My Favorite Cookies to Bake from a First Lady of the White House Baking is an amazing pastime for many people. It helps with relaxing and at the end, you get to eat the goods you make. You can bake alone or with your friends and family.
Story and photo by Natalia
People bake different treats for different occasions. For example, you could bake pancakes for breakfast and cookies for dessert. One of my favorite things to bake are cookies, because they're easy and simple. Anyone with the right materials and recipe can make a cookie. A recipe that I love to make is the Hillary Clinton chocolate chip cookies. It has a fabulous taste and a texture that anyone would enjoy. The cookies are very simple and easy to make. All you need are a few ingredients and a kitchen, which you hopefully have! The ingredients needed: 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup shortening 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 1 cups rolled oats 1 cups chocolate chips And a bowl Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the baking sheets. Add together flour, salt and baking soda. Mix together shortening, sugars and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, Mixing until light and fluffy. Slowly add in the flour mixture and oats.
Chocolate chip cookies were actually made by accident! Ruth Wakefield, the creator of the cookies, added chocolate bar pieces into the batter thinking that they would melt. They did not melt and instead became chocolate chip cookies.
Mix in chocolate chips. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them on the greased pan. Put them in the oven and bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool cookies on the counter for 10 minutes and enjoy! College for Kids | SU21

Gaming with You By William
W
elcome to gaming. Today I will tell you all about the new Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliff update and the new Fortnite update Chapter 2 Season 7.
Now, I told you about the Minecraft Caves and Cliff update, but now it's time to talk about the new Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
I will be talking about the ups and downs, pros and cons and the new changes in the game. So join me and let's learn about the new 1.17 update.
Fortnite's season 7 update is one of the best updates so far. It is an alien theme with the mother ship (a big BIG alien ship) flying above the map with a lot of people wondering what will happen next. There are new map changes, new NPC's (nonplayer characters) and new guns added in the game. But one thing the community is not happy about is the gold prizes, because last Fortnite Season 6, which was a wild season, the gold prizes were OK, but now in Season 7, one thing cost too much.
The new 1.17 Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update made a lot of people happy in the Minecraft community. But some of the changes in the caves and cliffs update were not that good. Such as the new ore changes, but the diamond ore stayed the same. The nether portal spawns changed. When you go back to the nether portal you will be teleported to somewhere new and not where you made the portal. But there is a lot of good stuff that was added to the game. Bigger caves and more common ways to get ores. New items to craft in the game and new mobs in the game. Now it's time to talk about the new mobs in the game. In the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update, there were four new mobs added in the game. A goat, an axolotl, a warden, and glow squids, and all these mobs have different abilities.

But in Season 7, there are alien NPC's and once you kill all of the alien NPC's you get a chance to fly a UFO. There are big UFOs that can suck you up. Once you enter the UFO you can get orbs and the more orbs you get the better the loot. you have a minute and 30 seconds to collect orbs. There are also time orbs that give you more time. Other players can shoot you and when you get shot you get blasted away!

Warriors 2020-2021 Season The Warriors 2020-2021 season was quite an interesting one. Let me tell you why. The Dubs (nickname) started their season on the day of the 2020 NBA draft, which was Nov. 19, 2020. Hours before the draft was set to start, Warriors fans and staff received devastating news that Klay Thompson had suffered a torn right achilles tendon during a practice in Los Angeles. Due to this injury, he would miss the entire 2020-2021 season. This would be his second-straight missed season due to an injury after tearing his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) in game 6 of the 2019 NBA finals against the Raptors. With the second overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, the Warriors selected James Wiseman, the former starting center for the Memphis Tigers. Later in the draft, the Warriors also selected Nico Mannion from Arizona as the 48th pick. Three days later, the Warriors would continue their offseason by trading two draft picks to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Kelly Oubre Jr. On the same day, former Warriors guard Kent Bazemore signed with the Warriors on a one-year deal. He was with the team from 2012-2014.
The Warriors started their season on Dec. 22, 2020 against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. Despite 20 points from Stephen Curry and 19 points from James Wiseman, the Warriors would lose 125-99 in their season-opener. Throughout December for the Warriors, they would lose two games to the Nets and Bucks and win two games against the Bulls and Pistons. During the calendar month of January for the Warriors, the Dubs would go 9-7. They won a notable game against the Portland Trail Blazers, where Stephen Curry scored 62 points, his career-high in points. The Warriors would finish February by winning eight games and losing seven.

Everyone has struggled during the pandemic, but small businesses have been hit the worst. Many of them have foreclosed. Many business owners think California could have handled it better with their policies. The owner of Lash Lab, Judy Norris, feels that the outright closing was a kneejerk reaction to something that they did not understand fully. It was good at first since it was so bad, but as it quieted down, California should have reconsidered some of its policies. Many business owners are now in debt. Norris feels like the last 12 years of her life were for nothing. She is now in more debt than she was when she first started the business. Opening up was difficult for her and her employees. Since they are in the service industry, they couldn't work from home. “We have to take a $50 non-refundable deposit," said Norris. "So that we weed out the customers who truly can afford the service and have lesser chance of changing their mind and canceling the service." She added, "We can't afford for people to just book it, and then change their mind and all of a sudden I've committed for an artist to come to work, and I need to pay them.” Now that California is fully opening up, Norris is happy and feels it was long overdue. Businesses that managed to survive are breathing a sigh of relief now that their business may return to normal.

New Toys for the Air Force By Evan
The F-15EX Eagle is the USAF's newest F-15 variant. Built (like the F-15EX's predecessors) by Boeing, the F-15EX will replace its aging predecessors, which are the F-15Cs and F-15Ds. Originally built as a series of air superiority fighters, the F-15 series has advanced to greater heights ever since the first prototypes were delivered to the Air Force in 1974. The brand-spankingly new F-15EX Eagle was unveiled to the Air Force in April, 2020. It's said to have a more advanced radar and other subsystems, along with new cockpit displays and warning systems for electronic warfare and other threats. The F-15EX can also carry roughly 30,000 pounds of weaponry, such as AMRAAM and AIM-9X missiles. This aircraft has even been speculated to possibly carry hypersonic missiles in the future. Using F-100 jet engines, the F-15EX can fly at a whopping speed of 1,875 mph, or roughly two times the speed of sound. The F-15EX is planned to work with more advanced and stealthy jets like the F-35 Lightning II and the F22 Raptor, which have less weapons storage. The F-15 Eagle series was built as a series of air superiority fighters to replace aging so-called air
superiority fighters that, in reality, were more like attack aircraft. McDonnell Douglas engineers joked, "Not one pound from air to ground." That was why the Air Force came to McDonnell Douglas (now known as Boeing) to design a new fighter specifically for air superiority. The F-15 Eagle would be a single-seat fighter, meaning it would be operated by a single pilot (although later models were two-seated aircraft). The Eagle would also be used by foreign countries, as proven when a prototype (known then as the TF-15) engaged in a combat exercise with one of the Navy's F-14 Tomcats as a demonstration for the Israeli Air Force. After the engagement, the Israelis chose the F-15 for it's superb maneuvering and speed compared to the F14. The F-15 first saw combat in the Middle East, when Israeli F-15s (imported from America) encountered Syrian MIG-23s and 25s. During the engagement, the F-15s were able to down all enemy aircraft without a single loss. Ever since, the F-15 Eagle has served proudly in the US Air Force for over 45 years, shooting down enemy fighter jets left and right without a single loss, And the F-15EX will likely continue that legacy for years to come.

Behind the Scenes By Evan Josiah and William were in deep discussion about where pages should go in the magazine. Ms. Earley was at her desk talking with everyone else. Natalia was working on her article. I was typing this page. That was the scene on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. So now you've made it to the second to the last page of this magazine. Congratulations! Now you get the interesting stuff - the view behind the scenes into the typing, the talking and the random ideas that gets flown around here in our newsroom. Name selection, typing, jokes about chicken nuggets - all of which happened to get this magazine completed. First, finding the name for this magazine was both ridiculously funny and ridiculously hard. We were told by Ms. Earley that we had to find a name that wasn't owned by some other person or news organization or company, so every time we brainstormed a name, we had to research it to make sure it wasn't already being used. Josiah used a magazine name generator and rattled off one name after another, while we shut one name down after another. We came up with "Introduction Magazine," "Behind the Mask Magazine," "Chicken Nuggets Incorporated" (I made that one up, but nobody went for it). Eventually we finally named this magazine "California Unmask Magazine," but not after typing all of our articles. Based on stuff we liked the most, we figured out what topics our articles were to be (we basically just thought it off the top of our heads). After that, we briefly researched our topics, and after that we began to type our articles. A week later, our articles were done and we could move onto the front cover and other stuff that we needed to complete to make the magazine. We ventured around campus a few times and took a few photos. Soon enough, we had our front cover, and these photos you see to the left and bottom of this article. Then, we had to complete the final, most grueling stretch until the finish line. After that, we sent it to the printers, who printed the magazines, which were sent to you (probably). And now you are reading it, and now, if you've read this far, you're done! Hope you liked this magazine!
