAMILY FROM CELINAC
Popovic family house in the village Branesci
At the beginning of April, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited the six-member Popovic family from the village Branesci, Celinac municipality, in the Republic of Srpska. The family consists of the parents, Milanko and Slavka, and their four children: Ilijana (20), Milijana (17), Gojko (17), and Bojana (15). The Popovics were helped last year by purchasing seeding material to the amount of 485 BAM. The family lives on the minimum wage Milanko earns, working as a seasonal worker at a sawmill. They own a big piece of land, so they seed corn, which they later sell to sustain the family and provide education for their children.
Milanko took out a loan to buy a tractor, but he still needs a farm trailer and other tractor attachments, which he borrows or hires from others in the village. Since a farm trailer and a plow is what the Popovics need the most, our plan is to provide this aid, so they could use their own machinery to earn more money for the family.

SFS VISITED FAMILY CVIJETIC IN GLAMOC
Family Cvijetic is a returnee family living in the Glamoc municipality (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), in the Skucane village with 15 Serbian households. The village is located 10 km away from Glamoc (Glamoc is a small town with approximately 1,900 inhabitants). After the outbreak of the war in B&H, the Cvijetic family flew to Ugljevik where they lived until the August 2002 when they returned to Skucane. Like most of the returnees they didn’t find what they left in Skucane. The family was having a hard time during the refugee period as well as today.

The head of the family and the single father of nine children Radovan Cvijetic (1956) is currently living in his uncle’s house because he never succeeded in renovating his house which was impossible to live in when he returned in 2002. The oldest son is Ilija (1990), and then came Ilijana (1992), Mile (1993), Nikola (1995), Stojan (1997), Andjelka (1999), Marinko (2001), Dusan (2005) and Stoja (2008).

Monthly Report for April Stojan is in third grade of high school (catering school), Marinko is in eight grade of elementary school, and Stoja is in second grade of elementary school and all of them are walking on foot for 10 km to their schools. Andjelka is living in Belgrade at her aunt’s place and she is the second grade of high school (technical school).
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 They earn by selling milk and crops, but it is not sufficient for the 10 of them. Radovan’s wife died 4 years ago so the girls took over the chores. They don’t have enough money to go to school and after the four children who are still going to school have finished it they would work in the farm.
Tractor by which family Cvijetic is farming 3 ha of land Home of family Cvijetic The house has two floors, but one of them is not arranged and no one is living in it. The house has a living room and a kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is still no water in the house, but the family is using the well in front of the house. They have 3 ha of land which they are farming. They grow potato in greatest quantity and wheat and barley in minor quantities.
Nikola (1995) is currently in Mostar in a hospital having diagnosed with spinal cancer which has metastasized and he is receiving his third therapy. Nikola’s state is a bit better and he is filling better but it is a difficult disease and the recovery is very difficult. He’s been in a hospital for 3,5 months. The social service is paying the expenses of treatment and the Cvijetic family is paying the expenses of staying in the hospital.
Village of Skucani near Glamoc
Old Cvijetic family home in which they never moved in The old house in which they never moved in is used for storing seeds and hay. They own an old tractor which is often broken although it is being constantly repaired. Despite the fact it is dilapidated it is still serving the household. They have some livestock: 8 cows, 16 sheep and 10 laying hens. They have no permanent income, not even the child benefit and no one is employed.
Family Cvijetic is a nice family who welcomed and escorted us in a fine manner. They didn’t show their poverty and problems on their faces. They are very proud of each other and on their father who is working really hard. After taking photos they all continued with their duties around the house and on the farm. They could use any help. It was obvious that they need wardrobe and food. They expressed a wish to get a tractor (since they are making for life out of farming) as well as cows, sheep and seeds, although it is already late to get them the seeds other than potato.

Monthly Report for April SFS VISITED FAMILY LAZIC NEAR UGLJEVIK
After the pedagogue of the elementary school “Nikola Tesla” in Pilica, Ugljevik municipality addressed us for help, representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from the Republic of Srpska visited the eight-member family Lazic. Five out of six children from the Lazic family are attending this school. Radomir (1976) and his wife Snezana (1981) have six children: Dobrila (2001), Daliborka (2003), Mira (2004), Ratko (2006), Ranka (2008) and Svijetlana (2011). They live in the Gornja Krcina village, 27 km away from Ugljevik.
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 It is going to be difficult to provide the further schooling due to financial problems because there is no high school nearby, and the closest is in Ugljevik which is 27 km away which makes it impossible to travel or pay the dormitory.
The oldest daughter Dobrila has epilepsy and she is not attending school for a long time. Parents Radomir and Snezana are not employed and Snezana wouldn’t have the time due to chores and the children. The only regular income consists of child benefit in the amount of 140 BAM. Radomir is struggling on various ways to provide the money for his children. He is working for a wage in the neighborhood, cutting woods, digging etc. He is capable of working and he is not refusing any job nor is ashamed to work but those are short-term jobs for a day or two and for small amounts although he appreciates money and is thankful to everyone who is calling him and giving him the chance to earn money.
They live in an old-fashioned family house. The roof is in a very bad state (leaking in several places), and they have four functional rooms – bed room, kitchen, living room and a toilet. The sister from Switzerland is supporting them and she bought them the furniture and carpentry on credit. Snezana’s sister is having health issues and she is currently in Ugljevik. She is frequently visiting them and helping them according to her possibilities but it is not enough. Five out of six children go to elementary school: Mira (6th grade), Ratko (4th grade), Ranka (2nd grade), Dobrila (9th grade) and Daliborka (7th grade). They travel on foot for several kilometers.

Almost all the income family is making come from farming and animal husbandry Apart from the social service and charity organizations which are visiting them frequently there is no greater help although the individuals have helped of which the Lazic family is immensely thankful. They have the pigsty near the house and two pigs inside which they are growing for the winter. They have a large farm in which they sow as much as they need but unfortunately they don’t have enough money for more. When we asked them about the help they needed they were shrugging their shoulders, while the children were quietly observing and listening to our conversation. They were not sure where to start with and they were shy. They have no washing machine but they are carrying the laundry to the sister’s place in Donja Trnava, 5 km away from their house, nor the wood-burning stove because the old one is in very bad condition. Afterwards they expressed the wish to receive seeds and a tiller to farm the land. They had a cow until a few years ago. Radomir needs the chainsaw because he is working a lot in the wood (the existing one is in a bad condition). The horse with which Radomir could work around the house, in a wood and to earn could also be of great help. They need food and hygiene and of course, wardrobe for the children.
The youngest Svijetlana Lazic is leading us through her home The family Lazic welcomed us nicely and within two hours they shared their troubles and problems, led us through the farm and told us the story of their lives. They are struggling a lot and children are great treasure which is keeping them happy and smiled despite all problems. Ratko (2006) is not on the pictures because he hurt his head when he fell while he was playing with his sisters and he is recovering in a hospital in Ugljevik and coming out soon.
They are aware of the fact they can’t get everything but any help would be welcomed. The list of wishes is great but they were thankful for the visit of our organization itself because they are familiar with our charity work. WORKS ON BALJAK FAMILY HOUSE IN KRAJINA
Construction material in the yard of the Baljak family As part of the action „In time for Bozic“, which was started by the branch of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Canada, the plan is to help the Baljak family, living near Obrovac in Dalmatia, to renovate part of the house for the children to use. 6,403 Euros were paid for the purchase of construction material and doors and windows. The family consists of the parents, Trivun and Radmila, and their children, Petar (20), Branko (18), Milana (16), Bozidar (14), Biljana (13), and Zeljko (11). Since the family consists of so many children, it was decided to start the project so that the children would have basic living conditions, as well as conditions for their education. As part of the project, the plan is to repair the roof, floors, to adapt two rooms into bedrooms, and to build a proper bathroom. Since the money for the construction material had already been provided, we publish a photo report of the works which started not long ago. The plan is to finish with the works by the end of May.

Monthly Report for April CHARITY GATHERING IN GERMANY
As a part of the ''Easter action'', the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs Germany organized a charity event which was informative as well as entertaining. Meeting place was in Nurnberg, and the event was held on April 9, 2016.The turnout was great, the hall was filled with people of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest. A short film, which left no one in the hall indifferent, was shown about the work of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs and charity actions which were completed in the past ten years. A variety of emotions could be seen: curiosity, pride, sorrow, disbelief, astonishment, laughter, tears, grief, guilt, anger, joy and love. On their way out to go home, one by one, they all expressed how overwhelmed they were, and that they are going home with a belief that our fight is righteous and good and that we are setting the example of brotherly love and mercy. At the end of the evening, a total amount of 1,624.00 Euro was raised from individual donations, which will be used for underprivileged families in Kosovo and Krajina.
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Many new faces were seen which prove that our story is spreading more and more on all fields. And what is common for such events, we were selling flags, caps, sweatshirts and T-shirts from our SFS boutique, we distributed annual reports and talked to those interested in our work and thus giving answers to all possible questions regarding the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs itself and its way of operating.
We take this opportunity to thank the musical duet ''Zoran and Dejan'' which entertained everyone present that evening, the owners of „Sportgaststätte SC Viktoria“ restaurant for their offered services of renting out the facility and providing food and drinks, and of course we would like to thank all the guests who, with their presence that evening , demonstrated that there still exists a belief in charity work, and that confidence and trust in the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is growing and building up, and that people can really say that their contribution is going into the right hands.

Monthly Report for April
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 Milos Simovic, Trojka iz Bloka manager, and spokesman for the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, addressed the people of good will who came to support the mission which has been going on for five years. He pointed out that Obrenovac will witness the opening of the greatest season so far, and that the number of people, their smiles and energy hold the strength for all 40 upcoming tournaments: “This year we’ll break all records when it comes to the number of tournaments, and hopefully when it comes to raised funds, so we would be able to help as many socially disadvantaged families as possible”, Simovic said to Obrenovac residents.
“TROJKA IZ BLOKA” IN OBRENOVAC
The 5th season of Trojka iz Bloka was officially opened in Obrenovac on Saturday, April 16, at the courts across the Cultural Center. At 2pm sharp, the popular Sprite courts were too small for all the people who came to see the spectacle held in their town for the first time.
After that, Ivan Jegorovic, vice president of the Obrenovac Municipality, addressed his fellow townspeople. He did not hide satisfaction and gratitude, firstly to all the kind-hearted people who came and took part in the competition, and also to the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs for their selfless help to Obrenovac since the tragic floods of 2014. Shooting the first 3-pointer towards the basket, Jegorovic officially opened the tournament, and afterwards all participants, young and old, boys and girls, shot 3-pointers for a better tomorrow.
Great cooperation among the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, Obrenovac Municipality and numerous proud sponsors, donors and technical sponsors led to 105 participants and 88,550 RSD raised! Obrenovac Municipality, apart from technical sponsorship, promised to make a payment to the account of the Trojka iz Bloka, so we expect the total sum to be even bigger! The atmosphere on the banks of the river Sava was great, and at exactly 2pm the anthem of the Republic of Serbia was intoned, and everybody rose to solemnly hear and sing it.
Jegorovic shooting the first 3-pointer Funds raised at the tournament are not only measured in the amount of money, but also in the strength of unity and brotherly love, showed today by Obrenovac residents.
Milos Simovic and Ivan Jegorovic
By gathering and shooting 3-pointers, they showed to their disadvantaged fellow townspeople that they won’t leave them, and that they will help them, just like the whole Serbia helped Obrenovac through hard times.

Monthly Report for April “TROJKA IZ BLOKA” ON ZEMUN
The 2nd Trojka iz Bloka of the new jubilary season took place in Zemun, on April 17, at the courts of KK Mladost. Right from the banks of the river Sava, from Obrenovac, a big caravan of good deeds and intentions arrived on the gentle banks of the river Danube, in one of the most famous Serbian parts – Zemun. This is a place which has been known for the magic of the Zemun basketball for years, and the sports-charity project of the organization Serbs for Serbs, Trojka iz Bloka, arrived there to the invitation of true and well-intentioned Zemun residents. After the successful last year’s 1st Trojka in Zemun, this year we had even bigger success – 111 participants, 10 proud sponsors and technical support of the Zemun Municipality and KK Mladost led to the raised 116,200 RSD intended for helping a socially disadvantaged family from Zemun! We would like to congratulate the Zemun residents who showed what brotherly love and the power of good deeds can do – the courts of KK Mladost echoed with laughter and music and that is the biggest support and a message for the fellow townspeople in need – they are not alone!
www.serbsforserbs.org 2016 At 6pm sharp, the anthem of the Republic of Serbia, Boze Pravde, was intoned, and the people were proudly standing, honoring the most beautiful song of our people. The gathered were addressed by Milos Simovic, on behalf of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, and Mr. Nenad Vranjevac, member of the interim authority of the Zemun Municipality. They could not hide the satisfaction of being there that day – Simovic shortly presented the successes of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs and its biggest project Trojka iz Bloka, while Vranjevac thanked the Zemun residents and pointed out the traditional kindness and commitment to the fellow townspeople.

CYA, Djans, and of course the hosts in all tournaments, THC La Familija, together with Paja Koba33, contributed to the great atmosphere of the tournament.

They supported their neighbors, and rapped some of their hits. To the rhythm of their songs, 3-pointers were shot, while the lights at the courts of KK Mladost were on and the cadets of the Orthodox sports society Sveta Srbija were playing a friendly match with the cadets of KK Mladost. Incredible day for basketball, incredible day for all kind-hearted people! Beautiful girls from the Evolution dance club also contributed to the atmosphere, leaving everyone breathless! Video showing part of their show can be seen on our official facebook page!
The gathered Zemun residents enjoyed a great evening and tried delicious Agi Pastas, whose profit was also added to the total amount raised at the tournament. We would like to praise everybody, especially the cadets of the KK Mladost and Sveta Srbija who did their best in court, by chasing the ball, playing basketball, shooting 3-pointers and cheering their friends. The atmosphere became even more heated when the winners were announced. We would also like to thank the neighbors who cheered with us from their balconies and windows.
