5 Steps to Achieving Your Biggest Goals This Year {TGIMonday}

Okay, so if you’ve been following me for the past few weeks, I’ve mentioned several posts on goal settings and setting yourself up to have a great 2015 with creating your unique success plan and how to become the best YOU this year. Now its time to shift towards achieving our goals. You see, you can plan, mastermind, discuss, and all that good jazz about your goals, but it’s a different ball game when we start talking about how to bring these goals to fruition. In other words, the action steps to making it happen!! Inspired by leadership expert, Michael Hyatt, of course with my own spin, flavor, and insight, here are five steps to make even your biggest goal become reality in 2015!

5 Steps to Get What You Want this Year #1 Believe YOU Can Win You’ve got to believe that you are an overcomer…that you have what it takes to succeed, point blank! This is perhaps the most important step because if you allow limiting beliefs to cloud your mind, they will steer you in the opposite direction of achieving your goals. The best way to set a mindset of winning is to: Listen to empowering audios daily Read books to elevate you in areas of leadership, people skills, marketing, and sales Recognize any limiting beliefs that you knowingly have and replace them with liberating truths

#2 Get Past the Past Your future does not equal your past. ~Tony Robbins What an awesome feeling that your past does not dictate our future. In other words, it doesnt matter where you came from, what mistakes you’ve made, or any failures you’ve experience, this does not determine your final story…your success. Stop beating yourself up on what happened in the past…it’s done! Deal with unresolved “failures” by analyzing what caused the error, then creating a plan so that it does not repeat itself. Failure can be used as a stepping stone and actually sets you up for success…so learn from it, embrace it, and allow it to propel you to greatness! You got this!

#3 Set Specific Goals Goals are specific, concrete, and measurable. It’s not enough to say “I want to lose weight in 2015″…how much weight do you want to lose?!? What does losing weight look like to you?!? Is it shedding 5, 10, or 30 pounds?!? When your goals are specific, you now have a measuring stick to gauge your progress and you know exactly what you’re working towards. Also, be sure to have a set deadline to create that urgency. I like to break my big goals up into quarters of the year (or in 90 day increments). However you do it, include the date as to when you want to have that goal accomplished. Set 5-7 goals that you want to accomplish in 2015 and make sure they meet the above criteria.

#4 Know Your Why This step is what will add fuel to your fire when things don’t go as planned. It’s vital to be connected to your goal and understanding why it’s so important to you. converted by Web2PDFConvert.com


Going back to our weight loss goal, perhaps your why is that you want to have a healthier lifestyle so you’ll be around to see your kids grow up. Or maybe it’s been a long time dream to run in a marathon. Take a few minutes to meditate on this. It may require peeling back layers to uncover the real, root reason as to why this goal is crucial to make happen.

#5 Get Started Now!!! Excessive planning is often a fancy way to procrastinate. ~Michael Hyatt You can literally follow this guide and implement it today…really. Don’t wait until the weekend or your day off or use any other excuse. Start to build the momentum you need ASAP. Break your goal down into bite size pieces and eat one of those small chunks today. No, you may not know everything but the path only becomes clear when you are in motion…when you’re taking action. That’s how you gain clarity on what you need to tweak and adjust to get it right. Stop procrastinating and putting it off. You don’t have to be great to start…but you have to start to be great! My favorite quote from Zig Ziglar. Go start!
