Books are magical little creatures. They make it able for you to carry around tiny worlds and adventures in the palm of your hand. Sometimes people will constantly try to tell you they are most likely just a fantasy and rubbish. But us book lovers out there know that's not true. They are the rubbish, and if they can't see a magical world is your happy place, show them.

Recently, there has been an existential crisis throughout the U.S. Certain states have decided to ban books from their public and private schools.

From "The Hill" under "Changing America" is an article titled, "The Five States With The Most Book Bans" and as the article clearly states, "There are a total of 1,586 book bans and restrictions across 86 school districts in the country'' and "The majority of the books banned have to do with race, gender, sex or LGBTQ+ identity. "

Another statement from this article is, "Texas came in first as the state with the largest number of book bans at 713, followed by Pennsylvania with a striking 456 bans, Florida with 204, Oklahoma with 43, Kansas with 30 and Tennessee with 16.

I was astonished as I read the rest of the article.

How could people really hate books this much that they would ban them from the entire district?

Well, Walnut Creek Intermediate Middle School sure had the same thought.

When you walk into the school library, your world might get turned upside down, because the school decided to put up and hang banned books all over the shelves and walls with clear signs that said, "Banned Books!" and "Please Check Out. "

With a whopping rate, you wouldn't believe how many books had been banned!

The top books that have been banned are: The Great Gatsby, The Catcher In The Rye, The Grapes Of Wrath, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Color Purple, Ulysses, Beloved, The Lord of The Flies, 1984, Lolita, Of Mice and Men, Catch-22, Brave New World, Animal Farm, The Sun Also Rises, As I Lay Dying, A Farewell To Arms, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Invisible man, Song Of Solomon, Gone With The Wind, Native Son, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Slaughterhouse Five, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Go Tell It on the Mountain, All the King's Men, The Lord of the Rings, The Jungle, Lady Chatterley's Lover, A Clockwork Orange, The Awakening, In Cold Blood, Satanic Verses, Sophie's Choice, Sons and Lovers, Cat's Cradle, A Separate Peace, Naked Lunch, Brideshead Revisited, Women in Love, The Naked and the Dead, Tropic of Cancer, An American Tragedy, Rabbit, Run, and more in counting.

Please help our world speak out against these types of things, and I hope you can try to one day, do something about it.
